  1. G'Day Folks Mine was 'Lord Farringdon' saw it day after day, and yes I would love to see it again today. manna
  2. G'Day Folks I wouldn't worry to much on a Midland based class 40 passing Little Benton, it was the nature of the railway for loco's to turn up in the most unusual of locations. I can remember a Green class 40, turning up at Kings Cross in the mid 70's, that one was based I believe was LM North Western allocated. manna
  3. G'Day Folks G'Day Chas. Thanks for the comment, yeah I do get around. G'Day Shaun. Unfortunately not, I have living in hope that Hornby would bring out a GN tender loco, maybe Heljan's future 02 will have the tender available separately !!!!!!! Otherwise, it's an scratchbuilding exercise, but at least they aren't to hard ( He say's lying through his teeth) Apologies for no new updates, I've had to dismantle the workbench temporarily, while I'm upgrading the Caravans electric's, with new solar panels, control panel, charger and two new Lithium batteries, Bang goes half a dozen new loco's Back soon, manna
  4. G'Day Folks Talking of M&GN, I made a model of there J3 derivative, Midland smokebox door, stovepipe chimney, it certainly made for an interesting and ugly engine (it's unfinished) manna
  5. G'Day Folks Had an Ex Para bike as a teenager, with the weight of it I'm surprised all the Paratroops didn't plummet immediately to Earth. manna
  6. G'Day Folks That's cheating, having a drawing..................I resize a picture and hold up the model to the screen. 😁 manna
  7. G'Day Folks A V4 out of a B12, even I wouldn't have thought of that one !!!!!!! manna
  8. G'Day Folks At least the real Underground tube trains did travel through the 'Cross' via the drain. manna
  9. Mines in Black and white, I'll keep looking. manna
  10. G'Day Folks Unexpected, but handy for the Cambridge Buffet Express, I have a picture somewhere of City of London at Kings Cross next to an A4. manna
  11. G'Day Folks Heard back from my buddies on Facebook, yes they did come in different colours, the one at Mingary, was Black in the 60's, the one at Orroroo was Red, ( probably a dark Red) and I know of another that was Grey. manna
  12. Hi JZ Give me a day or so, I just posted that question on my SAR Facebook site, I HAVE A FEELING that they came in different colours. manna
  13. G'Day Folks Thank you for festive greetings, I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. Two parcels have arrived form the UK, one containing stuff I had bought, a J52 and a 'Shorty' Gresley coach, that I want to backdate to a GN type, just for a bit of variety. The second contained a Bachmann K3 an older one with a bad paint job, it will be backdated to 4007 with a GN cab and tender, which this loco kept until 1939/40, always liked the look of these big locos with a small tender, as opposed to all the little GN 0-6-0's running around with tenders that dwarfed them. A cab for the K3 is well under way, a start on the GN tender will get underway soon. A cab for the J3 is almost complete. Lovely day for taking pictures 36c and sunny. manna
  14. G'Day Folks Being a young trainspotter in Wood Green, North London, a favorite location for me was behind a Greengrocers shop that overlooked Bounds Green carriage sidings, which included great views of the flying junction to Hertford and the Kyber Pass. Plenty of Down express's suddenly appeared from under the bridge at the North end of Wood Green station (Buckingham Rd ??) Wood Green tunnel being a natural scenic break to the North. Will it ever happen, I don't know, but I may be in the market for a 12/15 meter shed soon, if all goes well. manna
  15. G'Day Folks Enjoying a Aussie layout, don't see to many. Here's a little bit of inspiration, the first two are obvious, they are in Southern Qld, the water tower is from the SAR, at Mingary, ( near Broken Hill) been disused since the end of steam in the 70's manna
  16. G'Day Folks I'll name that Wooden engine in one...........LNER E1 manna
  17. G'Day Folks Wonderful collection of houses, but what's the betting that the people that lived in those houses, had absolutely no interest in railways whatsoever. manna
  18. G'Day Folks Typical GN, stunning. manna
  19. G'Day Folks It's warmed up a bit, so out we go, decided to start on that extra J3. Forged ahead by using the R1 body, I cut the boiler.cab tanks off (see pic) leaving just the runningplate and front splashers. I've bodged the back of the running plate for the moment so that I can have a flat work area. a new boiler has been cut (overlength). Not bad for one day. I Will also like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas to everyone who has looking on this interrupted thread. manna
  20. G'Day Folks A great shame that a beautiful animal has to be dealt with in that manner, but I can understand why. manna
  21. G'Day Folks Could you not do what you did at the other end of the layout, with a picture under the bridge ?? manna
  22. G'Day Folks Pity, I like the view, it's different. manna
  23. G'Day Folks A small bit of flat brass with a 'U' shaped cut out, slid over the drive shaft and glued to the upright (just behind the brass worm gear) Unless you want to screw it into place. manna
  24. G'Day Folks My only claim to fame about Billericay, is being on a train at 4.30 am when we hit a Horse at 75 mph, What a mess !! manna
  25. G'Day Folks Been thinking (A Dangerous process) in the last pic of the J50 passing the platform space, could you not have removable platforms that would sit on the brackets on the viaduct, so you could change era's, GN, LNER with platforms, BR without. Just a thought !! You Tube..........YUM. manna
