So there's not only a North-South divide but an East-West one as well.

Only problem with a clear tunnel, whether glass or polycarbonate, would be how long it would remain clear for. Salt water and sand are rather abrasive and the initially clear tunnel could become opaque in time.
In that case just make an opaque tunnel initially.
When you buy your ticket it isn't on the understanding that you will have sweeping vistas of wildebeest majestically crossing the plains, its just an A to B jobbie.
It's a bonus if you can't see Dawlish!

The parakeets seem to have bypassed South Essex. They do exist I believe in parts of London north of the Thames, but not out here. Plenty of exotic palms in Southend waiting for them if they do.
I must fill the bird feeders. Last year the fatballs were totally ignored. I tried another make and the same thing happened. The mixed seed and nyjer seed feeders seemed as popular as ever.

SWMBO has a rather large collection of Pendelfin rabbits.
Back in the 70's when they were relatively new I often bought Pendelfin figures (blue only) and buildings for my Mum. They were promoted as collectors items of the future and collectors clubs were formed.
Up in the loft they all sit in a box. 20 to 30 pieces. You can't sell 'em for love nor money. Ebay frequently has them for give away prices.

The sun returned to sunny Teignmouth yesterday and it's here already again today.
Managed to watch 2 more episodes of Killing Eve last night, we are on episode 5 next. Apparently there will be a 3rd series, I am guessing she doesn't get killed in this series.
The newly elected local council now orange, similar to a POTUS, has reneged on a previous pledge to donate £10k to the inaugural Teignmouth Airshow. Apparently the airshow will still go ahead. A bit of a sad decision by Teignbridge Council as I imagine Teignmouth will be full to the gunwhales that day. It is a green issue. They didn't want all that aerial pollution. Apparently your flights to the US, Cuba etc can still pass overhead. I don't imagine we will have a missile crisis based on the promenade.

Pictures of your farts? No ta.
Thinks presumably to enable a fart to be seen, it has to be....lit?
In that case we definitely (for Facebook users, defiantly) need photos.

My wife showed me a photo yesterday of a Singer sewing machine, manual type, sent by courier not fail mail.
On its arrival the handle, wheel and the 4/5 piece wheel support structure had been totally smashed.

Me, I'd leave the railway where it is and build the entire coastal section into reinforced concrete tubes to keep the sea off the front and the cliff falls off the back and top.

If the Swiss can build avalanche covers and the Turks can build an in the water metro across the Bosphorus I am sure NR can make some plan. Even if the people of Dawlish are unhappy.

Sheila asked me earlier if I still plannec on going swimming tonight. I said yes, as I can't get much wetter once I'm in the water. She then commented on the fact that, as we're having baked beans with tonight's tea added to the mushy peas last night, that I may be jet propelled!

Storm-hit Dawlish railway line 'may be moved out to sea'
in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)

I would imagine if a direct line from Exeter to Newton was made it would result in a Teignmouth to Paignton shuttle service. Dawlish would miss out but hey, as the sea encroaches inland they wont have so far to walk to the beach.
