  1. Of course.......I should have realised.!!! Excellent....if nothing else I have prompted you to give us more
  2. And do they come ready motorised for £30, as are the Dapol units.? For many, the Dapol units score as they are RTR. Bob. P.S. Captain.....has anyone asked you for an explanation of the passage about the Prussian Grenadiers...am I missing something here, is there a hidden message within that you are trying to convey to us. I have read it a number of times, and as it is BOLD typed, and such a lot of it...I thought, there has to be something of great wisdom or wit contained. Or maybe not.?? Just curious. Bob.

  4. Hi Guys, I received the following email earlier today, via a pal. Bob 70s... 70019 (DFGI) has been despatched to Brush Traction at Loughborough for engine development testing work. The three Class 70s currently sidelined at Eastleigh; 70001 70008 and 70009, are there for inspection, in conjunction with GE, with regards fault finding and performance issues.

Hi Guys.......I just bought a Mashima 1624 and am going to embark upon fitting this into the clayton. All your instructions seem fine, ie drilling flywheels, overall length etc.,, but I am a little unclear as to how the motor lays in the chassis, i.e. are the two connectors to the side, i.e. horizontal. Is there anything else I need to know about fitting the motor in this area. Thanks.................Bob.
  6. Chelsea v Spurs......just watchin at the moment. Did it cross the line.....??? When will they use video evidence....its only a matter of time. Up the Alex...!!!
  7. No....dont apolgise......this is all good fun.....good that we can all enjoy a bit of banter. Bob.
  8. Hey RJS.......no offence meant mate. Some of my previous efforts are something to behold.........and I dont have a control panel yet, so I have no room to talk. Thanks for posting your panel. Bob.
  9. I wonder if his Dad knows he posted these pics.
  10. Andy, Even more stunning than it was 6 months ago.....don't disappear for so long next time. Bob
  11. I'm DCC, and certainly won't be put off using them......I have no intention of ever using DCC for signal and point control, I like the idea of a hands on control panel with buttons andlevers to pull. Bob
  12. Yes, just one capacitor does all you will need. Brians website has been a great help to me as well. Bob.
  13. I'm sure I read an email somewhere that said the repaired loco would not be coming back, as it could not be insured for running over here.??? Bob
  14. So not a major disaster as was thought then.??
  15. Did I hear that 70018 has some serious engine issues.??
  16. Hi Dave, Sorry to hear you were disappointed. When you say York is the Freightliner Class 70 depot, what facility do they have up there. And why York, as not many of them run in that part of the world do they.? Enlighten me, some of my pals have a need to know too. Bob.
  17. My understanding is that these locos go on to York from Midland Road, and infact dont spend anytime at all at MR. What is it at York that they go there for.? Bob

  19. Thanks Mick, When I checked earlier today, it wasnt showing on marine traffic.....I wont be going to see them unloaded, but some of my pals may make the trip Bob
  20. Hi Guys, I see that Atlantic Companion is nearing the coast of Ireland, about 200 miles off currently, this should put it in the vicinity of Liverpool sometime later tomorrow. Does anyone have an accurate eta, and unloading date.? Bob
  21. I have heard that the two locos have in fact been loaded aboard Atlantic Companion in New Jersey as earlier suggested........after it has made stops in Baltimore, Norfolk and Halifax, it will head our way, eta Thursday 16th or Fri 17th......but loco unloading not expected until the following Monday.? Bob
  22. Hi Dave, I have been tasked by our Rail Interest group (10 of us)......to keep them up to speed with the arrival of the class 70's.....purley because I tell what I learn off here, and they think I'm some sort of Admiral. But, they(including me probably), are going to try and get to Seaforth to see some of the arrivals this time.....it might be of interest, as shipping also interests some of them to a point. One or two of the group are still number crunchers.....and just wanna be first to see them. So hence my apparent over enthusiastic interest....which you could misconstrue as getting Frothy.......however, if I fail to get the appropriate information in good time, and we miss this opportunity, then I am likely to be demoted from Admiral within the group....probably keel hauled, and be swabbing decks for a few weeks. So bear with me on this occasion...this is not normal behaviour I do assure you.........anyway, are they on the b....y boat or not.? Bob
  23. It is has just set sail from New York.......d'ya reckon the 70's are on it.? Bob .
  24. I beleive that possibly the two class 70's are to be loaded aboard Atlantic Companion on Friday 3rd Feb......the vessel is in New York harbour. Any thoughts or confirmations welcome. Bob
