  1. thanks will see that as a compliment
  2. didn't want to go into the train room as it's one big mess down to all the scenery work, so decided to stay in my office and to spend a bit of work on one of the factories I am building. really likes the look if I am allowed to say it
  3. Morning all have added some green bits Not finished yet but getting there. Best regards, Maurits
  4. Morning all, everything works as expected, time for a proper clean up as I noticed that there are still some pieces of ballast in places where they don't belong
  5. Goodmorning all. Have made quite some progress over the last couple of days, the main 6 lines of the station are ballasted and the 3 signals at the north side are in place now Have been doing all the smaller bits now aws ramps, the orange piping and relais boxes I didn't like the look of the relais cabinets next to the track down to the hill behind it so decided to scratch build a small concrete/ brick embankment for the relasi cabinets. next job on the list is some weed and other green stuff, a small gravel footpath from the embankment to the platforms but first it's going to be a test day today best regards, Maurits
  6. Happy Easter. apologies a lack of updates, haven't done much scenery wise mainly testing and testing to improve the performance which is getting better and better now. I am now at a point that I can safely have around 18 trains running simultaneously and that the computer is still able to send and receive all necessary commands. One of the things I am doing at the moment is transferring all the signals from control via loconet to control via my laptop using the OC32 technologie ( http://www.dcctrainautomation.co.uk/dinamo-oc32dcc.html ) and this weekend was planned for the last 5 signals in the main line, so wires and wires, only for the 3 I have done yesterday a good 30 metres ??? ( who said dcc is only 2 wires ) which results in 3 working ones ( the left one isn't properly done yet ), so 2 more to go on the upline. before we can do some scenery here. which is planned some point today once the missus let me.
  7. Happy Friday all, planned jobs for the weekend, tomorrow St-Neots show, Sunday is planned to connect the up and down level together, wasn't originally planned but as one of the uplines isn't able to handle traffic quickly enough, this will be a big help. only 4 points and 1 metre of track
  8. apologies this is the correct video
  9. Evening all, Just received a new small little toy small teaser, full video within a couple of weeks once I have finished the new additions to the layout Best regards M.
  10. Thanks, this is going to be a challange but going to try this
  11. Happy Sunday evening. You might, or you might not know but I was struggling a bit with the platforms, especially because I wanted an overhang whioch wasn't as simple as I thought but after a couple of weeks trying, starting again, again and again I think I am satisfied now. All lamp posts are working, will be 100 of them in total so another 94 to go. Will spend the next couple of days finishing this platform before ballasting this bit, also need to do some extra painting etc but slowly getting there.
  12. Me neither Ben, but will go to St-Neots soon, will spend some time near the ECML , just to see what the 4 aspects are doing. Layout wise Quite busy lately with the other part of the viaduct, painting, weathering and so on. Nice job in between is always little pieces of scenery, in this case between the back ground and the main line. Not finished yet still need to add some fencing and some more bushes but the looks is already great. If , but if I am really in the mood Saterday I will get the airbrush out and do something about the main line, way to clean and new now
  13. Hi Ben the change in the four aspect is something to do with the software. Normally the change is Green - Red - Double yellow - Green. On my layout signals are set like points as the computer controls them so they have got an accessory address. to set double yellow you need to set one address which is single yellow and the second address to go to double yellow. You have to pop in soon, will explain a bit more in detail then
  14. Happy New year for everybody. have had a very good session today down to the fact that I canged my old laptop for a new one which seems to cope better with the communication. during the session a nice surprise, 5 at the same time in the station, have stopped everything to add number 6 for a nice line up
  15. Evening Some good progress to report on the platforms, was quite a fiddle because of the width of the cleaner wagons but looks I have managed to keep the gaps as close as possible without touching the wagons. For those who are familiar with Horsely Fields know that on horsely fields there are 2 different types of platforms closed and open, with courtesy of BenA. I am copying this idea shameless on Hills and Meadows And a helicopter view. The other project I am working on are the signals on the mainline. I am only using signals from CRSignals purely because I believe that the look soo much better then other makes and Paul is such a lovely gentleman who seems to be available for any questions any time of the day. with the signals working i have started adding little details like the AWS ramps and relay boxes. . This this is how it looks like, please ignore the last shot as there was almost a derailment down to some ballast which wasn't removed properly.
  16. Happy Monday. finished the mock up of platform number 2 last night, 3 to go before we are going to do some serious testing between x-mas and new-year. as mentioned I wasn't overly happy with the office block next to the terraced houses, so after a bit of playing with the computer and the silhouette printer I came up with some own design retaining walls, few tweaks to do but think it looks much better, need 8 of these on both sides of the viaduct. best regards, Maurits
  17. evening. I can't agree with myself what to do next to the terraced houses, the office building doesn't look right so need to come up with another ideas. same for the helix, I know what I want, but need to create something which looks right and is removable in case of a derailment, it hasn't happened since I have build it but for sure it's going to happen once it's no longer accessible.. to keep a bit busy I have started as well with one of the platforms, a bit of a challenge as the track isn't straight. so a mock up first to see how it looks My lux cleaner set are the widest wagons I have, so if they fit everything else will fit. and a first glance from board to top 12 mm, seems alright to me. I have tried to find the correct height for platforms, seems to be various options so likely my 12 mm isn't to far out
  18. Happy Sunday. Had 2 good days in my train room, did a 5 our run yesterday without any major issues with a top of 28 trains simultaneous, so I was quite impressed with this achievement. Today was planned to get some scenery done. Have made the first part of the scenery for Helix number 3. similar construction as the other ones, so a removable middle part. Haven't decided yet what I am going to do here but it's likeley that it's going to be some woods and a radio tower like the Sandy radio tower. also started with another building, this time an old , badly maintained office block, partly rented out and decorated with some big sales banners. lots of work to do off course but happy with the first achievement.
  19. so this is the outcome of my idea weeks ago, really pleased with the outcome
  20. special couple of days, so a special photo
  21. Evening all Just recovered from the weekend and a few hours for myself. I have left my terraced houses project for a while as I was struggling to see/ find how to finish them. and finish in a way that a fitted in the surroundings. Till I was driving from wendover to Bourne end last week and I passed a set of terraced houses with were separated from the road underneath with a big retaining wall, so an idea was borne. So time to get the tools out, making walls, foot paths, front gardens etc etc. now everything needs to dry before I can finish the front gardens. so another update soon
  22. evening all, managed to get the retaining wall finished last night, really pleased with the end result. think onces it's covered with weed and bushes it really stands out
  23. Evening, steady progress with the build of one of the retaining walls. if I am able to get some time > tomorrow I will start painting the whole lot as this needs to be finished first before I can start with making some hills
  24. Hi all I have been able to spend some time in the train room between watching football, the whole mainline is done now, need a good clear up and a few spots which needs some extra ballast. will do a good run in the weekend before I will start with the signals, relays boxes, the green stuff amd the air brush. this is the right hand side towards rhe corner with the terrassed houses and the left hand side, the blue foam is a mock up for the retaining walls, just to check and see how it looks
