I don't suppose there's any chance the record-breaking speed run formation will be completed with the carriages borrowed from one of the streamlined sets?
If only!
-
what has any of this to do with the actual model?
if some people want to get this thread locked then you are going the right way about it!

Isn’t it a week Saturday...?
Yes but some of us still haven't had invites.
-
Hi Dave,
How's the scanning party shaping up, pun intended, will there be a few of us there? Looking forward to it and getting to crawl all over the real thing...
See you there
Peter.
Also when will you be sending out the rest of the invites Dave and are there any special guests attending?

Another 5-unit set on yesterday's trip up from Cardiff to London, predictably crowded and with no valid seat reservations. GWR said the full train wasn't available
due to the bank holiday on the previous day, but how could this have caught them unawares? On the plus side, today's return journey was much more comfortable
in a 10-unit set.
There was a 5 car set at laira today that might be why it was not available.

Is there any reason why the two power cars can't be wired in parallel. It would solve any problems of one loseing power while the other was still operating.Or would there still be problems of matching speed?
I think you mean in series that way the two motors share the same current.

All this negativity is not helping!
It has been made clear from day one that this project is crowdfunded and if you don't understand the concept then don't sign up.
If you did sign up early days and are now having cold feet then man up and say so instead of trying to hide behind the blanket of terms & conditions.
The more people threatening to cancel orders only makes it more likely for the project to fail and all of us to lose our funds.
Personally I have no doubt about the project and find it disappointing that the N modelers have not supported this as they have far more chance of running it as a full set.
Hope to see the believers at Crewe.

Perhaps when N gauge modellers see what the OO models look like, more of them will sign up for the N gauge version.
I think it will be too late by then.
If N gauge modellers want this to go ahead then the only way forward is to order them.

I post this on behalf of a friend whose late husband left a model railway collection (he died some years ago, so I have no idea what sort of stuff he had).
The question I have been asked is who are the best people to deal with if selling a collection. She, as a non-railway person, has heard that Hattons purchase second hand collections (so their advertising must be working), but she wonders who else might and if there are any recommendations.
Please feel free to PM me if you don't want to give any examples, particularly any negative experiences, on the open board.
I realise that there are other options, e.g. listing on auction sites, but I have been asked so far only to find out about businesses that would purchase a collection. I should see her, and the collection, on Sunday, so any help or suggestions before then would be champion.
Thanks
Given your location I would contact Mick at Durham Trains of Stanley once you know what the collection consists of you can take it to the shop or if you are not too far away he will come to you to appraise it.

Hi, I have a TTS decoder which works fine in other locos. I install it into my J50 and to get it to work I have to push it down and over to the side, as soon as I let go, it stops working!! Any ideas? Any workarounds at all? Thanks in advance
Sounds like a dry solder joint in the socket try taking the pcb off & resoldering joints.

Hi all,
I'm in the process of planning a build for a 3 car Eastern Region class 101 DMU. I will be making carriage diagrams 523 (DBMS), 624 (TC), and 621 (DMC). All may be in refurbished White/Blue colours. I was wondering if anyone has scaled drawings of at least one class 101 vehicle to refer to. Also if anyone has any advice that would be great too.

Thanks to all that contribute.
Might be a good starting point.

Did you let it cool down & try again and also check for short circuits on the layout/loco those controllers have a thermal cut out built in.

Take a look at the latest images (Courtesy of Railway Modeller) of our exclusive OO Gauge Dynamometer Car!
The sample is undecorated but shows the level of detail the model will have, both inside and outside!
Remember with Dynamometer car will have a full interior lighting to show off the interior controls and detail.
We have taken a high number of pre-orders already and if you are wanting one we recommend pre-ordering asap to avoid disappointment. Due Q1 2018

Any chance of an update on this please

No notes (English,Scottish or Northern Irish) are legal tender. Only certain coins up to specified amounts are legal tender.
Roddy
Mmmmm, not quite - unless you are referring only to Scotland. A quote from the Bank of England website:
"What is classed as legal tender varies throughout the UK. In England and Wales, legal tender is Royal Mint coins and Bank of England notes. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, only Royal Mint coins are legal tender. Throughout the UK, there are some restrictions when using the lower value coins as legal tender. For example, 1p and 2p coins only count as legal tender for any amount up to 20p."
I think the phrase is accepted tender when notes may be used but are not legal tender.

Would I be correct that every possible combination from 5 to 14 coaches would have been run at some stage during the testing programme, except the longer formations would have had 2 power cars in the formation?
I wonder what the longest formation with only 1 power car was?
I'm sure Mr Tilt will be along to let us know pretty soon.

And i've got a set of the Bachrus ones (Digitrains, CoastalDCC and doubtless other suppliers) that are adjustable to suit any gauge between H0 and S. I'm very happy with them.
