    CEX carlisle has a used fujifilm the same as the one i wish i hadnt traded, do i go back to what i know and like and sacrafice a few megapixels and zoom

      I'd go for,it if you regret getting rid of your old one. Unless you're printing your pictures as large posters anything over 6 megapixels is over kill. 2000x3000 is higher resolution than most computers can display.

    My new job involves taking OB lorries to and from studios and locations. Some very old motors - not seen a Leyland Freighter or Seddon Atkinson on the road in quite some time, much less driven them. Seddons are still as rubbish as I remember them from 20 years ago.

    has never quite worked out which was the greater crime against culture - that countless episodes of Hancock, the Goons, Dr Who, Dad's Army etc were destroyed by the BBC in the 50s 60s and 70s, or that every episode of New Top Gear was saved for posterity.

      To bo fair some of those episodes were not destroyed on purpose. They didn't know that the media they used was dodgy and the stuff was erased accidentally.

    A few weeks ago TV informed us the resavoirs were near empty. They must be full to overflowing now but the 'Help-the-rip-off-merchants' TV hasn't said anything this time. Expect water rates to increase!

      There are still severe drought warnings (from the Enviroment Agency) for most of the South East. It takes many months of rain to refill reservoirs.

      Try eBay. You can often get a hundred for a couple of quid from china. Pretty lurid colours and not the best painting, but doesn't really notice inside a carriage.

    Is it me or do most layouts have the fiddle yard on the left?

      It is probably a sub concious choice of the builder as we read left to right (in the West), so we want to run trains left to right (my fiddle yard is on the right BTW).
