  1. Hi all, ok I took the plunge and did the experiment I signed up to an account with MyGermany it’s free, I purchased a model bus by a new manufacturer KSW a DB IVECO Crossway from the Weser Ems region, i added the address from my “MyGermany” account as my delivery address and had the model posted there , I then advised MyGermany that I had a shipment en route to my account there, I then a few days later had an email to say the model had arrived so I went and arranged my shipping to the UK on my account very simple, it’s perfect for any items under the threshold or you will end up paying the German Mwst then our wonderful VAT on arrival unless off course the item is such a bargain it doesn’t matter about paying double! I’ve added my address to my eBay account also so if I purchase on eBay.de the items will get posted there I highly recommend it,
  2. I don’t know if this is any interest to members here I have purchased some odd items of model railway locos mostly scaletrains, and mostly guitar pedals and parts. Using a U.S.-based shipping agent called shipito Basically they give you an address in one of the states in the USA you purchase items off any website using this address paying by PayPal is best as you add this address to your PayPal account your items then without question get sent to your US shipto address. Mine is located in Torrance California when you build up a considerable amount in your little cachet you combine shipping and choose a shipping method of your choice and have them sent to you here in the UK. You complete your own labels, even declaring your own customs, although I do not recommend any false documentation as if things go wrong in the post it can affect any claims you might want to make against loss. I have not used the US service for a while now but I do know it is a very keenly priced., but I noticed Recently on their webpage, they have a Austrian address also which may be of use of anybody wanting to purchase models from a shop that will not ship to the UK. You just get them shipped to your Austrian address, and do as you would if you were in the states until you’ve got a large consignment , then filling the documentation in including the customs and have them sent to your UK address, I might have a go at purchasing off ebay.de and send it to the Austrian shipito address i I am going to give it a go with something simple like a cheap wagon or coach,
  3. Yes, I think we will change to tracked 48 or 24, as of the item was delivered and signed for. He’s just adamant that he wasn’t even against his own signature. I’ve even said I will contact his local police but he still standing his ground. On the subject of parcel loss using normal services we posted, a locomotive to Chile £250 got as far as Santiago airport I didn’t go any further than that,, got total refund £72 £50 allowance for the £250 locomotive and £22 refund for the loss of postage
  4. hi, yes there is the evidence that it was delivered by GPS the exact address and the actual signature is totally readable that matches the buyers name on the address label
  5. I know some former N Wagen were sold to Albanian railways and various DMUs to Eastern Europe but yesterday I was watching some YouTube content on the railways of Africa mostly the former French colonies on the western side, I can’t remember off hand what country it was but I was shocked to see a rake of modus coaches in a new white and yellow livery,,,considering there are still N Wagen in service I was surprised too see that these had been sold or were the built specifically for the country concerned?
  6. Today, the saga continues. The buyer has had the courage to open up a not received dispute actually with eBay, we have found out this morning. On a quick call to Ebay they said not to worry about the situation , and on 24th they will step in to resolve the issue, on a quick look the ebay agent said that they can see the signature of the gentleman‘s concerned and that the locomotive was delivered and signed for just after 5 pm, the day prior to when he contacted me to say nothing had been received I don’t know why he’s wasting my time. I’ve told him no further communication let everything go through ebay or I will be reporting him to his local police for harassment , unreal for one single model, railway locomotive, as I mentioned earlier from his initial 4 messages prior to purchasing the loco, I suspected some mental instability.
  7. we only pack and label one item at a time firstly he said no parcel then this changed to I have a parcel with that tracking But it’s not the loco! It’s the only item he purchased and feedback from the other sales in this batch was all good, since I’ve mentioned the police it’s gone radio silent and he’s been blocked from further purchases, before he purchased after 5 questions I said to my better half as it’s her account I see a problem with this buyer, eBay are backing me 100% it’s even his signature legible on the post office website,, we always send the buyer a photo of the labelled box before being collected as we did this time

Railways and wouldn’t be able to answer some of the questions he was asking earlier in the posting we directed him to the accurascale website for all the technical information that he might want to read. it was one of the rarer ones the regional railways concrete, Bob mint n boxed he picked up a bargain at £140 mint and boxed.
  9. An interesting one today, after several years of not selling via the eBay platform I used my partners account to dispose of some recent OO scale high end products after two recent storms have caused some very expensive damage to the roof of our house. I always post items first class signed for which is the best way of any evidence of delivery. We posted several items this week to several purchasers all seem happy with the exception of one. He claimed the item was not delivered even though the post office website clearly shows his signature on the page and the time and location. The class 37 accurascale was delivered, but he says it’s not the loco in the box yet five minutes earlier, he was saying nothing have been delivered , I’ve spoken with great length with eBay on the phone this evening who tell me not to worry as the tracking and the signature is all that is required. We have been victims of this similar fraud in the past so we take photographs along the packing route down to the very last photograph of the parcel packed and labelled ready for collection by the post office It’s simply amazes me the nerve of some people to try and defraud when the factual evidence is there I am actually a local magistrate and know trade law pretty well, and I advised the purchaser of this from the beginning and that I will be speaking with his local police, I even asked him to enquire as with other members of the family to see they had taken the parcel. On several occasions in the past eBay have not been that supportive but to give them credit this time they have been a bang on and full credit to them .
  10. I had a Kühn BR110 and very competitive on price did they ever release the N wagen cab cars? ,
  11. I’m working away but will look when I get back unless Charlie can answer
  12. I remember early 80s BR introduced a pamphlet with day excursions from Birmingham at a fixed fare, trips were taken to Plymouth and Swansea I remember these at £5 return (child) and Milton Keynes for £2.50 return for a trip to Taylor McKenna this was always a bit of high speed running on the WCML with a 310/2 the unit bouncing about , looking at the rear cab watching the speedo, also a trip to Liverpool again on a unit , they didn’t interest me then and wished I’d paid more attention to them ,,,,
  13. Arrived in the post this morning from Charlie’s online shop very pleased and excellent price doing an online search and looking on Ebay you’d think they were a rare item and some on eBay are more than from realtrack itself,,,,,just want an accurascale 66 now
  14. A sound fitted 310 would be pretty good, remember the air compressor and brake valves were as loud as the motor
  15. You’ve got to love Royal Mail came home last night to a card that my parcel was in the empty green bin just been thrown in anyhow this is what’s come off my model ,it was packaged but can anyone help what is what please obviously some replacement horns needed but what is the other red part? My eyes are not the best undoubtedly due to a scared cornea so thanks in advance
  16. A bit late on the topic but I’m trying to build up a rake of 6/7 of these, as a previous posting states your ok if you want a BSO or FO but trying to jet intercity swallow TSO is like trying to find lord Lucan, does any one know if they are going to do a re run lf the TSO in swallow livery I’ve not seen any in the recent announcements? thanks TT
  17. Someone mentioned export,,,,,maybe Ireland or the mk2 fleet in New Zealand is now aged although heavily rebuilt over the years, personally I think Milford~Manchester is a good option with 67’s my better half has made several Journeys on the service from Manchester to Carmarthen very recently sometimes its a 150 sometimes on a pair of 153 These units cannot keep to the schedule Okay we have done well on refunds due to late running sometimes over an hour late and terminated at Crewe but the mark 5 and loco would be quite good also the passenger loadings are often standing only even when a unit 175
  18. Like many I’ve not read the multitude of pages prior but a 310/12 EMU set would be nice , plenty of liveries that are popular , blue blue grey regional NSE And others that could be done but possibly not popular enough for a large production run like WMPTE and Great Eastern,
  19. Have a look at truckmo in Germany lots of containers at reasonable prices
  20. Maybe it may be a good idea to compile a list of ships who do deduct their domestic VAt well as said my experience so far who do are http://modellbahnunion.com And Swiss HOm specialist https://modellexklusiv.de/ We are talking an average deduction of £30 analogue and up to £50 on DCC loco and of course you will only pay UK VAT on the net price , I did a very rough calculation, on a loco coating £300 net you would save nearly £70 loco net £300. post. £15 Fees. £8 total. £387.60 inxluding German Mwst tax loco. £357 poat. £15 fees. £8 total. £456 rhats some saving
  21. Thanks for that info I do normally use DHL and thought I’d give UPS a try asunder the threshold , if over threshold I will take your advice , I’ve no objection to paying my domestic VAT but when a vendors doesn’t deduct their own local tax can be expensive you looking £40 lwr £100 in tax with German and UK ?
  22. I ordered a set of PIKO S Bahn X wagen yesterday from ModelleBahn union at mid afternoon , the shop deducts the German Mwst (VAT) and the shipping with UPS was €18 this was my choice I could have paid €9 for standard but opted for express still not that bad at £15.50 you pay similar for express within the UK , however this must be at ICE speed as it’s being delivered to me in West Yorkshire lunchtime , fastest service Ive ever used , also with the German tax off it’s just under the VAT threshold , happy days , highly reconnect this shop.
  23. Hi all, just a question how compatible are bemo code 70 points and DCC operation, I know they were made by Shinohara and the older HO points are extremely difficult to adapt for DCC then they did introduce a DCC ready range , I’m not sure what catagory the bemo code 70 fits into ? Thanks
