Hi.... It was blinking cold at work this morning..... -10C on arrival...... but not just as chilly as it apparently was at Shawbury about 30 miles away to the northwest..... the 'heat' from the interior of an unheated greenhouse was sufficient when seeping through the insulation of a thick covering of snow on the glass to allow melt water to freeze again into a line of small icicles along the gutter....pretty eh? The air is coming out of the accumulated snow layer now, so looking a bit flatter than it did so yesterday.... Regards Bob

Hi... Y Yep totally agree....it was the only decision that could have been taken in the light of circumstances.....the only priority being everyone's safety at heart.....well done to all.... Regards as always... Bob

Santa had to remain in his grotto today, safely tucked away in the warmth....as we couldn't get to assist him due to it being too snowy and unsafe for us and our visitors to travel to Arley to see him, added to this fact a tree was down across the line and we suffered a power outage.....we as volunteers received notice of suspended services this morning at 7am......so hope to see you next weekend Santa... Regards Bob

Hi...Just to say that progress on Cambrian Street has slowed this week for no other reason than nothing more than nurturing a seasonal cold, which has made it difficult to continue to wire up or concentrate when you're perpetually coughing and sneezing beneath the boards......... Perhaps standing out in the fresh air tomorrow for 8 hrs or so, guiding our very welcome guests and visitors to see Santa will clear my head...! Have a great weekend guys... Regards as always.... Bob

Oh my Andi..... What a trauma you've encountered here ....hope that matters will be resolved soon, perhaps can only look at it that 'fate' has intervened to enable you to search again for the right property and 'home' that is waiting for you all.....? All the best as always.... Bob

Hi.... Although not strictly 'on topic' relating to pictures......for all 'weather nuts' like myself.....if you're not already aware.....the met office have digitalised the daily weather summary and associated charts and available online.... superb...! https://digital.nmla.metoffice.gov.uk/archive/sdb%3Acollection%7C86058de1-8d55-4bc5-8305-5698d0bd7e13/ Regards Bob

Evening All.... Hope as always, that you kind folk are okay....? Just an update to say that this evening marks the point where all the sections within the station area have been wired up and all the isolated sections appear to be working correctly when 'off or on' as required....... The next area to be wired up sectionally is more than likely to be the good yard.....so hopefully similar progress can be achieved here as within the station area......in conjunction with this and to maintain the interest / progress in the run up to scenic stuff within the station, I will be bringing the programme of researching and installing at least a test 'tube in wire' point lever into the equation...... Look what I found though lurking from the past within the bottom of a box......... I do have a gaugemaster footbridge kit (which is destined to be adapted for GWR style) intended for installation, but at least this old Hornby metal footbridge gives a taster of where this may sit and a huge amount of 'atmosophere' even in this raw state..... Regards as always guys... bob

Hi... I too nearly went 'base over apex' over a wheeled suitcase by someone who obviously had 6ft long arms as it was trailing so far behind! Bob -

Evening Hope all have had a good, if rather chilly weekend...? In addition to obtaining the above imitation totem for the layout whist at Warley.....purchased one or two build 'essentials' for progressing the wiring phase.....but also treated oneself to a Bachmann suburban brake coach and an irresistible GWR Railcar...the latter was available from the SVR stand....sadly one of my colleagues passed away recently and his extensive collection of models is now being used to raise funds for charity and the family..... So...I now possess a rake of three suburban coaches including a brake.... but the delight is the railcar Regards as always...have a great week... Bob

Hi..... I know that I may be biased...but 1450 looked lovely and the SVR stand seemed very busy.....it was a pleasure to to be able to support the Charitable Trust through the sale of Mike's collection.... Regards as always,,,, Bob

Hi.... I live out in the countryside, inhaling all sorts of smells all of the time, to which some I have (to borrow a commercial phrase) become 'nose blind' too....travelling into town it is noticeable that some urban areas are by comparison 'delightfully fragrant'....! It would be nice to think that please can we place to one side in the future all this 'schoolboy' toilet' nonsense and concentrate on the grown up exchange of views pertaining only to the show and its merits.....(rant over)..... Have just returned from the NEC and have had a very good experience.....arrived at 0835 and the queues were forming well before that but, well managed safely and courteously too..... Show in my humble view, good from all aspects that were of interest to myself.... Very busy seemingly, especially early on......went quieter after 1500 and much easier to view all the layouts in the final two hours, decided to do all the traders firstly, comfort and food breaks in between..... So good one guys...well done to all.... Regards as always... Bob -

Hi... Well at least if you do attend (as Mark Twain may have said) if you have good walk around the Hall on Saturday this won't be spoilt as much as it may be on Sunday if you're playing golf? Only kidding....have a great weekend either way... Regards Bob
