4 years ago, during lockdown, I sold this Hattons Class 66 on Ebay, that I reworked into "Captain Tom" NHS livery and raised £600 for NHS Charities Trust.
100% proceeds...
Will we see one of these?...

No, 0 - 30. At least, those are the values shown in the LokProgrammer.
As zr2498 reminded me earlier, the LokSound decoder must have up to date firmware as well (easily done with the LokProgrammer). Many thanks, just tried on a Legomanbiffo class 153. Makes a difference 👍🏻

CV196 is bass, CV197 is treble.
Hi,
Is the range 0-255?
Thanks

cv 63 on most decoders. check supplied information
I think CV63=192 + CV32=1 + CV259=255. Well my 37s sound a beast after turning the master and power unit vol to max!

Well my wish list would be, 37716 (DRS fade) a decent DRS 37/4 in compass livery (405,419,425) Either blue or green ROG, 80s 37/4s and Scotrail 37409.
Oh yes and both variants of 37/9 (Ruston and Mirrlees)
Anyone agree with these?...

The colour print is a far better job than my previous attempt at a paint job! Bessie is a beautiful human being! Tatts an all!

Yep, so long as they make Stones FO coaches with twin fans. Some of the Mk2D FO coaches had Temperature Ltd air-con so had one large fan, like a Mk2F. They still used pressure ventilation though so kept the pv underframe box, unlike a Mk2F (see the black coloured box on the model NSE FK above).
Being really pedantic that NSE FK should have deeper door windows and friction dampers on the bogies instead of hydraulic dampers. Plus a yellow stripe (which does appear faded out on some photos).😁 Don't mind my comments, that repaint is a very good job.
Fair comment about the bogie dampers and the lack of yellow stripe. Most pics, which they aren't many, appear to have no yellow stripe, however if you look at the window gap at the top, I did drop the door window frames a couple of mm, but maybe not enough. I did also replace the single fan, with the stones twin fan (robbed from a Hornby MK2E)

Me too. Received an e-mail earlier today saying the balance would be taken within 72 hours. I already paid in full during March. After I contacted the chat line I received a courteous reply from Patrick confirming that if I have already paid then there is no need to worry and I would not be charged again and that no further action was required on my part.
Patrick is top notch!

I really can’t see the point of them duplicating Bachmann’s Mk2F range which are excellent (albeit very elusive to buy - especially in Blue & Grey). Add on the budget friendly Hornby Mk2F’s and it makes no commercial sense.
Mk2D’s on the other hand, make far more sense, especially as the Airfix tooling will be 50 years old in a couple of years!Definately need a mk2d!

Makes a no money down preorder seem like the investment of the decade :)
Makes me smile when you bring out a few items of stock that people want (like the batch of mk2b's left over and the recent 37's in the last few days! A real 🖕 to the "scalpers" 😂

Hopefully in Load Haul livery......
Yes different tooling with the square taillights, but 37601 "Class 37 Fifty" would be nice.

Once the run currently finishing production land we will launch the next run which will deliver within a year.
Well as I model East Anglia and here have my reworked 409 and 424, I would hope that 716 is among the next Batch. That would be a must! I spoke to Graham Hubbard at the Great Central yesterday and seeing the prototype of 714 (plus securing a model I have preordered) the model looks stunning! 😊

Wow that does look good, and so much better than the Hornby cab the dials finnish it off nicely. Im sure someone could produce transfers to cover over them, but tbh as theyll be so small I doubt anyone would notice all that much. Await the update!NL

A mk2d to Accurascale standards is a must 👍🏻💯
Think of the liveries.... Virgin XC, Inter-City Executive/Swallow, Anglia Railways, FGW, Blue grey, NSE (fk), Wessex Trains, Blue Pullman, Arriva Trains Wales, etc...

I’m still running my mk2bs despite the fact my layout was set up for steam running . Can’t take them off the layout , which has prompted a layout reversion to BRBlue/Grey . These really are superb coaches and value for money too .while I run Airfix/Dapol Mk2ds I have to say if Accurascale were to produce these , replacement would be a no brainer . So while in the past I’ve said no need for 2d duplication - id certainly sign up now
A mk2d to Accurascale standards is a must 👍🏻💯

So last Friday I decided that I was going to have another set of NSE coaches but this time it would be a full 9 coach Waterloo - Exeter set. Having looked through one of my friend's old spotting books I decided on a rake and then noted which build batch the TSOT came from.
For those slightly interested 118 Mk2C TSOs were built, of which the first 64 (5498 to 5561) had the style of toilet windows used in the Mk2, Mk2A and Mk2B builds. The remainder had toilet windows shorter in height so a vent could be placed above on one side, this is the style that Accurascale will be modelling.
The TSOT in the rake was 6503, which was originally 5510 so came from the first batch. Time, therefore, to start chomping away at an Accurascale Mk2B TSO to make and early style Mk2C TSOT.
First of all the roof vents were removed and 5 thou sheet used to make the access hatch on the roof.
The earliest Mk2C TSOs had two different style of roof vents before Roevac vents were finally decided upon, which were subsequently used on the air-conditioned Mk2 stock and the loco hauled Mk3 stock. The first vent style used is described in British Rail Mark 2 coaches as a 'G' vent, the next vent tried being a 'GM' vent. I assume these were G modified as they were very similar to a 'G' vent but shorter in height. Now a GM vent is near enough the same as an English Electric loco cab roof vent so a made up six of these (from Shawplan) and then added 20thou to increase the height, in order to simulate G vents. Most sane people probably wouldn't even care.
These were then added to the roof and left to dry.
I then turned to the interior and cut out one bay of seats and added a counter.
The roof was then primered, Archer's rivits were added to the edges of the roof hatches and then primered again. The small handles on the hatch were easier than expected (when a brand new drill bit is used).
The screen between the counter area and the seating was made and painted and the rest of the interior also painted. I could have smoothed things up a bit but more on that later.
So all the basic work had been done. A blast with Halfords matt black sorted the roof, a blanking screen for the window behind the counter and a strip stating Buffet for the window opposite, followed by a red stripe and a quick renumber and we have the below:
As for tidying up the interior wall before painting, you can't even see the counter let alone what the wall looks like!
All in all it took just under a week and I'm very happy with the result. Oh, and I've just straightened that footstep shown in the last photo.
Now, should it really be in this thread or the Mk2C one?
Well it originated from a 2B and it will be running with 2Bs, so I would say it belongs here! Very admirable work here.. impressive and fills another gap.
