Evening All,
Not much to report of late, usual characters involved.
Realy ought to get some business work done but can’t really get motivated which is strange as the sooner I get things sorted the soon I can put the pestle and motar away.
Nothing else constructive to say so goodnight.

I’m allergic to peanuts, not anaphylactic but it’s not pretty. This makes eating in south east Asia a very entertaining lottery. I haven’t always won…
Similar here but ok with peanuts. Almonds, wallnuts and brazils cause me issues. Funnily enough had a telephone appointment with docs this to discuss recent allergic reactions this morning and have been referred to immunology department for tests. I’ve had to wait best part of three weeks for phone consultation.
‘No adrenaline pen, call 999 if you have any breathing problems’. Thanks. Was that a rant?

Fish, chips and mushy peas; yes, yes, yes. But washed down with a mug of Yorkshire tea - milk, no sugar please. Also don't forget the essential round of white bread and butter.Tend to save my hot drink for afters but do have tea when we’re out at our favourite fish restaurant in Skipton.
Used to have bread, no butter, but as I have to eat gluten free no bread, gf bread tastes terrible.

I did in fact mention the Kyodo Lemaco signals in my post on Tuesday. I prefer them to Mafen because you can actually see them (!) but getting hold of them now is very hard, hence my decision to use cheapy plastic German signals modified
Sorry, forgot you mentioned them, and now recall reading your post. ( and rating it!)

Evening All,
Fish, chips and mushy peas for tea washed down with some Old Speckled Hen, very nice.
Pies, always mushy peas and chips.
Sausage roll, on it’s own or with baked beans but alway warm, not bothered about cold sausage rolls.
Pork pies, always cold with pickle and perhaps salad.
Goodnight.

Mushy peas have their place. It is alongside fush’n’chups at supper. Not at breakfast.
My uncle used to have cold mushy pea sandwiches for breakfast, thickly sliced I believe.

As no one has mentioned the Kyodo signals made in Japan and marketed by Lemaco I thought I’d post these pictures. I’m pretty sure they’re not available anymore and I’ve had them years and can’t remember where I got them from. Looks like I’ve got enough for a decent sized layout .

After a trip to Holland in the late '90s, I've always had a pipe dream of a Dutch layout, something like a Minories terminus to show off that blue & yellow livery on their EMUs, and the 1600/1700 electrics, which ironically I don't like in their native French colours.
I’m a bit further on, I’ve got a bit of stock and even half a dozen light signal. (N gauge)
Hopefully I’ll be able to get away with traditional baseboards rather than open frame one.😉

No. But if you don't really have any interest in them they all just look the same!
If you've seen one American, Swiss or German layout, you've seen them all....
Jason
Whats your opinion on Dutch layouts?

In my case, not long after bailing out early Covid struck the world (which rather cramped everyone's style) and then shortly afterwards my "Significant health issue" occurred (usually referred to as the Great Inconvenience). What was brought into very sharp focus for me by my GI is you really, really, really don't know what's just around the corner and (for me at least) that this is it and that life is not a rehearsal*.
Two of my really good friends who were short changed;
John (after we blagged a flight in a Tiger Moth, I think he enjoyed it) got 13 months after his NRD, Stuey (on the footplate on the Bure Valley Railway) didn't quite make it.
They were both well and truly cheated, two nicer chaps you couldn't wish to meet.
Go for it Robert!
Time for bed I fancy, night all.
* I appreciate that there are many who have differing perspectives on this which is fair enough but we'll not go down the route of forbidden topics
I had a ‘significant health issue’*about 15 years ago and was advised to ‘take a back seat’ which I have done.
While on holiday in New Zealand late last year I spent time thinking about an exit strategy but didn’t make any firm decisions. You may recall within a couple of days of arriving home there was a break in at work. (which I’m still dealing with the aftermath of)
On New Year’s Day I had a lightbulb moment and realized that next year I’d be sixty and perhaps that might be a good time to quit and had a conversation with the financial bods and the plan was accepted. Since that meeting I’ve had issues with rodents and drains at work and thought to myself what’s the point in waiting, my health isn’t getting any better and the remuneration from the extra year won’t been of any significance to me. Fortunately an opportunity has arisen which will hopefully help me with my ambition and I’m going for it!
*The issue is not quite as dramatic as first described (wheelchair within 2years) but when first diagnosed I was very hasty in sorting things out at work so I could get the most out of the situation. Fortunately I’ve been very lucky but feel that the time has come to put the pestle and mortar down.
***** no ‘heart’ reaction, It’s just my story and I’ve been very lucky and have only posted it to add context. *********
Goodnight

Morning All,
Sat at mils watching her and swmbo doing a jigsaw . Yawn.
After finishing my coffee we’re going to take Hovis for a walk but unfortunately its raining outside. After that I’ll be leaving swmbo here and driving home to get some paperwork sorted.
Sounds like an exciting day.
Better get a move on.
