  1. Beauty! (and good to see 43312 confirmed with the set) Just a shame one is already on eBay for £399 whilst you can get one at Locomotion... But does mean, ours might arrive tomorrow. I am going to be like an excited dog waiting for the postman.
  2. What a relief! I have been rather nervous about how these were going to turn out (Hornby are not know for livery matching), but that looks utterly superb! i like the attention to detail in removing the exhaust hood and what appears to be etched nameplates (absent from Harry Patch). Appears the delivery must of arrived a day early. In the email to reservists, the delivery was expected on Wednesday 20th with dispatch starting then, until the 22nd where by there would be a break until 1st Aug due to some event on at Locomotion. Hopefully with its arrival a day early, reservists who ordered on immediate receipt of the email shall be more satisfied if one turned up in the post tomorrow
  3. It is very good to have read your post. I too for a long time have found my 73s (3 x GBRf 73204, 73206 and 73141) a highly rewarding purchase. Over on the Dapol Digest, Joel confirmed more 73s are currently under development. Thus, I do highly recommend to get over to the Digest and start making similar comments to yours here, when samples are shown and the second batch liveries are announced. Currently sounds as if a SWT livery shall feature. After all, the Digest is for us as customers to constructively discuss together the features, details and liveries which shall satisfy the general consensus of customers and modellers. https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/forum/main-forum/diesel-aa/class-73-aa/639-more-class-73-0-liveries
  4. I shall copy over 100% fact and not speculation as reported yesterday directly from a telephone conversation with the Exclusives team at the LTM:
  5. I do not see any of these posts being relevant to the LTM 66/7s specifically. There is actually nothing factual since I reported the facts from my direct telephone conversation with them: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/105510-Bachmann-lt-museum-667s/?p=2368298 We were asked yesterday to follow the following: Please can we all remember the LTM is a charity, support it or don't. Either way, please do not ruin another thread by the circular discussion about price. No, that is correct, but is it morally acceptable to allow a charity to cover the price rise for you? Consider donating the additional £16 to the LTM with gift aid. The LTM is a charity (number 1123122), donations can be made here: http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/support-us/make-a-donation
  6. I know I could wait the week, yet I shall cease the moment to ask. What is the running number of the standard livery 43 which goes with 43238? It was 43312 (I seem to recall) which ran with 43238 at the launch, but was some time ago. Could be confused with the standard Hornby release which includes 43312.
  7. I am delighted at read you are proud to support a superb charity (and Locomotion). When they call to confirm my card details around late August/early September I shall ask them about gift aid and ask whether I can donate the additional £16.04 as otherwise they shall be losing that money. Which in the end might hinder further model rail projects from them to support the fundraising of the charity. I never thought to ask them about gift-aid, thanks for the suggestion
  8. ****CONFIRMATION**** There is a lot of mis-information on here. Thus I called the LTM. Alas they are not in stock, nor are they being dispatched to those (who like me) ordered at the NEC in November 2015. Any emails refereed to by posters, would be from the LTM to those who 'pre-registered' their interest since January and invited them to pre-order (and pay) for the model. Those like me who have ordered at Warley or through mail order shall be contacted by phone before dispatch to confirm our card details and make sure we have the funds available. Latest indications of delivery is late August for early dispatch in September. All pre-orders online shall be after Warley customers. These are only indication dates and we are encouraged to review the website for confirmed delivery times later in to August. ****Personal Thoughts***** Can we please not have another moaning thread about price rises, it is very tiresome. Cannot afford, do not buy, you shall not die. The simple facts are: The LTM are a charity and thus are not going to cover price rises. (Ideally every customer ordering should be proud to support such a wonderful charity, keeping the history of the London Underground alive.) Yes I am personally uncomfortable moaning about the price when regarding a charity, you should be more than willing to support a charity. I certainly shall be paying the difference from my original confirmed price of £153.95 as I am proud to support the efforts of the LTM. Another fact: the UK voted for Brexit, the warnings were clear...price would increase for goods, which is not just about the pound falling, but the potential of the UK economy and its impacts into the global economy. The UK is now uncertain to invest in, uncertainty = price rise. Discussing the impact of Brexit with my contacts in the model railway industry state we are immediately all looking at around a 10% rise in price due to how uncertain the economic outlook is as well as consumer spending power has dropped significantly since the vote. I invite anyone who is concerned about price increases to not moan here but immediately write to your MP to make sure they understand you have re-considered your political position. Remember that the £16.04 increase secures the funding planning the LTM. Which allows a charity to justify such projects in the first place. All profits from such projects are all invested into the operations of the charity for the nation to enjoy their superb efforts.
  9. I think devious is a little strong to say. The LTM is a charity and runs a shop to raise money for its charity actives. Bachmann would of had a price increase for the 66 when leaving China and I do not think it would be reasonable for a charity to take this cost rise and fairly reasonable it has been put onto the customer. The price rise is firmly at Bachmanns door.
  10. Aye, Ive been lobbying Oxfords to release the VTEC livery asap. But I feel we are going to miss out to the older liveries which are 'hugely popular'. Good to hear someone else also wishes to see VTEC from Oxfords. Been confirmed the limited edition certificate is linked to time of order and not time of reserving. Thus might of missed out on 238/500 but likely be in the lower figure 1-20/500
  11. Sorry if there has been confusion. A 9 car IEP offers 18% more seating over a Intercity 225 and 30% over a Intercity 125. Best not provide specific seat numbers, as both Agility Trains East and West provision is subject to change under request of the TOC (Virgin/Stagecoach and First), the 9 car IEP was to be 627 seats but shall change with Virgin wanting a shop. What I do know a 10 car IEP (2 x 5 car) up the ECML offers the same amount of seats than a 9 car IEP. The confirmed seating for the similar Eversholt 802s is 326 in the 5 car (652 in 10 car) and 655 in the 9 car. Your example of York, I shall hopefully de-confuse. London to York 10 car IEP (of 1 x bi mode and 1 x electric). Detaches at York for 1 x electric remains in York for next incoming bi-mode. 1 x bi mode continues off the ECML to Harrogate. Now of course there is a huge difference in the peak and off peak. Off peak, many 5 car services shall be enough. eg. Lincoln every two hours. There is a huge increase in seating capacity from 2018-19 on ECML services from IEP introduction. Met by new trains with significantly more seats, more frequent services and new services currently not provided. (Point of Sunderland is to recover the ORCATS raid from Arriva Grand Central back into the franchisee) And last point, the IEP contract allows for additional cars to be ordered and inserted into current sets of up to 12 cars. Thus (subject to financial arrangement) the future is proofed.
  12. The pre-series units (12 of them in total) shall be in Hitachi grey. For franchises to re-vinyl/livery to the terms of their contracts with Agility Trains East or West. I have had several assurances the fleet introduction of IEP units shall not run in service in grey. Hitachi, through Agility, have agreed to brand a couple of the pre-series units with clients PR branding. We have seen 800001 in 'Hitachi class 800', 800002 in 'Hitachi Inspire the Next', 800004 in 'GWR' and 800101 in 'Virgin Red Curtain Azuma'. The pre-series (and likely all of the GWR) IEP sets are being delivered in the DfT signed of grey livery. It shall change paint colour, likely once we have the new GWR franchise. Utterly nothing to do with Virgin at all. All class 800/801s AT300 SETs are being delivered under the DfTs IEP to Agility Trains. All decisions fully at the door of the government. You are replacing 414 coaches of today with 497 coaches of IEP. Secondly, most mainline ECML IEP diagrams shall be 10 car, with splitting occurring en route. With the electric 5 car terminating and the 5 car bi-mode continuing along the non-electrified route. I do not think either Lincoln, Harrogate, Bradford, Sunderland, Huddersfield, Middlesborough or Hull need 9 car units to meet demand. The ECML shall be a high frequency line under IEP timetable. Massive increase in seats, even under 5 car units.
  13. The Virgin Trains East Coast fleet livery has not been announced. The livery held on 800101 was the publicity 'Azuma' livery for the launch event. If you study the livery, it is attempting to look as a curtain unveiling the Azuma. Full VTEC livery on the IEP 800/801s shall not be seen for at least another year or more, Virgin shall want to keep the full livery private until the highest potential PR can be made. (Delivery not until 2018). But of course, the GWR livery truly does look outstanding - if it was not vinyl, imagine how much more so! Sadly all GWR IEP delivered units currently are doing to be vinyled as DfT won't sign off on delivering them in GWR - saying no livery decision until the full franchise is let (Which should not be confused with the DfT spec on franchise branding to run through different franchises). GWR Eversholt units shall be delivered in GWR green. One hopes now the vinyl has been seen by the DfT they might agree to signing off on the production units being delivered green, as desired by First GWR. Also interesting sentence in the press release (as interiors are a little grey and basic - seats firm):
  14. It might, we do get grumpy with age! (I only tease...it is iconic design) But the AT300 looks utterly stunning and shall be a recognisable design classic in 27.5 years time too. Frankly or perhaps I should say *boldly* I am in love with the GWR AT300 - stunning! Can I have one, if not the million dollar one.....Ill settle for 1:76 the scale!
  15. It was bugging me not listing! Virgin Trains East Coast 5 car Hitachi AT300 for IEP (just list predominant destinations): 800201–210 (Bi-Mode) (8 diagrammed STC) Lincoln, Harrogate, Sunderland, Huddersfield, Middlesborough, Hull, Stirling, Aberdeen, Inverness (Peak and popular off peak: Scottish service with 5 car electric to Edinburgh; England service with 5 car electric to York, Newcastle) 801101–112 (Electric) (10 diagrammed STC) York, Bradford, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow (Peak and popular off peak: Scottish service with 5 car bi-mode to Edinburgh; England service with 5 car bi-mode to York, Newcastle) Virgin Trains East Coast 9 car Hitachi AT300 for IEP: 800101–113 (Bi-Mode) (10-11 diagrammed STC) Aberdeen, Inverness (suspect on peak England services of 5 car bi-mode too) 801201–230 (Electric) (27 diagrammed STC) Edinburgh, Glasgow (First) Transpennine Express 5 car Hitachi AT300 for Eversholt (All Bi-Mode): Unit numbers not announced. Expected 802 series. 802029-802048 or 802301-8023019 Liverpool - Newcastle - Edinburgh (First) Hull Trains 5 car Hitachi AT300 for Eversholt (All Bi-Mode): Unit numbers not announced. Expected 802 series. 802023-802028 or 802201-802205 London - Hull
  16. GWR 5 car Hitachi AT300 for IEP and Eversholt (All bi-mode - see notes on 801/0): 800001-800036 (IEP) (31-32 diagrammed STC) Weston-super-Mare (via Bristol Parkway), Bristol (via Bristol Parkway), Cardiff, Cotswolds (Gloucester & Cheltenham) and Exeter (Peak only via Weston-super-Mare). 802001-802022 (Eversholt) (19 diagrammed STC) Penzance, Plymouth (1.5 hourly) and Cotswolds (Gloucester & Cheltenham - increasing Peak and popular off peak to 10 car with 800001-800036). GWR 9 car Hitachi AT300 for IEP and Eversholt: 801001-801021 (IEP) (Were to be full electric SETs/AT300s - but due to electrification delays now delivered as bi-mode) (17-18 diagrammed STC) Bristol (via Bath) and Swansea. 802101-802107 (Eversholt) (expecting an additional 9 to be confirmed shortly up to 802116) (5 diagrammed STC) Plymouth. (Stopping service two hourly) (802108-802116 - expected to initially operate Oxford and Westbury). Getting exciting for the seismic change on GWR from July 2017! (No doubt as per HS1, there shall be a 'introductory shuttle' service to Bristol as there shall be a significant proposition of the 800/0 fleet in the UK within 12 months) Virgin Trains East Coast have an exclusive IEP Hitachi AT300/SET fleet. In a range of 5 car electric and bi-mode and 9 car electric and bi mode. (Happily list) (First) Transpennine Express have an exclusive Eversholt IEP Hitachi AT300/SET fleet, all 5 car bi-mode range. (First) Hull Trains have an exclusive Eversholt IEP Hitachi AT300/SET fleet, all 5 car bi-mode range.
  17. This is a huge shame. I bought the FGW 143 as to help sales though I have a primary interest in the Wessex Trains Visit Bristol 143 which was originally stated as an aim for 2013 after the FGW in 2012. Just to assure me, though you do not plan more 143s for the next two years, we shall eventually have Wessex Trains?
  18. I have no worries about when they shall arrive or what happened to my order. After Warley I emailed Michael who confirmed the paper order for me. I occasionally email to ask whether progress is being made, and assured that the LTM is taking time to make these spot on perfect. Just I personally rather pay, than have the money earning 0.0001% in the bank. Called today to update my card details, shall be charged once in stock. With the promise to those who ordered at Warley would receive theirs first. Told currently no expected arrival date, they are working hard to make these to the standard the museum expects. There shall be plenty to buy in the LTM stores and online once released, thus everyone who did not order at Warley or buy on pre-order shall be able to purchase one. Advise to sign up to the notification on the website to know as soon as in stock.

    Class 59 in 00

Thank you for the list, this shall keep me busy with google tonight! Sounds if we need multiple wagons to please us all.

    Class 59 in 00

I have been wondering about wagons for the 59 too, I keep getting distracted by looking at the latest JNA and MMAs! What wagons would ideally suit the widest time of operation? As I would be interested in AI, DBS and Hanson liveries, I hope the wagons have seen a long period of service to satisfy all modellers. I did ask over on the digest, someone said that a certain manafacturer has already produced the 'national power' wagons, but google says no!
  21. Were you able to pay when you called? I am in the same situation as you, my card details have expired and I need to update now. I have had the occasional email to confirm my order from Warley, but would really just like to pay in full ASAP....then sit back and wait for them to arrive when ready.
  22. I'd love to see a Class 444. But, alas, I do not see it happening anytime soon. Perhaps in the future when today's railway, which shall be yesterday's, we shall see all we want. I hope! Would love a 442 Wessex before the 444 though! Now that is hoping. I would buy two Class 450s from Bachmann if they listened that not really anyone wants one weathered!
  23. I do not think this has been said. Was reading Rail Express Modeller magazine and... Oxfords have confirmed the Mk3 Loco-hauled shall be produced first, 1st EP in October. To include a FO, TSO and two different buffet toolings. Liveries announced later on once poll has been analysed. They shall produce enough coaches with different running numbers to make a prototypical rake. HST Mk3s due to start in January allowing for all the detailed differences from the loco-haulled. Every difference with buffet coaches shall be produced, eventually. Sleeper stock is on the cards, with all variations, along with the Network Rail New Measurement Train. There is a strong possibility of LHCS with plug doors shall be produced, in time, for Chiltern and Scotrail. Livery matching between an accurate livery or matching to a locomotive, it said Oxford were leaning towards the former! Basically it seems the tooling shall allow for all differences to be modelled with slides. Brilliant hey! Just sad the HST Mk3s won't be matched to Hornby HST 43s Just means I won't buy any HST stock (well the NMT!). Loco-hauled accurate livery seems logical as several different manufacturers making locomotives for LHCS.
  24. Yes, looked nice in the Bachmann Times, but tiny photo. I was told the tooling would be on show at DEMU by Bachmann but Burton is too far for me to travel too. Either way, certainly hope to see it at the GCR next week. Hopefully livery samples soon, then production before the year is out! I also note that this poll still strongly favours both releases in pristine rather than weathered. Fingers crossed democracy works!
  25. Did anyone see the 450 tooling/sample at DEMU and would be happy to share a photo? I understand it was being displayed? Thanks
