  1. Really enjoyed seeing the layout over the weekend at RMWeb Live. Good luck with the show. Terry 'Earl's Court'
  2. At a recent show two punters were studying my 'Earl's Court' layout. One then said, in a voice loud enough to make sure I heard, "it didn't look like that" So I bit. me: "what didn't?" him: "Earl's Court......it didn't look like that." me: "No, the station is fictitious. It says in the program. And there is a map and a description explaining that on the layout" (in front of the fiddle yard). him: "Fictitious?" me: "Yes" He then paused for a moment before replying..."yeh, but it didn't look like that!" I just walked away to re-rail something that didn't need re-railing. Even his mate looked embarrassed! Terry ecmr.webs.com
  3. Looking great. Love the waste pipes on the back of the building....rarely modelled but add so much. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. Terry
  4. Nor me.....same for Earl's Court! Terry
  5. I've put one on my Earl's Court layout. Although geographically 'pushing it a bit' I do run LNWR/LMS 4th rail so....it's my layout and I don't care!!!!! I bought an 'HO' searchlight signal to start with. I then bought a cheap 2 aspect, removed the bulbs from the head, fitted new LED's and then put the bits together with a bit of brass tubing. Terry ecmr.webs.com just been updated with photos of the loco's.
  6. When I started building 'Earl's Court' I very much had Minories in mind. Note: No points in the viewable scenic section. In fact the model is only half a station because the platform would continue further beyond the over-bridge. I use Kadee couplings and under-track magnets to uncouple, so no 'hand of God' but arrival/departure with different loco's is possible. Terry ecmr.webs.com
  7. Sorry. Forgot to say fitted with Howes sound. Speaker is vertical in the bunker.
  8. Couple of photo's of my K's Condensing Pannier on a Bachmann chassis. Added handrails, rear window grills etc. Pump equipment was made from bits & bobs. Etched 247 plates. I think the body can make the basis of a decent model. Recently passed on a 15xx at a show. Very badly put together. Were these K's? Terry
  9. I'm having a clear-out as I am trying to get funds for a couple more sound chips.
  10. Glad all is well. Love their figures. Terry
  11. My layout is end to end straight line station to fiddle yard. I use Kadee. Firstly, being no curves on my track I can couple stock really close together by selecting the shortest coupling possible. Secondly, I have a magnetic under track uncoupler in the station and an above sleeper magnet in the fiddle yard. Provided I stop the train in the station at the correct place I can run in a train, pull in a loco at the other end and then move out the stock, leaving the original loco in the station. The process is reversed in the fiddle yard. I can sit in my chair without having to get up! And no hand of God. Terry
  12. I have an old item which is marked as per the topic description. It has a rotary knob marked with 6 positions (1-6) plus 2 push buttons, one marked 'straight' and the other 'curve' On the side are 15 screw fixings to connect wires(1-15). Does anybody know how to wire this? Or does anybody have instructions? Many thanks Terry
