  1. I’m starting to feel jealousy creeping in. I’ve two models “on order”. One from Rails and one from Locomotion. Neither have asked for any more money - yet….. Trying to be patient, but it’s not easy
  2. Especially when compared with others I think this is an understatement!!!
  3. Thank you SO much for that consideration. Too many models need a degree in “not snapping things” to get into
  4. And the pricing of the sound fitted versions is amazing - a sight for sore eyes (and ears!) There is an Australian company doing similar great things, and one of their "boasts" is to add factory fitted sound to a model for AUD100 (just over 50 quid!!).
  5. It wasn’t an issue before as I only order a sound fitted version. But now I’ve stumbled across Locomotion still having a couple of white-windowed blue-uns, I have a second in order. Zibo’s regular 21MTC decoders can be both types, but their sound decoders can’t. Hence my question (thinking about possible future temptation)
  6. Question on the DCC interface (and sorry if this is covered somewhere in the previous 100+ pages!) but the Accurascale website says these have a 21MTX socket. Shouldnt this really be 21MTC? also, there are two different 21 pin “standards”. One has full voltage on all functions, the other has logic level for two of them. Which is the Deltic expecting? cheers phil g
  7. Arrgggggg I hope this extra delay doesn't impact Accurascales bottom line too much. Every delay eats into the "paid already" funds I guess
  8. While being tempted (again) I noticed that there are FIVE different green models with white window surrounds, but only ONE blue one Is there a reason ??
  9. No shame there at all Fran - sounds amazing And I love the masking tape trick, certainly makes it obvious
  10. I was just wondering what they make of intense interest in a SPECIFIC train from circa 50 years ago. And it’s “not even” a steam one
  11. I wonder what the Chinese workers imagine they’re making - and why
  12. I’ve also used those “glue dispenser” mice (Pritt or other makes are available) - to leave a thin layer of adhesive on the back of the ‘plate
  13. I feel sure that the “serious modeller” is not Hornby target market. Their “mass market” sound offerings for DCC are an indicator I think Though I may be biased. I still remember SK “putting me in my place”, deriding DCC as “going nowhere”
  14. Yep. They confirmed - they’re out of sound fitted ones
  15. Thanks for the hint - but I’m looking for a sound fitted one. Unfortunately
  16. Recently tried to order Tulyar from Rails. But despite showing “available for pre-order”, she isn’t
  17. I’m looking for a DCC auto reverser to control a turntable bridge. Snag it, it’s a flush mount turntable and my layout does not sit in a baseboard I can work under. So I’m looking for the smallest/flattest auto reverser I can find. Most have a chunky relay, which isn’t helpful. Any suggestions please?? Thanks Phil G
  18. We’ll, your SHIPPER does - but do Accurascale actuall ship! Or do they use an agent??
  19. Once goods are in a container, I doubt the sender nor the recipient will ever know which ship it ends up on (or ships - could easily be transported on more than one) Perhaps one of the models should have had a GPS tracker fitted??
  20. Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but has anyone figured out the thread dimensions holding the Beyer Peacock models together. I find I need a slightly longer one, but heaven knows whether they’re metric or BA……….
  21. Question is - which happens first. 1. I get the Deltic I’ve preordered 2. I succumb to temptation and preorder a second one?? tending to drift towards the 2nd choice!
  22. I've had some Antex solder lying around for ages, and now I'm "upgrading" to a temperature controlled iron, it would be good to know its melting point! BUT the reel doesn't have ANY identifying reference numbers, nor catalog numbers from whoever I bought it from All I have is the metal content - Sn97/Ag2.5/Cu0.5 and it's 0.8mm diameter Is this enough information for someone to identify it (Google hasn't been much help) or determine the melting point? Please?? MUCH appreciated Phil G
