  1. Now with the Farish class 90 unveiled, the Revolution class 92 and possible 89 it may be time to round out the mk4 hauling locos (90 when 91s weren’t available and the 92s on test during nightstar trials) with the 91 and said mk4s. (Could even make the nightstar coaches and sell them to a North American market)
  2. Been asking for for a while so I’m very happy
  3. This looks cracking, if only my ballasting looked as good
  4. This does remind me I need to poke you about a running issue mine has, even after being ran in it seems very jerky when setting off.
  5. wish I was brave enough to chop up N gauge models to make improvements like this, then I’d be more likely to get the current farish class 90 and 91
  6. Slowly been adding Hunt couplings to all my stock, in N they make much more sense, especially with how often they decouple with the old Rapido couplings (think that’s what they’re called) and added a class 321 to the collection, now just waiting for my class 800 to be returned from repair.
  7. Exactly what I’ve found, it was the kinematic getting dislocated that fouled mine when I first got it out.
  8. Got my 321 today, straight out the box and onto some kato R381 curves, 1 coupling fouled but then freed up with some gentle wiggling and now it’s running perfectly, only thing that’s bothering me currently is the slight jerk it makes when setting off on DCC using a DCC concepts zen blue+. Overall a good model in my books.
  9. As we get closer to Q3 I’m getting excited in anticipation
  10. Went to the vintage festival over the weekend and did some extra details to the layout. Also added a new curtain.
  11. Really need to get this all sorted so I can run my OO locos, while I’ve worked on oakwood lane this has been put in storage
  12. Right so minor update, with the layout not going to Stamford I’m making more improvements before it’s next outing, speaking of which, I need some help getting it booked into shows, I don’t really know what I’m doing.
  13. Well I’m upset, was meant to be going to the Stamford show with the layout but have caught covid, I’ve been waiting 3 or so years to take this layout to its first exhibition and I catch covid 5 days before
  14. no idea what has happened to the images on my other posts but here are the latest photos from Tuesday when my and my other half went to the local scout hut to lay all the new track to fit in the fiddle yard. Next job is to finish the wiring.
  15. I’m an impatient so and so, what’s the delivery date looking like now?
  16. The fiddleyard is complete, and now I look at my stock in the yard and really making me think I need more stock.
  17. I’ve really been getting cracking with this fiddleyard. This will also be kept for future layouts as well.
  18. The new fiddle yard is coming along nicely.
  19. I’ve been thinking… yes as dangerous as that is… that maybe at the end of the year I’ll retire the layout, either putting it in long term storage or dismantling it and then building a new n gauge layout based on Peterborough station in the modern day, or something else with more operational interest.
  20. Been tinkering with some Hunt couplings from West Hill Wagon Works for my N gauge stock
  21. Ok so went to Doncaster show yesterday and picked up some Hunt N gauge couplings to use on my container wagons and the KFAs are having some issues with their close coupling mechs on tighter corners, they’ll move over to the side but then get stuck so that the spring that centres them actually pushes them out to either side and won’t centre. Anyone have a fix?
  22. I will say, while yes there are farish class 90s and 91s out there, they aren’t easy to obtain, cost a fair bit when they do appear and lack many features that both Cavalex and yourselves would incorporate. I run my layout on DCC and started N gauge after the most recent run of both farish models. I do hope farish has a 90 in the works as the Bachmann class 90 in OO is an excellent model (I have one even thought I’ve gone on OO hiatus, just like I have an Accurascale class 92 on order and a revolution one for my N gauge layout ), but back to topic, new mk4s and a class 91 are sorely needed.
