      Television this festive season has been pretty dire, I've not found much to record for later viewing on the main channels, and the digital dross channels have been showing back to back carp. On the other hand, the subscription channels advertise drama series that look most unappealing.

       

      There's not much to chose from, but I'd rather pay a license fee of about £3.40 a week to keep ALL the BBC's channels going rather than end up being beholden to Amazon, Disney, Netflix, Sky and their ilk.
