  1. Question on this thread if I may, I’ve a Roco ET420 in S-Bahn orange and want to change the logos to DBAG is it a implement case of overlaying the original keks logo with the AG logo would there be any seepage through the transfer?
  2. TTDB

    Bemo models

Contikits have some nice second hand and some bargain bemo coaches for £15
  3. I’ve got a couple of the SBB Roco Goth car transport wagons and wanted to add some cars to them, I’ve not been modelling HO for a few years and had shock when an eBay search came up with an average price of £7-£12 however a deeper search found some AWM SEAT Toledos for £1.65 each so purchased a few and some other SEATs to add 16 to my two wagons, I don’t want to loosely place then on obviously so has anyone any recommendations? I have done some about 15 years ago by simply a blob of glue at the bottom of the tyre but they did keep coming off, I don’t know if flattening the bottom of the true a tad may help of a small plasticard square like you use on figures , any one experience please?
  4. I had to pay VAT and a £7 duty on my Liliputt HO 614 total with post was £190 I’m looking into getting the £7 duty back, everything else I have recently purchased has been below the £135 so no duty was paid but I’ve some NME wagons and with post are a tad over £138 so will see if this attracts attention
  5. I’m ok now thanks I’ve managed to source a rake of 3 in the red and white livery, this is the type I was looking for , later than the schliern type
  6. Im Going to base the layout in Passau border are of Germany so can run a mix of DB and OBB I’m looking to model 98-2010 before the low floor units were everywhere I do have a DB 182 and the Licht in Dunkel early Taurus
  7. Hi all, I’m having a dabble at some DB and OBB HO I’ve one single OBB domestic coach I’m not sure of the type but the series were used for the basis of the city shuttle sets, it’s in red and white however while looking to expand to a take of 4 I see that some are in red and white and some orange and cream, I have the red and white livery and managed to get a rake but just curious as to this livery, I’ve been to Austria a few times in the 90s and only saw them in orange and cream thanks
  8. I do miss the Continental Modeller Nuremberg edition as credit to them they covered a lot of the smaller suppliers ,
  9. A small 1/87 vehicle manufacturer VK modelle did propose the Hamburg S Bahn units the one that had the pantograph as as well as shoe (my knowledge is limited) they were in plastic and mass produced im not sure if it reached production as the company ceased the vehicle range.
  10. I’ve just had my first encounter,,,,I won a loco from Spain on eBay, the final remittance for a £85 loco was £132.00 after VAT had been applied but I’ve paid Spanish VAT as well , a personal account seller can’t deduct it, so I feel I’ve helped the Spanish economy as well as the UK, I wanted this loco so not complaining, I give myself an “allowance” on modelling each month and now if purchasing from Europe this has been reduced somewhat, items from Germany that cost a net £100 are going to cost about £150 landed If you have pay German vat then uk vat on top of the model and postage , you see the odd used bargain in Europe that won’t be a bargain any longer f
  11. I don’t know if this helps but a model was recently made for Brazilian model company http://premamodels.com.br/modelos.htm http://premamodels.com.br/fotos.htm
  12. Single items if you have the CAD done I’m guessing can be ineffective cost wise I need about 25 of those masts eventually and they will work out about £7 each but that’s what you would pay for a sommerfelt mast and these are bespoke exactly what I want, TOMIX in Japan make a small kit to make your own cross spans very cheap about £6 I’ve adapted my span and mast to interwork with these , I’ve not seen the prices of what UK outline is available. Many of the Japanese masts are suitable for the UK one being they use 1/150 and the loading gauge on the 3ft 6 network isn’t that larger than the UK just a few inches , they are available on eBay at greatly inflated prices.
  13. Yes it all adds up to what hopefully will be a good result and of course don’t forget the spec of the printer used they are like cars cheap as Dacia or a Bugatti and I think HEXA have a pretty good set up, not sure if he said the CAD took 3 hours but it’s very good down to bolts on the gantry, I know it’s an expensive outlay but not prints only, there isn’t a mast like this available even from the German makers, I need to span 6 tracks and 4 platforms this is located mid way , I also initially need 12 and a few more later to finish , this idea may be of interest to UK N modellers for cross spans or the new type of masts used on the Paddington to Bristol line,
  14. I’m not to sure yet not paid up. The CAD is £33ph and as he said he had a single span donor to work of it wouldn’t be that much wait in bated breath
  15. I’ve had a prototype printed by HEXA excellent service they also did my CAD too, this is the first print mast maybe the production will be in a more Matt finish but looks the part
  16. Hi can anyone pointe to someone who could print me some Japanese N scale masts 1/150 , I want a mast with a girder cross span both sides and these arnt available at all even though used on the network, I want to use one of the single sided mass produced ones by TOMIX as the base I have them with left and right cross spans but want both on a single mast, and the plate at the bottom both sides I’ve no idea how 3D design works so any help or a pointed direction could help thanks Pete
  17. For those who find facts interesting the 8XX series is based on Hitatchi A train platform and the nose design is clearly based on the JR Kyushu (An island of the coast of Japan in the south) class 885 “Sonic” there are very similar to UK loading gauge but obviously operate on 3ft 6 as does most of the former JR non Shinkansen network https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/885_series
  18. Fast forward to 9 minutes to view latest samples https://youtu.be/AuO7qllVCzY
  19. Yes although they do capture the general shape they are to I think about 1/80 they do also work on wooden brio track and you can get adapters from tomy to brio tracks
  20. Agree my 4 year old has a huge TOMY plarail system non Thomas he has about 18 E/DMU and 5 electric locos. A vast series from marshalling yards to a coach wash and cheap too 3 car set £23 accessories £4/20
  21. It’s also not worth the small purchases now as the fees the carriers charge for admin are truly extortion ok vat is vat and although this isn’t Europe it will be a taste of things to come, the government ban high interest pay day loans etc so how legal can this be in regard to fees against value of goods
  22. Hi all bit of an oddball as I model modern 1/80 Japanese here in West Yorkshire, I want my diesel railcars to have sound fitted , I have the files (there is a site in Japan that gives them you for free!) and I’ve been told they are for use in an ESU sound decoder, I’ve looked and there’s a plethora to choose from and speakers to and that’s all the information I have , I have the trains here and will willingly send to a retailer with the links to the files if they can help at all , last time i has DCC was a Lenz basic set 18 years ago and a lot has changed many thanks
