  1. Was Michael Warner’s layout ever featured in these pages. From the look of the buildings you managed to salvage it would have been a fine layout. Stephen
  2. It may not be upside down but isn’t back to front now? Lovely photo nevertheless. Stephen
  3. A very attractive loco, along the lines of the GNR(I) V and VS. Stephen
  4. He is open to some persuasion but I think we’ve seen the end of his coaches. Stephen
  5. The Mortimore workshop continues to turn out quite remarkable cut and shut rebuilds. Stephen
  6. Very nice. It’s a shame Tom has all but stopped production. Stephen
  7. Thanks for that. If it’s anything like the two pieces in MRJ, then it’ll be a good read. Stephen
  8. So, what’s the name of Philip Harvey’s book about Amberdale? Stephen
  9. In your last post you mentioned a house move forcing closure of the South Waterford line but no timescale. Is this still happening, please? I’ve found your layout one of the most inspirational, not least because of its simplicity. Stephen
  10. You continue to amaze with your modelling of rolling stock. Stephen
  11. The Southern main line from Waterloo to the west country was one of the country‘s premier main lines until the boys at Paddington got hold of it. Say no more. Stephen
  12. Two other potential sources of Terriers, complete or in bits, were the Shropshire & Montgomeryshire and the Edge Hill Light railways. More likely bits than complete locos. Stephen
  13. You did actually miss two Terriers which could have survived, namely the ones on the WCPR that ended up owned by the GWR. Stephen
  14. What a delightful start to the story of the H&HRPS. I look forward to the rest of the story. Stephen
  15. I can see no reason why the magnesite wagons shouldn’t sell well. To date your marketing has been spot on. There are still many modern image wagons missing eg the two types of bagged cements to go with the bulk cements. Stephen
  16. Can we now hope to see a rake of dolomite hoppers to accompany the magnesite wagons? Stephen
  17. A recent conversion in my local book shop in Pershore indicated a lack of interest in railways. Cars, planes, boats but not railways. Stephen
  18. Have you spoken to Tony Wright of this parish yet? He has probably the best known railway shed at present and could, no doubt, offer guidance. Stephen
  19. Although the South Waterford Line is fictional, it is very much a could have been. The first proposals for a railway between Cork and Waterford envisaged a line through Youghal, Dungarvan and Tramore. Only the lines from Cork to Youghal and Waterford to Tramore were actually built, the through line being further north from Mallow to Fermoy, Lismore, Dungarvan and Waterford. The Act of Parliament to build the line from Waterford to Rosslare allowed for a short cut from Fermoy to Cork. If that had, instead, been from Dungarvan to Youghal, then you have the South Waterford Line. Stephen
  20. Do your plans include the various classes of GNRI and GNRB railcars, the AEC/BUT’s? Stephen
  21. Jonatham Do you have plans to renumber your 141’s? Stephen
