  1. Happy Sunday. Have wired up the whole fiddle yard now, 47 sections in total http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c353/MJCMonique/1-Millbrook%20Meadows%20model%20rail%20way/20150321_191501899_iOS.jpg[/img] http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c353/MJCMonique/1-Millbrook%20Meadows%20model%20rail%20way/20150321_191509605_iOS.jpg[/img] everything is also already sorted in the computer so this afternoon it's play ( test ) time, see what's max I can get out of this fiddle yard best regards. M.
  2. Happy Saturday all. have done lots of running last 2 days do time for a little first movie a few minor tweaks to do but really pleased so far M.
  3. evening all. have had some fun with soldering droppers, connecting points and power reverse modules. the first 13 sections are connected and I have had my first test night with 2 loco's completely computer controlled. so far my ideas and thoughts are working. trains are able to make one full loop tomorrow I will connect track of the fiddle yard and than I should me able to test with 8 trains. best regards, Maurits
  4. thanks Ben. I am confident to, it's not the first one I am building and Highbury Fields was a good learning curve. at the end
  5. fase 1 finished. next fase, servo's, decoders en soldering Don't expect any progress soon as we are entering a long trial and error period, who has followed Highbury Fields has seen that I was struggling with space and a correct flow. The way I have done the fiddle yard now should solve the flow problems and shout give me space for an average of 30 trains. to get this done I have in mind to get small sections of 100 cm each. so a 2 coach HST is 60 cm that's one section. a freight train is 200 cm means 2 sections occupied. so this is something I am trying to achieve over the next couple of weeks or months what ever it takes and once's the computer deals with the fiddle yard as I have in mind I will start building the helixen. will post a video once I can run a full loop M.
  6. hi Stephen . It took me a while to start van scratch but what a lovely topic, greatblayout with a very good eye for detail, please keep on posting. thanks a lot, Maurits
  7. Evening all A small midweek update, have done a few bits over the last couple of nights. laid down the second set of points, laid the 2 tracks towards the second helix and connected the first 2 full tracks of the fiddle yard, another 8 to go with around 16 metres of track. once done my favourite work ( not ) droppers, points and all detection decoders which will be quit a task to get this done properly. speak soon, Maurits
  8. Another 18 metres and 7 points, 7 points and 100 metres of track to go before the fiddle yard is finished Best regards Maurits
  9. Have been quit productive today, my little home made tool is doing the job and gives me lovely curves And after a couple of hours I have connected the first pieces of track and a first test run with my latest addition a class 37 in DRS with some German Double deckers as these are perfect to see if the distance between the track wide enough is. Despite being 30mm is't quit close but enough tomorrow another day Maurits
  10. Not a lot to report, have been away all week but have found a bit of time to connect al boosters this should be enough for at least 40 simultaneous running trains which should be more than sufficient. hopefully some track laying this weekend best regards Maurits
  11. Hi all. small update, the base for the lowest stack yard is more or less finished, I was intending to have a small desk aswell so I could do some modeling whilst watching trains, it's a bit tight so something still to consider. best regards, M.
  12. Hi All. done a bit more work tonight the light cover is more or less done now, only a small bit to do but need to get some more board. have decided to go for a bit of a finishing touch, nobody is going to see it but it looks just a bit better also the second and third led tubes are placed, looks that it's more than enough light. and the fist part of the base board, level 1 at 55 cm height I had a small wish to see the first train this weekend but don't think it's going to happen, the things to do list is still big. best regards Maurits
  13. Well can say had a few good hours with my dad the last 2 nights, all back scenes done, storage/ light hood finished almost there and with the first led tube, nice and bright light next stage, the construction of the layout M.
  14. Well that was a very busy week gone, firstly visiting customers in Cornwall, Devon for four days, Saturday the Princess Risborough show with Horsely Fields so finally today some me time. as my parents are over from Holland I had an extra pair of hands which was very useful. so firstly we have finished the back boards till the full 10 metres length painting was the next job. and after the paint was dry we have started with the first of 8 back - scenes. we have also started with the top shelving/ light bar which also needs to be finished first before we can start with the construction of the layout. This week most nights home so for sure some building time best regards M.
  15. well that's was the Sunday gone, had planned to do most of the back scene boards but with a female ambulance in house shouting do this, do that all the time it didn't went completely as planned so happy to manage at least 2 of them done. next week I have got the family over from Holland so with a bit of luck I can hide myself with my dad in the train room will keep you guys posted M.
  16. Hi Ian good to see Banbury and yourselves today. hope you can solve the coupling/ derailing issues M.
  17. warning with thanks to Photobucket who has recently changed their policy all my images are no longer visible. I have moved them to Flickr but I am not sure if I can restore all image links, so if please visit my flickr photo book for all images Hi all. after a too long break after Highbury Fields the house move is done, most of the boxes unpacked so time for a new project. and I think I can say as complicated as the previous one but almost twice the size 350 metres in total. What is planned. 3 fiddle/ stacking yards. the main one can stock 35 long or 50 short. a 6+2 track main station, a shunting yard with TMD and a 4 track main line all on 3 layers. Ssame as Highbury Fields not a specific area it's still rule 1 although there will be some ECML influences. I had already ordered all the wood work which I could pick up today. also the back scenes are in house, special thanks to John from art-printers who has done a sort of special commissioned job for me as the design I wanted wasn't available in 40 ft. so that's the first project I will do attached board on the walls for the back scenes. as I will have rond corners I have made a little tool which will also help making nice smooth bends, smallest one is peco r3 up to ... and after some diy you get this always smooth nice corners. this is the train room, still some boxes to do although most of the boxes are train stuff. best regards Maurits
