  1. Geep7, I just spent an enjoyable couple of hours reading through your layout thread here. Looks like a lovely BR(SR) setup you have. I'm actually planning something similar, so it was a timely read too. I'll be following with interest the coming proceedings. Cheers, Will
  2. Thanks Brian. Some good information and tips there. I may have a go at two platform starters for a yet-to-be-announced project in the near future. Thanks again! Will
  3. Thanks for the info, lads. Some good ideas and food for thought.
  4. Single track line, but doubling well before arriving at the station, see point 2 below. Well, there are crossovers 'further up the line' I.e. in the fiddle yard, to allow running round the train and to allow 'wrong line' departure, but eventually the line singles. Yes, so, that's where the idea of a run round loop comes in. See above. Precisely. I have attached a larger sketch of the idea behind the part which I want to model. Thanks for the questions!
  5. So, I'm designing a small layout and am trying to place the signals. The era, if it helps, is between 1967 and 1972ish. Stock to be run is BR liveried two car EMU's, Class 73's and Class 33's, with a mix of super early BR blue and BR late green paint schemes. Diagrams below. Where should they go? I would assume that a starter for each platform line would be in order, as well as that the signals for coming into the station are beyond my scenic break. Thus, I only need to figure out where two, at most three, signal heads for departing trains need to be placed. Would anyone be pleased to assist me? Thanks in advance.
  6. Nice signal work, Brian. Question for you - how easy do the Train Tech signal kits go together for you? I'm looking at purchasing two for a project soon to be revealed, and I'm figuring out what to buy for colour light signals. Cheers, Will
  7. A question for anyone, but moreso for folks who are in North America: I am looking for a controller for my small OO Gauge layout similar to the pictures below. Are there any North American products of similar type that are available and reliable? Cheers and thanks in advance, Will
  8. Evening, Pete. Croydon North Street was one of my favourite layouts, despite being much later in time period than I normally model. I'm looking forward to seeing how this small O Gauge attempt progresses. Cheers, Will
  9. Also, our photographer caught a very nice lineside shot of 692 later on that week. Note: I'm looking for some Lanarkshire Models and Supplies buffer stops- since LMS doesn't ship to Canada anymore, I'm wondering if some has some they'd be willing to part with....
  10. Somehow a Southern Railway goods train made it across the northern approaches to London - probably on a diversion route. Also, a newly outshopped ex LSWR SR brake van was spotted on the tail of the train....
  11. Sorted. Moderator please delete when able. Thanks, Will
  12. Brilliant little layout! Anymore news on progress? Cheers, Will
  13. Looks terrific, Luke. May I ask where exactly you got the sign board, as I'd like to order one for my layout? Cheers, Will
  14. Luke, Just had a complete read through of both this thread and your distillery thread. Excellent work! I love the amount of atmosphere that you have in such a smallish area. I'm actually planning on starting a micro layout not dissimilar to your distillery one. Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Cheers, William
  15. Oooh, THE Deltic. Nice! And Happy New Year, too, Brian. Will
  16. Heigh-ho, Chris! Good to see you back, and what a grand job working for the railway. Looking forward to some more of your excellent modelling. Cheers, William
  17. Modern Era Pt.2 - still figuring out photo sizing..... And I managed to snag one of the last few Model Rail Sentinel locos - funny story: ran it in, then it stopped working, took it all apart, tested everything, no issues, put it back together- runs fine ever since. That's fun of modeling.....
  18. Brilliant work, Pete. I'm not on here as much as I would like, but always drop by to see what you've managed to do and it's quite stunning. I love the atmosphere. Cheers, William
  19. That last film is the bees knees, Brian. Everything looks nicely put together. The atmosphere is great too. William
  20. Happy Christmas, Brian, all the way from Canada.
