  1. G'Day Folk I've gone just about as far as I can with the N7 at the moment, I've replaced the boiler as it was oval, so I'm going to put it to one side. To stave off the Boredom (HA !) The W1 has jump to the top of the que (itchy fingers, no never) I've glued it together as I don't want to run the generator just for the soldering iron, I can always revisit it later ! the main body has been put together, I'm now at the stage of making the body fit the Hornby chassis. Another half wall has been rebuilt, all white ant eaten. manna
  2. G'Day Folks A loco plug removal tool may well be found in you cars fuse box, a small extraction tool can sometimes be found in there, for the removal of fuse's. For what it's worth. Terry (aka manna)
  3. G'Day Folks Such an easy build compared to scratchbuilding. A Hornby chassis has been acquired from E-Bay. manna
  4. G'Day Folks Obviously the old couple are off to the station to catch a train to the 'Big Smoke', don't you love 'Priv tickets'. manna
  5. G'Day Folks Something to report, and just in case you didn't see it in the Edgware layout thread, I'm going to model 'Bounds Green' in North London. Right that's out of the way' I've got some time on my hands so a new loco has been started just to totally mess my brain up, I'll come back to the other projects soon. I've dug the N7 out of it's box, the parts look good, a bit more tomorrow, she will become No 471. manna
  6. G'Day Folks Think I need new Glasses, can't find those 'Pink Elephants'........ manna

    Edgware GN

G'Day St E. I like the idea of a four track mainline with branches. Even if it's a bit smaller. manna

    Edgware GN

G'Day Folks After a long lay off, it's time to let you know what's happening. I have bought a House in North Queensland, which is an ongoing project, the main room in the house is roughly 22' x 12'. I have lately been thinking about what to build in the available space, Holme was my first choice, as I said above, but seemed to have a very open feel, the same as Edgware, so I plumped for Bounds Green in North London, a place I know well. I wasn't sure it would fit, so taking a bit of time off from house renovations, I tried to fit everything into that space..............I think I have succeeded. It has the flyover and the 'Kyber Pass', and most of the carriage sidings have had to be omitted. Your thoughts could be helpful. manna
  9. G'Day Folks How about, 'Speedy & Sloth' Glue makers. manna
  10. G'Day Folks Looking forward to seeing some platforms a Bradford. Will you be adding (at some later date) the Overall roof ??? manna
  11. G'Day Folks No, I don't think they do, as small as they are, it is scary that they can reduce a house to dust after a few years. Even newish houses have been condemned. manna
  12. G'Day Folks Bit of a shock, that !! But you have a nice new home for your layout, albeit smaller than required, but isn't it always. I think next year I'll get to start my new layout. Things are working out OK here, have a working toilet, running water, a washing machine and a ride on lawnmower, the house is waterproof and lockable. Some of the walls are now stable, rather than flapping around in the wind !!!! But the White ants have eaten a fair bit of the timber. Onwards and Upwards. manna
  13. G'Day Folks Someone's gone over the top with his Pennine scenery !!!!!!! manna
  14. G'Day Folks That's looking good, great overview of the station. manna
  15. G'Day Folks The GNR loco's are in short supply, but in LNER days, C1 and C2 classes, were common, J6's on the goods side, none are RTR in N gauge, A1's, B17's, A4's (which are RTR). manna
  16. G'Day Folks Get well soon, I always enjoy your updates. All the best. manna
  17. G'Day Folks Thank You for the pics of Bradford. Beer when it's a 105f, why not ! manna
  18. G'Day Folks The 'Bradford bit' looks amazing, any chance of a wider view !! manna
  19. G'Day Folks No It's time to tell you all where I am, it's a small town called 'Pentland' about 250km inland from Townsville, Qld, on the main Hwy and rail line to Mount Isa, I have very large Road Trains passing in front of the house, and the rail line has very heavy Goods trains passing, there's a crossing point at Pentland so there are often two double or triple headed trains crossing, tank, ore and cattle trains make up most of the consist. House is coming on, I have covered most of the outside with cement sheeting, so the walls and roof are now waterproof, but I don't think I'll be able to start the next layout until next year, still much to do. Pic 2 is the new railway room. manna
  20. G'Day folks You seem to have a dilemma on you hands, regarding the subways/stairs. Could not the stairs be behind the platforms, thereby keeping the platform widths in keeping with the photographs which show unobstructed platform widths. manna
  21. G'Day Folks Would that be 'Hitchin' in the background ? manna
  22. G'Day Folks Sorry for the confusion, don't normally go in for controversy, just a bit of light hearted of 'What the heck'..... manna
  23. G'Day Folks Three great pics, but in each pic, the Green is different, which made me make the comment, I've only seen the 'Scotsman' twice (that I know of) spotted around Kings Cross/Wood Green in the late 50's and early 60's I'm sure I saw 60103 at Wood Green, and then again at the Stockton150 cavalcade in 1975, I think I got two pics of it in Apple Green, I'll have a look for them, but I had my eyes on the C2 Atlantic.... manna
  24. G'Day Folks Great pic's, but is it the 'Right' green ???😂😂 manna
  25. G'Day Gents I like both your suggestions, and both are doable, I worked at KX, so know that station well, and I've shunted banana wagons at the original Enfield station. Maybe a modified KX, As a through station ??, but not seeing the concourse, got me thinking now, eight coach trains, Widened lines, Passenger loco, Oh Dear, what a thought, let me think about it. Lets see if it fits. manna
