  1. I have one of those brake vans ready for re-wheeling for the kids layout, maybe I should sell it instead at that price
  2. Definetly a self inflicted wound waiting to happen, when I had bought something from this vendor I got the same speil via email and it made me scrutinise and think about feedback and ratings alot more than I usually do
  3. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300514607449&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Another one with the word rare, pretty sure it is not as it is one of the more regular old GEM offerings on ebay, amusing BIN price as one just went for £26.35
  4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-LIMITED-PRODUCTION-BOXED-AIRFIX-00-BRAKE-VAN-/160532046061?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item256074a0ed Flabergasted, apparently rare yet there is another half dozen listed in boxes
  5. Phil, My comments were not attacking the vendor, clearly a superb ebayer with over 2600 feedback in the last 12 months and not a single negative or neautral among them, merely I am just shocked as to how much the item got, especially as I have been watching over the past few years the same items coming up and going for much less, clearly two people wanted it and congratulations to groovychick on a good result I might add that my comment about suspicious bidding on my secondary post did not regard this lady David
  6. I have got 2 of these.....must get them on Ebay, as you say George would have been staggered at the price, but they are rare now in un-built form, quite a nice kit anyway. Ebay has surprises, but often these prices have a stack of bidding, there is interest, and if people want an item they will pay for it. The annoying ones are the high start prices, and plain ludicrous reserves some sellers start with, quite out of step with comparable items. The other nuisance are private listings where false bidding is obviously being used to force prices up, quite illegal but done widely.especially on HK listings etc , mainly for new electrical items. Stephen. I have two to build and one bought built which was beautifully done, part of the many kits for next year I hear what you say about the high start prices as a seller has listed an L1 chassis starting at £19.99 which I thought was high, and amazingly it is up to £26 with a couple of hours to go, more than I would be willing to pay by far Ebay do need to look at the private listing and review if it was a good idea as several railway and non railway items I have looked at seem to be going up suspiciously recently
  7. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350420027489&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Watched the above kit finish earlier today and am just shocked at the final amount Have bought three myself in recent times and never paid more than £15 including postage George would be astounded at that price
  8. A short guy is sitting at a bar just staring at his drink for half an hour when this big, trouble-making biker steps next to him, grabs his drink, gulps it down in one swig and then turns to the guy with a menacing stare as if to say, 'What'cha gonna do about it?" The poor little guy starts crying. "Come on man, I was just giving you a hard time," the biker says. "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand to see a man crying.""This is the worst day of my life," says the little guy between sobs. "I can't do anything right. I overslept and was late to an important meeting, so my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car was stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home." He continues, crying even harder. "Then I found my wife in bed with the gardener and my dog bit me. So, I came to this bar trying to work up the courage to put an end to my life, and then you show up and drank the damn poison."
  9. Beware the rabbits, i brought mine in for a warm last night while i changed their bedding and the cheeky boys had got onto the sofa and were sprawled right across my seat on the sofa I have been evicted Minus 1 in Kettering and Snow is on the way the latest shows!!!!!!!
  10. Football aspect aside, the Irish I would assume stand to lose a large chuck of money from being cheated out of not being at the world cup finals. Would there be a case for the Irish FA to bring in court for compensation that they have been cheated out of this revenue? This said i suppose to be able to win the case they have to be able to prove that they could have won the game, not easily done. Since FIFA decided to seed the play offs to seemingly try and help the big names who had not done well at the group stages this World cup has become sadly lacking, It will be intresting to see if they continue with this format at the next world cup, unless of course the big crowd pulling names are through and there is no need to interfere to guarentee the viewing figures
  11. Hi Peter Llanbourne is a great layout, really reminds me of both llandudno and the Junction, feels like I am back in North Wales in my youth days with the Crosville buses running about Will the extension works allow you to run Freighliner trains as found on the N Wales coast?
