Thanks AForce, i don't go on Facebook that much so didn't see that. There are so many "fishing" emails around at the moment it's safer to be suspicious. I've preorders as well so i think i'll leave logging into the new site for a while and hopefully they will sort out the transfer issues. Jim

As long as the paperwork is filled in correctly there will be no need to pay import duties or VAT for sending the Loco back to the UK, or when they return it after repair. You can send items back for repair or replacement and have them returned without the charges. They just need to be clearly marked as being returned for repair, or being returned from repair, and covered by a proforma invoice saying that with a very small value just to keep the systems happy (they often won't let you put a value of 0). We do it at work no problems, to and from the EU and the US. Rails should be able to do all the paperwork for you and send you a label, all you might have to do is phone the local depot of the courier they are using and book a time for them to collect the parcel. Anywhere that sells internationally should be able to handle international returns. Jim

Since I've already got one of your first batch of sound fitted Terriers , is it possible to know what has been changed, and if the change should be retrofitted to the earlier locos ? Many thanks, Jim

Was the sound still running when it wouldn't start ? Mine did that a few times from new but after a few runs backwards and forwards down my 2m test track it seemed to be ok. I assumed it just needed running in but i don't have anything to do that on at the moment. I might test it a bit more, don't want to find out once the warranty has expired that it has an issue. Jim

My 1st sound fitted one has just arrived. Thankfully, no issues that i can see. The join in the roof is annoying but not as noticeable on the black. Will test it running later. If you get yours and the box rattles, don't worry straight away, it's just the spare DCC blanking pcb they put in the plastic packing. Jim

Just had a dispatched email for my sound fitted one. After seeing all the faults mention here i had almost cancelled it. I just have my fingers crossed that while they were fitting the sound that they gave it a good inspection as well. Jim

I had the same problem, i got around it by finding the flexy track in the configuration files on the hard drive, copying the 1 yard length details and making the length 4 yards. This gives you a long length of flexy that should go right round most bends and can be cut to length or angle. Ideally the flexy track would give you an unlimited length but divide it up into standard lengths, or, let you add another length inline with the end. Jim

I agree with pretty much all of the above, i've returned around 6 locos to ebay for not being as described, ebay have always given me a full refund, in one case the seller didn't even want the loco back !. I don't bother discussing it will the seller before i open a case, just open the return and then discuss it through there, that way Ebay see everything you've both said. The only thing i would say is keep it simple when you ask for the return, it makes a grinding noise and doesn't work on DCC as it was suppose to, therefore is it not as described and you want to return it, that's enough. The Ebay people won't know what DCC is or really understand why you took it apart so don't tell them, or the seller unless he asks you to check. By telling the seller you took it apart that may have just given the seller enough ammunition to not accept the return. But, you will probably still win. Jim

I received my 10202 today with 2 sets of gate stock. I paid straight away when they asked for the pre-payment. Unfortunately the Bulleid is damaged so it's on it's way back to them tomorrow. Squashed cab handrail plus the cab glazing pushed in. I hope that doesn't put me back to the end of the queue. Jim

But, it's not within Ebays rules tp refuse to accept Paypal on collections. I recently had an auction pulled by Ebay for exactly that reason, i had specified in the auction description that i wouldn't accept Paypal as payment method as it was a collection only item. They said "We've determined that some of your listings haven't followed our Accepted Payments policy. Therefore, we had to take the following actions: - Listings that didn't follow our policies have been removed. A list of removed item(s) is available further down in this email. - We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s). Sellers are required to accept payment via the methods offered in the Payment Details section of their listing. Discouraging buyers from paying via these methods isn't allowed. Sellers may be required to offer PayPal or a merchant credit card as a payment method. Sellers shouldn’t tell buyers that they accept only certain forms of PayPal or certain credit cards. If you offer PayPal as a payment method in a listing, you are required to accept all forms of PayPal payment options without restrictions." There was a tick box for paypal as a payment method when i was creating the listing but if you unticked it a message comes up when you try to post the listing that you must accept paypal as a payment option. A lot of buyers using Ebay think that multiple bids by the same person means that the seller has somebody shill bidding on their own auction to push up the price. Some buyers use this to their advantage by making lots of small incremental bids and putting off some of the other bidders. I think this is what he is aiming that sentence at. Jim

Ebay often give away free listings that you have to use within a certain timescale, the ones they send me only seem to be valid for a few days. I think these strange listings are made using the free listings to avoid loosing them, and then updated later when the seller has some items to list. Jim

There seems to be some confusion over the H class in the Hornby train pack R3512 On Hornby and Hattons it's listed as early emblem but the pictures have the late crest and also part of the Hornby description says late crest. Early would make more sense to me as there's already the late crest H class R3539 but no early emblem one. Anybody know ? Many thanks, Jim

I've just realised that by pre-ordering R6737 and R6737A from Hornby when they were announced it's cost me another £9 Pre-orders can only have 1 item per order and so these are under the £30 for free postage. So that's £4.48 (£4.98-10% club discount) postage on each one. If i order them both now from the web site i'd get them on the same order and free postage. Won't make that mistake again. Jim
