I am trying to identify the wording on the four workplates attached to the doors of the above loco to enhance a 7mm build . I can the identity wording as follows : First Line BRUSH Second Hawker Siddeley. Third Dont know. Fourth No711 1967 I attach the only photos I have found of the plates but still indistinct. The originals can be found either on Flicker or Facebook (Derby Works Open Day 1968. Any help greatly appreciated. Note : Heljan have fudged the issue on their 00 model as incorrect font and no third line .

Not sure whether this has been mentioned before. The Mens Room 1990s BBC drama starring Bill Nighy opening shots episode 2 showed shots of Halye station , Cornwall. Arriving to share a weekend away with his lover Harriet Walter at a friends cottage in Cornwall Funnily enough however Bill Nighy was supposedly arriving on a down train from London but when the train leaves he is on the up platform as that is a more photogenic shot with St Ives bay in the background. Nothing like poetic licence for a good shot . He looks very young.

The light makes it look a bit patchy but it isn't. I used a tin of matt Rail Blue precision paint purchased in the early 80s along with the rail yellow so had kept very well. In retrospect I think I would use a satin or gloss in future. However this loco is going to get an end of service look so no to bothered. Andrew

Having been nudged by Phil I really need to resurrect this build . I originally started this in 2008 how time flies . The original start can be found on page 8 of the archive under the Workbench forum. Updates as follows : Having obtained some parts from JLTRT last year current state of play : The indicator boxes are etches I had made and before any one asks these are the only ones and required a lot of fettling to get them to this stage as they originally came out to large . Hopefully I can push on and get it finished as 6354 as BFY. Regards Andrew

Hi Phil I have sent a PM re the head code boxes . I intend to model 6354 Blue , yellow ends as there are some good photos . Re the valances having read the article in Traction by Richard Dockerill (incidental 6343) I just couldn't shape and solder the brass panels that came with the kit so opted for evergreen strips paired down with a brass former. I have modelled some as slightly open but none missing . I had intend to buy a JLTRT class 22 but missed the boat . I will more than likely purchase the LLC one once funds are available. I do have a whitemetal and resin one by Mendip Models ? based on El Crappo kits that proved to much of a challenge and remains in the box . A bit crude now by todays standards but can be made into reasonable rep with some time and effort as demonstrated by Mr Daniels on his photo site . Cheers.

Hi Phil I attach some photos of my build which I really need to finish .I obtained some parts from JLTRT when they strted to produce their model .Notably new buffers ,fuel tank and bogie side frames and pipe work . In addition I had some new indicator panels etched which I had to do quite a bit of fettling as there was a mix up with the size . Regards Andrew

Hi Phil I'm no expert but looking at a picture of 6352 on the scrap line at Swindon page 93 of Looking back at Western Region Hydraulics which shows the other side would indicate that its a straight reverse of the other side . You always drop Steve Harrod a line I am sure he would be able to clarify . All the best Andrew

Gareth You may already have seen these if not may be of some benefit. For detail shots of the last remaining Class 15 try https://www.flickr.com/photos/brianews/albums/72157626897645349 or go on the Class 15 Preservation site and look through the work folio. Andrew

Just a correction I think you will find that the GP9 won the Diesel and Modern Comp on Saturday (reintroduced after a long break), and you will find a picture of the said model on page 51 of the November Gazette. .The display on Sunday was just that a display of Modern image stock as previously set out in the Gazette in the run upto the show.
