Bachmann Hawksworth Autocoach
David Bigcheeseplant replied to David Bigcheeseplant's topic in Bachmann
I could do, although they are a different style of seat, are they for the Airfix Hornby Autocoach? Below is the seating for the A43 trailer, I need to laser cut the flat bits and print for seats then go for a test build. David -

The inside seating are partitions for WREN, I am getting quite into this now Fusion 360 is a fantastic free programme. -

Some rendered 3D images of the inside replacement bits for THRUSH the seats will locate in holes in the floor as will the various partitions. I know there was porthole windows in the double doors in to the main saloon but not sure if there was a similar window in to the single door into the smaller saloon. I need to now get the flat parts to the laser cutter and see if it all goes together. next up WREN and the diagram A43 trailers. What is really good about Fusion 360 as images can be imported and scaled to know dimensions the background image in this case is from Great Western Autotrailers by John Lewis Wild Swan David- 538 replies

Anyone who has an internal Thrush issue then I can sort it for you! I still need to draw up the bench seats there are three different lengths a two seat version for THRUSH, a five seat version for WREN and a 3 seat version fot the diagram A43 trailers. -

The seats are out of the printer. I need to pop a location pip in the bottom to match holes in the laser cut floor, and possibly print at a finer resolution but generally they look ok. -

Here are the seats for THRUSH, I have looked at all the photos of this coach and I think I have the shape and style correct, probably wont see too much detail once they are inside. Now to pop them in the 3D printer and see what comes out. -

My first effort at doing the bus type seating, I will do left and right hand versions, once I have done the high back version for Thrush I will see how they print the laser cut floor will also lower the floor and lose the holes for the lighting pick ups. David -

I got a anycubic proton. the wheels where the second print so I had the axle hole at 1/8 or 3.18mm and the axle was a perfect fit but I will reduce it slightly to get more of an interference fit. It is a bit of a learning curve but a bit easier than I thought it would be. -

I have brought a 3D printer and these are the first prints off it so the idea does work. there are two prints on the axle for a Southern E1, the front and rear driver and the centre axle with a larger balance weight. -
I have noticed I no longer get email notifications on threads I post on or follow, As far as I am aware I have not adjusted or changed anything. Any idea how I get this feature back. David

The named auto coach Wren never seems to have never been lined so was probably unlined crimson till the end or maybe unlined maroon.

If you skip to 6 minutes in to this film then you will pass under the bridge you where standing on and arrive at Aylesbury station in 1910. the GWR line comes in from the left and you will see Edwardian GWR trains and even a steam railmotor or autotrailer at the end of the film. David

RAILEX 2019 (Aylesbury) 25 & 26 May
David Bigcheeseplant replied to David Bigcheeseplant's topic in Exhibitions
An email was sent out to all layouts demos and trade with an invite to the Saturday night social all at the same time so I have no idea why it didn't get to you. It did get fully booked up within 24 hours of my email and as I only had a limited number of places, and had to disappoint a few people who wanted to come but were too late responding but decided to go somewhere else and join us for a few drinks after. To find a venue that can cater for 50-60 people in the town is impossible, and as it was The chief at the Hop Pole was on melt down just dealing with 42 of us, but did really well. David -

As per my previous post the lighting was poor due to the lights not working not being dimmed, in previous years all lights seemed to be working and the place was very bright. We will take the issue up with the stadium when we have a post RAILEX meeting with them. David -
RAILEX 2019 (Aylesbury) 25 & 26 May

Thanks for all the kind comments about the show, I am now recovering and still in bed after three days of Railex, as by last night I was totally knackered probably more so than in previous years. Looking at the steps I walked over the three days setting up on Friday and when the show was open I covered around twenty miles! it is strange I can work on the floor plan for ages to get what I think works best only when the show opens to find out why didn’t I do that, as it would have been better to pop Arun Quay to the right of Sherton Abbas rather than to the side. Also as GRA models wanted a corner stand had to move them to the other side of the hall which worked ok, I tend leave a bit of shuffle space to allow for on the day changes. i will probably just chill out for a bit before I start to look at next year, but all the layouts are now booked. The lighting was a bit crap this year after the hall being so bright in the past many tubes seemed to be out when we arrived on Friday to set up, I think the stadium needs to get these changed.
