    EBay madness

But an R3220 is an old model B12.... 🤔 And even that ain't worth £90!
  2. The Anglia and the Escort certainly did. Though who would want to pay for an escort from Halewood....
  3. Re-enactors don't want to be perforated, so they have regulation length poles with safety tips and tend to end up with something that looks more like a rugger scrum...
  4. Before heavier then air flight there were airships, rigid, semi rigid and non-rigid. They were stored in large sheds to protect them from wind and rain and when semi inflated, would hang from the roofing struts. Perhaps this might be where the term "hangers" as a storage shed for aeroplanes came from?
  5. Since you ask Perhaps it had been on the bottle....
  6. @Happy Hippo Referring back to your visit to Chirk Castle, here's a couple of snaps of the Civil War re-enactors I saw there on a visit... A Push of Pike The Vanquished FIRE! Very noisy....
  7. The one good thing about it is that after a while, it withers and drops off...
  8. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
  9. May I add that TomTom satnavs would tend to differ. If there's an apparent "shortcut", they'll send you down it!
  10. I Fought The Law - The Clash
  11. I've no sympathy, thats all your own fault... 🤪
  12. Just thought I'd share this pic of an amorous cactus..... (You should have seen the other cactus...)
  13. I was converted to VoIP a couple of years ago, when the BT exchange for the area was being switched off and everyone still with BT had to shift. At the time the sweetner was two basic cordless handsets, one fancy cordless handset or a converter box that would connect a conventional cordless handset system to the BT full fibre router. I went with the cheap cordless handset offer and picked up a converter box on ebay for less than BT wanted for one. If you wanted, a basic UPS with a few hours support was on offer for about 70 quid extra, which wouldn't be much use if the problem happened in the early hours of the morning and took longer than 4 hours to fix! If you had a health care system, you were advised to contact your provider... I've not had any problems (so far) with the VoIP system going off. I've got a mobile phone as it is, but as I'm not glued to it at all times, I have to remember to occasionally put it on charge. It'd be my luck for it to be flat if ever the VoIP connection went down!

  15. @kevinlms "Walked away seriously"? 🤔 Is that the sort of walk where the heels strike the floor very loudly? 🙃

Perhaps his nom-de-plume for this item should have been "The Little Antique Toy Shop of Horrors"... 🤔 🤪 Welllll..... 🤪
  17. Specific? 🤔 I suppose one answer might have been "its TOTALLY ****ed"...
  18. Beer used to be more like flavoured water, of little alcoholic content, especially "Small Beer" which would be drunk as we would drink bottled water nowadays. In towns, it would be preferable to the polluted water supplies and easier to obtain than boiling water to drink. It would be good to reverse the trend towards stronger and stronger beers and revert to the small ales of our forefathers. I don't count non-alcoholic concoctions as real beer, they're more like ultra processed foods... ION Just finished taking the vacuum cleaner for a walk upstairs and downstairs. Put the hiss and spit coffee machine on for some real coffee and time for a rest with a muggacoffee and a book... 🙂
  19. Would you like to be directed towards a suitable shed supplier? 🤔 🤪
  20. Every landing you walk away from is a successful "Ohhhh sh!!!!tt"....
  21. Dry this morning, but grey and unseasonably cool. Its almost MAY, where's the warm? Although next thing it'll be "Phew! What a scorcher!", with hosepipe bans and we'll be longing for some cool weather. Unless, that is, it turns into "The Year Without A Summer"...

  24. I've a decent "audio" system, currently composed of an AT turntable*, a Denon amp and column speakers**. There's also a DAB+/FM tuner, a CD player and a cassette deck. If you sit in the centre of the sofa, you are in the stereo image sweet spot... I daren't turn the volume up too much, though I should try to see how much 18th century organ music next door can tolerate! * Still got my Ortofon FF15E cartridge from the late 70s, still going strong, on its umpteenth "needle". ** Can't remember what they are.
