  1. Latest news update from the AC Locomotive Group and LSL. https://www.aclocogroup.co.uk/index.php/latest-news/133-89001-s-return-to-mainline-status-secured Exciting times ahead.
  2. Pleased to report my model made it to Western Australia safely with no damage or loose parts at all. Phew I can only echo many previous comments regarding the packaging, extremely flimsy outer box which had suffered badly during transit. It’s a lovely model and I’m glad to have received a fault free (so far) example. It’s such a shame that many others weren’t able to take ownership of a model they’d been so looking forward too. There’s always room for improvement, surely Hornby must realise this and act on it? This could have/should have been one of their most memorable releases.
  3. Nor me for a delivery to Australia. I was looking forward to this release but after some of the recent posts I’m starting to become a bit apprehensive about it. All I can do is wait and see, fingers crossed!
  4. Now that is one working I don’t recall. More than happy to be corrected. What great knowledge our members have.
  5. D1015 worked revenue earning freight for EWS working off St Blazey in late August 2002 and then again, albeit moving stored wagons in October(?) 2009 for Colas Rail. Not sure if there’s been any since…
  6. Hi Fran & co I’d just like to echo some of the above comments, simply stunning. The images just prove there’s been no rush in the pursuit of perfection. It’s been nearly 23 years since I drove these with RFD and they scream out 92s to me without a doubt. You’ve captured the looks and styling perfectly. I’ve already got a couple on order with you and the extra time until delivery gives me more time to justify another! Looking forward to these more than ever now.
  7. Hi Chris, That’s good to read. Many thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated.
  8. Hi Chris, Just a quick question if I may? Does the data transferral include the details of those who (like myself) have registered an interest in the potential model of the Class 89? Apologies if this seems like a silly question. Kind regards.
  9. Without wanting to bore everyone you can also add HBA 368113 to the list of wagons that had Loadhaul orange painted cradles.
  10. Browsing a well known Flickr account these 2 variations caught my eye. I’m fairly sure I saw the EWS variant only once but I’ve never seen a coalfish that looked like that. Was it just a one off prototype? (I did try to add these images with a link to the original site but for reasons unknown I was unable to.)
  11. Washwood Heath? In the vicinity of the old Metro-Cammell works?
  12. Hi Jacob. Just a quick question about the low relief ‘Brush Traction’ building. Apologies if I missed a description but can I ask if it was scratch built or has it been constructed from proprietary kits? I’d like to construct something similar in the near future and any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards.
  13. After purchasing Volumes 1, 3, 4 & 5 of the Pullman Profile series I’ve run into the same situation as the previous posters. No matter how hard I’ve searched I just can’t find a copy of this book anywhere. Is there/was there any particular reason this book is so hard to obtain? What made this particular Volume so popular? If I understand correctly Noodle Books are part of the Crecy Publishing range? I wonder if it’s worth an enquiry to see if the title will be re-published? I know it’s a long shot but if anyone does have a new or near mint copy they’d like to sell then please contact me. Stay safe, kind regards.
  14. Hope this may be of some interest. In regards to Freightliner Heavy Haul in its early days of operations in the North East you can add Immingham (EWS), Kingmoor (DRS), Knottingley (EWS) and Neville Hill to the list. In Scotland depots visited for fuelling included Motherwell (EWS) and Craigentinny (GNER). I’m sure there were others but at present I can’t remember.
  15. These are looking very nice indeed. I’m so glad to have an order in place but now I wonder if I may be able to justify another pack? At this rate I’ll be posting pictures of my wallet going into ‘meltdown’….
  16. Just noticed this on the Rails of Sheffield site, a nice addition of (for me) a forgotten container livery variation. https://railsofsheffield.com/products/45113/accurascale-acc_rjb-oo-gauge-set-of-3-pfa-2-axle-container-flat-wagons-with-rjb-coal-containers-exclusive-
  17. That’s the way I’d read (rightly or wrongly) the linked article myself but whether or not it actually happens I suppose is another story.
  18. Hi Mike, have a look at this link and it’s comments. These should help to explain. https://flic.kr/p/2k8dxFG
  19. I'd just like to add my thanks to Fran and all of the Accurascale Rail Team for delivering an excellent model. I recently took delivery of a pack of the open steel wagons, which was my first Accurascale model. Just one tiny item dislodged from the bogies (load impactor?) which was an easy fix. I can safely say on the strength of this model it has convinced me to place an order for one of the forthcoming PFA Nuclear triple packs. Well done to all concerned.
  20. I notice that Rails are now advertising the DRS branded version as an Exclusive in a ‘Small Production Run’.
  21. And here's a link to a photo of one in service. https://rcts.zenfolio.com/rolling-stock/gwr/hD28C0C86#hd28c0c86
  22. I’ve got a question to the members that have received their new TPE 68s from Hattons if that’s ok? Was it just the DCC ‘ready’ models that have been delivered and posted or were the DCC ‘fitted’ delivered and posted too? I’ve one of the latter on pre-order but so far I’ve heard nothing from Hattons. I have emailed them to seek clarification but so far I have not had a reply.
  23. For anyone who follows the Railcolor site, in one of their latest updates there is an artist’s impression of the new locomotive for ROG. Apart from the fact it may well appear to have a EuroDual style cab is the livery it’s in...
