  1. "DCC requires just two wires to the track", so why have I got nearly 70 odd of the little darlings waving at me from under the boards?!

You are either doing it very wrong or you are doing it very right!

I'm a DC guy who likes the idea of DCC but every article I read seems to suggest more droppers (s8ds 'little darlings') are an imperative or new gadgetry is necessary. Maybe I don't fully understand what is required with DCC?

Cos I counted em Terry ;-P

Steve, to be honest the number of droppers is just a natural evolution of belt and braces, I actually changed to DCC halfway thru tracklaying and have saved on isolating sections and switches etc. Good DCC wiring is good practice for DC, Trust me if a clanky articifer can understand anyone can :)

  2. Back to the hobby after a 3yr break (not at her majesty's pleasure!) Where to restart, 30s GWR or carry on with the S&D?

Was there any sugar in the tea?  Will make the task much trickier if there was.

Cheers for the comments chaps, not too concerned as was plain track fiddle for a shunting plank. Good point re the sugar tho, glad I gave it up now! Could of have been worse, a rather fine tank car and a controller were either side of ground zero. A scenario many of us has experienced I suspect:D

My problem is so many ideas buzzing round but none of them fit in the space I have, and nothing I can come up with in the space I have "hits the spot". Short of reverting to N gauge I'm not sure what to do.
