    I always remember that we knew you as "Cash-me-a-Cheque" . . . . . . . . .

That's how I feel as well . . . . . but as I will be "Three Score Years and Ten" next month, Mrs B insisted that we must have a special holiday and so we are going on the "Coastal Express" with Hurtigruten up and down the coast of Norway - stopping at 34 ports on the way up to beyond North Cape, and then all the way back again. This is a regular service and 24 hours ahead of you is another ship doing the same journey and one 24 hours behind you. Some of the stops are just for 20 minutes in the middle of the night but you might see the same port in daylight on the way back. Not a formal cruise as some passengers are just hopping from one fiord to another for work or family visits. Maximum number of passengers around 600 and during longer stops at larger ports such as Tromso and Trondheim there are excursions available as extras.

I must admit that we were very lucky to see a "Black Friday" promotion and so got the actual cruise for half price . . . . . . .  and despite my initial reservations, I'm now looking forward to the trip.

We’ve done it quite a few times and think it is or was branded ‘the most beautiful voyage in the world’ can’t really disagree.

I am on EBay.sg looking for military grade gas masks. There's a glut of durian at the moment so they're as cheap as chips meaning Mrs JJB is taking full advantage. She had some yesterday and the kitchen still stinks of the stuff🙁

Selling well in Penang as well, not many left on this stall. Wasn’t feeling hungry and thought the security team on gangway wouldn’t allow me to take some onboard the ship. Pity 😉

I remember saying at the time to our bassist - Syd Snot (now Prof Moulton-Brown, Professor Emeritus of Neuroanatomy at UCL) - that that Grizz is gonna have one hell of a hangover...

    Happy days indeed.

And what ever happened to Gizzard Puke?

Booth and Cleese were divorced (1978) before the second series aired (1979). (I don't remember but I thought those two events were connected.) I'm not sure that more episodes were "possible" at that time.

Im not sure there were ever going to be more than the 12 episodes. Istr that Cleese had 12 ‘grumbles’ about hotels and each featured as an episode.

Well, it turns out that it could so I'd say that's a pretty darn good simulation of the sky you are looking at on that page.   Why am I not surprised?

Philosophical thought for the evening:     Astrometry.net is used for analysing the star fields and identifying stars  from Earth.     In our terms Voyager 1 is now a very long way from Earth, it's left the solar system some years ago and yet it's actually gone such a tiny, tiny distance in the Universe that the stars from its position look just the same as they do down here.   Makes you think doesn't it!

And on that bombshell I'll say Goodnight!

    Don't forget your homework @BoD 🤣

Many years ago I was in the control room R12 building on an R.A.F. R.A.D.A.R. station, when the Junior Officer I/C the shift knocked his muggatea into the main control panel of the Type 85 radar. Not surprisingly it tripped out. Some rapid button pushing and it came back on again.. strangely it all seemed well.

Next evening was a full power run, all twelve transmitters running into the aerial, ( 60MW), then all the various combinations of which transmitter up which horn or pair of horns ( 16 to choose from) and various other functions..

This did not go well, many switches and relays had glued together due to the 4 sugars he had in his tea. The whole thing tripped out several times and took some time to get running again after the control panel was replaced.

Similar reason why tea cups arn’t  allowed near layouts at MRC.😆
