  1. Brilliant news that the TEA is to go into production. I for one have no need to have spring buffers, I am surprised by new tooled models still featuring them as they have no practical use and just add considerable cost to the model (along with coach lighting). These can be cared for in the after sales market, though I would prefer in an ideal world for the saving on things like spring buffers (£15) and coach lighting (£~60) to see that money saved on 'gimmicks' spent on extra fine detailing. But seeing the TEAs from yourselves have extra fine detailing, I am very excited by this project and shall order as soon as you allow me too. (Shall have Greenenergy, VTG Grey/Red and Freightliner for sure) I found this on the Revolutions website, certainly has helped me choose Colas and GBRf flows of TEAs: http://www.revolutiontrains.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/TEA-sample-consists.pdf Question? Shall you have a retailer as with the N gauge TEAs to allow purchase after delivery, or would you recommend I make an investment in a range of TEAs, with ones I do not want myself I release to the second hand market? (Guess depends on understanding the Rapido policy more to work out investment potential - do they mean there shall only ever be one batch run of the TEAs, or seeing as the tooling is made, future batches are to be released?)
  2. RRP now announced as £220, also, more eye catching is that 400 out of 500 have sold out at the pre-order stage! If you want one, Id suggest emailing. Talking of email, I have emailed Locomotion several times, with no reply, so maybe telephone them if you want to confirm an order?
  3. The RRP of the Bachmann SWT 450 has been announced as £299.95, a relief it is not £400! This represents a 37% increase over a three year cycle which should of been 60%. Though I am not pleased to pay £254 (15% off rrp) for the 450, I am pleased Bachmann have tried to minimise the cost as much as possible. In context, the S-Stock 4 car cost £280 in this financial year, and came without as much detail as the 450, and without working coach lights. Just shame they are still planning to release the weathered version as surely this poll highlights greater demand for an additional pristine 450. Question: if you are going to pay £254 for a 450, would you want it weathered or pristine?
  4. Appears the BR Green 4D-006-004 has sold out at most major retailers. Might suggest it is a rather superb model after all!
  5. Perhaps we might find Oxford Rail new Mk3s a better manufacturer to lobby, seeing as they have not tooled yet, could always have the plug door tooling included.... I have mentioned this to Oxfords, be brilliant if we all lobbied. I have bought up some Wrexham & Shropshire DVTs and debranded them, along with spraying up some Mk3s - but really do need the plug dooring. Have you also seen the new branding on the Banbury set? Hornby could do that livery as no plug doors. https://www.flickr.com/photos/36593372@N04/24507834111/
  6. Last weekend it was commented from Dapol that the factory produced livery samples of Scotrail and DRS are due in 'March', adding Model Rail Scotland's comment 'repainted especially for Model Rail Scotland 2016' we can conclude is the one of the early EP or first shots which has been re-sprayed. Thus grills, windows, extras, etc, have all been re-fitted and shall not show the quality of the factory produced. That being said, this re-spray and printed decal sheets do look cracking in the hi-res photos linked above. I hope this can be noted in all posts, as this model, though a re-spray, looks superb !
  7. Even higher res. on the site, but do note 'repainted especially for Model Rail Scotland 2016': https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1148546961825131&id=469130056433495 Stunning!
  8. Though not specific, it is related. The VTEC Mk3 coaches artwork is now uploaded in the correct livery. Without giving away private emails, Hornby 'are aware and confirmed to do VTEC livery correctly' - but take that as you shall, but hopefully livery is sorted and Hornby seem to be aware and keen. http://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/new-for-2016/coaches/virgin-rail-east-coast-mk3-tso.html
  9. Perhaps some balance please? I do not see how or why the perceived and long reported issues you claim of the 73 have anything to do with an entirely different project, under circumstances none of us are aware of. Perhaps rather than your negativity, if you want to see a 'perfect' Class 122 you are proactive in giving constructive comment on the EP samples directly to Dapol. Perhaps you can do some enjoyable and interesting research on the Class 122 and present your findings to Dapol in order to only make the model more enjoyable for all. I do not ever expect everyone to be academic and do their own research before they contact a manufacturer, but I would hope we remind ourselves this is only a model and perhaps we need to keep negativity to ourselves. Please. I am very tired of it all. This is the Class 121/122 thread, and should keep to that. For now, the samples seen look superb, it has inspired me to pre-order one of the exclusive Chiltern 121s with eHatton at good price, if you have some particular concern on the shown samples I am sure Dapol would be very keen to hear from an expert modeller.
  10. Would anyone has a photo of specifically the 121/122 and know did Dapol say are they first shot or first EP? I am really pleased to see this advance. Wonder are all the LTD liveries with eHattons still confirmed to be produced? (I think the pre-order prices are going to prove utter bargain prices!) http://www.ehattons.com/stocklist/1000396/1000588/1000673/0/Dapol_OO_Gauge_1_76_Scale_DMUs/prodlist.aspx Though I was after the Network Rail 122 with Kernow (which is now cancelled, as reported a few years ago), perhaps someone can do this along with the SWT route learner 121?
  11. This photo was hiding over in a prototype thread. Good to see the IDAs are 1st EP too!
  12. Noted this over on a prototype thread, looks like good progress on the 121 & 122. Whether it is first shots or first EP I hope someone can confirm who was there. Good to see this is going ahead, as the liveries and detailing differences between the 121 and 122, make the original Dapol announcement over the Bachmann one far more attractive. No doubt more information in Dapol's post show press release?
  13. Superb wagons, and it is a nice touch Drax has issued the first 500 of each wagon to modellers. (0-500). Wonder is Freightliner watching this development as I really want the Superliner wagons and I doubt more than 500 other modellers do!
  14. Have any of the retailers got behind it and expressed interest in bulk? I would think getting the larger volume retailers to commit a big order might be an achievable way forward? Otherwise is it sadly looking like modern wagons which a niche customer would like to see run need to hold out for limited commissions and high prices like the Biomass wagons? I personally would be okay with a high price, knowing I am getting the models I want to run. Hopefully in the last hours, enough interest shall be achieved for this fantastic project to continue.
  15. I c&p from the link for you, should work: mailto:trains@oxforddiecast.co.uk
  16. Their webpage: http://www.oxfordrail.com/has a URI mailto link on the 'Request For Information'
  17. I personally rather welcome this. These wagons are very niche and thus would of never appeared in a manufacturers catalogue. I wonder shall other railway operators be watching this with an eye to commission corporate gifts, with a minimum order needed for Hornby or Dapol or Bachmann to cover costs of production. I think knowing these are only ever to be made, makes them exclusive and I shall wait until Drax confirm they shall not sell the tooling to a manufacturer before I buy. A cool £664 for eight better mean they shall never be made again!
  18. I read the magazine today and to add to the information R6723 shall be 'Drax' swoosh livery and R6724 shall be 'Powering Tomorrow' livery. They do look fantastic in the magazine. (Shall say £40,000 for tooling does sound rather cheap! Design work, tooling, production costs, taxes.... you shall be looking more like many more times that cost - rrp £50 ish mark I am planning for)
  19. That is brilliant news! I put myself down for the Greenenergy (I think for two lots) and either the EWS or Red ones. I cannot remember now, but I shall buy what I said I would. The N gauge ones look brilliant and the digital design of these looks promising too. Perhaps once you have learned the OO market, seeing as it significantly bigger than N gauge....there might be a chance of 'super-sizing' the log wagon
  20. Of course Earlier back in this thread I posted this: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/54082-new-oo-gauge-class-73/?p=1980634 Best general email would be sales@Dapol.co.uk, any email to Joel, Andy or Richard . Social media is 'The Facebook' - Social media is not for me either, but, Dapol's page is open to the public and looking down 'Visitors Posts' all the information ever needed is there. Emails, about the 'Contact us' page, as well as interesting information on up coming products. Follow this link, and open the comments: https://www.facebook.com/Dapol-Ltd-214563285228094/posts_to_page/
  21. Might I be nosey and ask how the expressions of interest are being received? All fingers crossed these shall proceed.
  22. Hear hear! Second batch shall be something for us all to look forward too. Those like me overjoyed with the outstanding GBRf 73s through Olivias and those who want their livery etc correct. (Though I confess I do now look forward to reading the daily moan!) Would you consider retracting your previous comments towards Dapol's communication. Two pieces of information which are to be found on this forum and Dapol's social media, make the error in your attempt to communicate with Dapol clear. First, social media confirms Dapol have had problems with their website's 'contact us' section. Secondly, having this published on social media and voiced on this forum, always best to email the Gentlemen of Dapol directly through their well published email addresses.
  23. Odd as I find the team at Dapol nothing but true Gentleman, always taking the time to communicate via email. The odd part is that when I have emailed Bachmann in the past I get a 'on the fence' reply usually weeks later which says utterly nothing to address my question and well, Hornby, sometimes they answer within a month, other times not. I then begin to think, how many emails I receive and how some, to no fault of my own, escape me.
  24. What page number please? I have looked over and over the magazine yet still cannot see the CAD. Brilliant it has progressed though, seeing at Warley they said they doubt it shall be anytime soon. Hopefully several yellow ones for a modern day engineers train soon!
