Hornby 2022 Range - pre-announcement frothing - now closed
BlueLightning replied to Bendax88's topic in Hornby
I will reread my email when I'm back in the shop, In the meantime I'll concede it's quite likely I would be the one wrong in this situation, I didn't have any outstanding orders with Hornby, or plans to order anything before the announcements, so only read it once, which is a rather low number of reads for me! -

Hornby's appears "earlier" in my subscription feed, meaning they scheduled their slot first, judging by the videos in between by a couple of hours at least -

With the latest price rises I got an email from Hornby at my shop saying prices for any existing orders would stay the same, and that I had another week to order at the old price, can't say about previous prices rises, as I haven't been at the shop that long. Gary -

Rapido have said that there's will work with Hornby's coaches, so I wouldn't worry too much about that -
It's the weekend again, and we will be having a very different livestream this weekend, we will be playing a train simulator called Railroads Online, which is based around 19th century US 3ft industrial railways, and allows anyone with a copy of the game to join in (providing they have the password for the world) so we are hoping for lots of people to come and play! I will be back with the link tomorrow, until then I have the review from the livestream 2 weeks ago for you to enjoy! I'll try to be back later with my written review of 2021 in modelling! So I'll see you then! Gary

Hi Bob, Great to see you posting again, I hope you are well my friend? I second the recommendation for a Peco LK-55, just got one into my shop. (I part own a model shop now!), having not been able to get them from Peco for quite a while, it is a very nice kit and quite simple to setup, and as Phil says, Peco do a motorising kit as well. Gary

Yes........ Rapido, who have been at it long enough to have gotten the right to the Titfield Thunderbolt, which Hornby didn't because Rapido already had them are making announcement just in case Hornby announce something that they have already announced............. Gonna be honest here, I'm not sure I follow the logic

Well I will not be livestreaming tonight, I woke up this morning not feeling great, and I still don't one of the things wrong is an odd feeling in my throat, there was a tightness there this morning, but that went away quickly, to be replaced by this feeling that I can't quite describe, so I'm not sure I can manage 3 hours talking to a microphone. I'm going to go take a Covid test, not that I actually think that's what it is, hope you are all well! Gary

You'll be wanting to model the Sunny South Express then It was often hauled on the LBSC section by an I3 so there are some photos in the LBSCR Atlantic book by Jeremy English I have spoke to people about having the correct pattern carriages made as kits in the past, but so far this has led nowhere, perhaps more people being interested could change that, the carriages used were narrower than most LNWR stock to meet the restricted loading gauge as the train went into SECR territory Gary
