  4. I thought about starting a thread about my micro layout. It is 23 x 8 inches built on a second-hand pine shelf. I had 3 yards smp track so old the rail came detached from the plastic base, so I salvaged the rail, and bought packet of exactoscale bases from C&L. The rest is what I have had for years, apart from static grass, and plasticard. I had my first model trains when I was four years old, now seventy one I have collected enough to keep me going. MALCOLM
  5. Luke, I thought I would show that you can build something under 24 x 12 inches. Mine is built on a second-hand pine shelf, the purchased items is the track base as I had some bullhead rail. The low-relief buildings are scratch-built from plasticard, and Wills sheets. As like you I have a number industrials my layout is based a landsale siding on a colliery system. Malcolm
  6. Hello Luke, The attached picture is of layout I am working on, it 23 x 8 inches of which 15 x 8 inches is scenic. Malcolm.
  7. Impetus produced etched chassis for centre model kits.I have rsh,16ins, and victory class, with kits to go with them.I wonder what they are worth. Malcolm
  8. Page 9 in RailwayWagon Plans 1960s to the present by John L Fox there are photographs and two plans. Malcolm
  9. There is a book about Lilleshall company coming this year published by the Irwell Press,I think it said in May' Malcolm.
  10. According to the RCTS book it was started at Bricklayers Arms, and finished at Ashford as you said.It cost £413-10s-8dat Bricklayers Arms and £25 at Ashford. It was withdrawn September 1866 converted to a stationary engine February,1877 and sent to Redhill . Where it worked until April 1888 when it was sold for scrap for £26-18s-10d to a Newhaven scrap dealer. I hope the information proves interesting, good model as well. Malcolm. Just found an illustration in Vertical Boiler locomotives by Oakwood Press.
  11. I am part way building a 4mm micro layout the baseboard is built out off foam board but braced on the outside by mounting card. The back scene is braced on the edge by 40 thou plastikard. I have found Resin W interior glue the best to stick everything together. Malcolm.
