  2. Hi all, while passing in slow traffic Bescot yesterday noticed a livery on a 66 not seen before red, white and blue with large LTI on the body’s side, not seen before any ideas?
  3. A few docklands light rail units were sold to EVAG the tramway operation in Essen and slightly rebuilt.

I’m looking for another one now for a work colleague who doesn’t have internet will try Arcadia and Ian Allan
  5. Another train formation for the day is my DBAG BR155 and freight this particular loco by Tillig is devoid of any DBAG logos these have to sourced and I add them myself.
  6. Hi all, not been active much lately busy with work and family I’ve got a nice box of tilling flex track on the way so may start to lay some track in the coming weeks, however I’ve been taking some stock out the box and doing so measuring for average length of a set take this works out at 4ft 6” , one of my longest trains is my “Vindabona “ sounds like an establishment you might visit on a Friday night for a late night curry but it’s the title given to a train that ran between Vienna and Hamburg via Dresden and Prague Vindabona being a pre Roman name for Vienna and of would you believe Celtic origin! On my layout the train is represented with OBB stock by Tillig and Russian maker TT modelle hauled by a dual voltage Czech loco as pictured here by Kuehn.
  7. Such trains but as EMUs were built on these shells for Taiwan recently withdrawn from service.

  12. I did see your super video but also watched this too,,,colour variations
  13. Thanks I’ve seen a few MK2 airocons in a YouTube video with the DBSO some still in Intercity livery and some blue grey a varied rake
  14. Don’t know if this has been asked already as on the “mobile” site and difficult to search, but does anyone know if they will possible be doing scotrail to go with the DBSO I’ve seen several rakes on you tube with various MK2 including old TSO but prefer an air con set, somehow the Oxford Mk3 don’t appeal thanks
  15. Hi all I worked in Japan for a year a few years back and amazed how trains, model trains etc are part of everyday life, you won’t get kids throwing missiles at the driver there or graffiti on any rolling stock or infrastructure. Trains are introduced as a hobby at a very early age so when my little boy was born and now he’s nearly 3 I thought what a great idea to introduce model railways to him. The TOMY playrail system has been sold here but mostly on the Thomas theme where in japan if you can get it by KATO or TOMIX in N you can get it in plarail, it about 1/70 scale and runs on its own track, 3 way points , double slips, single and double tracks not just rolling stock, stations, coach wash, EMU depot, traction maintenance depot, amazing stuff, I buy most of eBay but there are some online retailers too, operated with mostly AA batteries and very competitive prices £15-£25 for a 3 car EMU the higher prices have authentic sound when moving! Wagons container and tank £4-£7 and track very cheap points £2-4 worth a look for your young ones! If anyone wants to see more photos of what we have please ask

Think that’s why “mail order” oh well even with a train ticket might have worked out cheaper!

    Missed the boat

Hi missed the boat through working away and looking for a OO 68 TPE non sound looked in vain on web no luck anyone help please? TPE have been testing them through my local station couple of times last week. thanks
  23. Kuehn are very reasonably priced as new , I’ve not seen many second hand models contikits has a little mostly old BTTB, some of the online retailers like Lippe and Elwira have the Aktionen department with odd bargains but with the new release products I find get them when released as sell out fast and then hard to obtain I’m still looking for some red halberstadt centre enterances with no luck, also this is an interesting site, thier coaches are reasonably priced. http://miniaturmodelle.net/
  24. Latest motive power to join the rosta , a nice Tillig DBAG BR114 to operate with a short 4 coach rake of red silver fishes ,,,,nice details on this reworked Trabbi, just need to replace the huge old BTTB style couplers, the layout will be DCC just a simple Roco MultiMaus , not sure as yet if this model has a DCC socket, my German is very limited and haven’t got all day to type into a translation tool, part of the problem for modelling TT is very few models come with any English information.
  25. I will monitor I won’t model as I’ve too much now I enjoy some of the quality YouTube videos I often watch, not sure but think the Pakistani and Bangladeshi trains are the same types, there are some intufreight stocks as well like the huge car carriers , personally I think if someone introduced a mass produced set of loco and 3 coaches wagons mid quality say 1980s Lima detail level you’d be onto a winner , I don’t know about manufacturing in India I have some nice quality model buses made in Bangladesh and I’ve seen some Indian “toy” trains. Going back to “other” markets like Russia I remember Lima had a large South African range but all has disappeared now think the last product was the CO-CO diesel buy they also made some of the GEC bo bo electric locos and a suburban EMU set ,
