Fabulous work, Chris!
-
Chris, I'd be interested in castings for the Bury and the HR wagon! Lovely job!
-
Less is definitely more in this case. Lovely work, the decompression has made a great difference.

Certainly look the part to me, Al. And if the lack of "daylight" is not obvious under the camera's scrutiny, I'm sure that they look even better rolling past.

Fine as the Roco beastie is, that REE model kicks things up a notch or three! Splendid looking loco...

It's an idea I've kicked around myself many times, Al, to cope with my indisciplined modelling interests - good to see you having a go at it!
Iain Rice explores the idea in a few of his design books with what he calls "jigsaw" scenery. It's also a neat idea for exhibition layouts - trackwork on a central spine, scenery modules cantilevered off that spine. We used it to decent effect on "Lee" and I'll almost certainly do so again.

Minor point, Chris - this is a general issue Dapol model, not a Kernow commission. The Kernow commissioned Class 22s are the weathered versions only.
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one..

Excellent news, Graham. Which diagram are they to be? The "filigree" wrought iron-style gates, or the concertina type gates?
As one who's wrestled with the semi-accurate Falcon, nee Jidenco, etches, I'm rather happy about this announcement...

Agreed - the atmosphere is right on, the mist-shrouded hills beautifully minimalist and reminiscent of a "soft" day in the Valleys.

I was thinking along very similar lines a few days back when you posted a batch of Engine Wood photos. My reaction to the photos was that while I chuckled at the "interlopers" and remembered past "justifications" of them, my inner purist was somehow far more satisfied with the photos of the durty black engines than the shiny green. And therein lies the dilemma.. I think I know what should have run on a fictional outpost of the S&D, but does Mr and Mrs Average Show Punter?
I must admit to being drawn to, and somewhat envious of, Jamie's self restraint in keeping things "typical" and plausible, if not strictly prototypical - that's what I've done when making an exhibition of myself in the past. However, behind closed doors IMTS applies...

Looking great, Al. The 56xxs sets the sense of place, the foreground buildings scream Ystrad Mynach at me.
I like the idea of a grey, somewhat forebidding, sky background. Maybe some evidence of recent rain on the surfaces?
Super stuff. I've bookmarked this to follow with intent.
