  1. Hardly anything to show? - I would beg to differ, Pete! It's looking good, and you seem to have solved a few problems too. Cheers, William
  2. Thanks Brian! Work has been quite busy the past few weeks, but I'm looking forward to doing some more work and operating this weekend. Oh yes, the fiddle yards are awesome. :-) William
  3. Just popped in for a look after being away a while: really terrific stuff, Brian. Love the pictures. :-)
  4. The first set of pictures with just the LED lights look terrific, Mike.
  5. Dem fine work again, Pete. I feel the need to build an MPD now........
  6. Wow! Nicely done - can't wait to see more photos. William
  7. Well, I managed some work on the layout Saturday - and ran a few passenger services as well. The Dalesmen were quite late getting to and from town for their weekend shopping, though. I finished up bedding in my dry stone walling above the tunnel too. Just needs another layer of thicker, deeper, more wild looking grass 'north' of the wall. Unfortunately the colours don't show very well in the pictures, but I have been able to mix lots of muted tones of grass to vary the landscape. My new ex-LMS 4F was run in over the course of today, and performs a treat. Here it is on my stopping passenger service: I also took Mike(of Dent Station)'s idea and made up a load for my Dapol Lomac - some pipes destined for the town's waterworks. Hope you like all the pics. I have something else in the works too, but can't say much yet - suffice it to say it involves photography and writing.... William
  8. Terrific work, Brian. Looks like business.
  9. The mock up of the embankment on the curve there looks interesting. :-P Good to see some more work from you!
  10. Nice! I had forgotten about this idea, but it certainly looks promising. :-)
  11. Pete, I always look forward to seeing any updates from Halifax Powell Street. Very nice WD too. Cheers, William
  12. Nice variety of loads, Mike. It gives me some ideas.......
  13. That's a dem fine bridge sir, I shall be following this layout with interest. Cheers, William
  14. Lovely little locos, Chris. Good to see them on your layout.
  15. Sorry for jumping in, but as regards the sag in Dapol couplings, I found it was fairly easy to unscrew them from the wagon body and then reinstall and glue them in place with no sag and then add the screw for added security. They won't wiggle from side to side, but there will be no sag. Just my tuppence.
  16. The 9F under the coal road bridge did it for me. Great pictures. William
  17. Well, I've been doing a fair amount of work on Bishopdale over the course of a few days off this weekend. I found a semi-permanent home for the layout, and set it up with its fiddle yards. I also got some Javis Scenics broken stone walls which I am bedding into the scenery above the tunnel. The nice high workbench which I am now using to support the layout. The two fiddle yards - one of which is a cassette style and the other uses a nice small Y point for maximum space. The dry stone walls roughly in place - some more work is needed. 44447 passes the BR signals and telegraphic crew's Land Rover. 1965 and one of the last few 4F's take the through goods from Skipton to Aysgarth. That's it for now folks.
  18. Busy building a brake van. One of my favourite kits has to build has been the Dapol (ex Airfix) brake van kit. It goes together really well, and the detail on it, while not quite as good as the offerings from Bachmann, is quite substantial. Also couldn't help but post a picture of my newly weathered Bachmann Jinty - is three of them too much?
  19. Well, the first of the final layers of grass have been laid and have dried. I also touched up various places where the ballast had fallen off when I laid the layout on its back to wire it. Update regarding the new fiddle yards coming soon....
  20. Really neat idea - and very well done. A few more pictures wouldn't go amiss, I imagine. Cheers, William
  21. Well, there's been a resurgence of work on Bishopdale. The penultimate layer of grass is being planted, ballasting is being touched up, and detailing worked on. I also placed an order for Hornby's lovely newer Fowler 4F as my older version is giving me trouble with the pickups.oh well, it gives me an excuse to have two now. (Hopefully the photo is attached, as I am posting from my phone...)
