  1. Same thing with my 2 GWR coaches, charged for them and now going to be sat in my trunk until the LNWR and GNR coaches arrive (and maybe a few DCC decoders and a new controller), they look good either way.
  2. Will say at least with the price increase it’s not actually that bad, 10% increase for the unlit coaches and the unlit coaches about 11%, I know they’ve said preordered models won’t be changing which is advantageous if trying to encourage more orders and even if not it’s still not a bad hike with it being minimal and for a model that looks to be decent to say the least, it doesn’t seem too bad.
  3. Fingers crossed indeed, I’m hoping to have the Victory I’ve got on order running at the MRC open days next year as it’ll probably be quite interesting to have running, having had the layout open today it does seem that having a slightly larger industrial wouldn’t go amiss. As the Victory is about the size of a 57xx it just works in general for running a 4 or 5 coach train or a 6 wagon 21t mineral set. I wonder how easy it’ll be to DCC fit the Victory but I’m sure it won’t be too difficult to get body off etc.
  4. Now that would be nice; would be good with black and white lining similar to that used on the Hudswell Clarke now at Blaenavon, which also has red rods (can’t remember the exact term)
  5. Exciting stuff really. Might have to purchase another Victory from a future run at this rate! Wondering what the likelihood of ending up with a Blue Victory is, and how popular the whole generic livery thing is in general as it might be something for others to look at if it’s been a success? The liveries do look a tad better on the photos from this morning in that the colours don’t look as ‘in your face’ as the photos of the deco samples (scary to think those first pictures were just over a year ago). Will be good to potentially see an NCB liveried/lettered example maybe to go with the 2nd batch of the Genesis coaches being produced by Hattons maybe? Goes well with the theme that’s why I mention it.
  6. I’ve found I’ve been using these wagons a lot of the time just due to them looking good, had them out on the club layout quite a few times including for the open day we had a while back. I’m interested to see what the next run that’s been hinted at is like. Will have to get some to extend the set.
  7. With the first run of the Victory nearly here, will there be things like a weathering tutorial or example video that may be published on YouTube (similar to that done on the 21 ton wagons)? I will say it’s satisfying to watch the wheels and rods turn on the loco in the videos currently available.
  8. It’s certainly interesting this project, looks better than the class 24 on the grills and handrails at least. Should be good to see them properly announce some more liveries and maybe show some livery samples?
  9. Looking at the list of 37/4s I may have to purchase one at some point (depends if they’re in available anywhere of course or on Run 2 either way not fussed) as I may go about renaming and renumbering an example to 37429 as I like the idea of having an engine named after the Eisteddfod. I’m guessing it’s fairly simple to rename and renumber them.
  10. Might be a stupid question but, what sort of mineral train lengths would the 37s be hauling in South Wales?
  11. If I were to hazard a guess I’d say it would arrive between March and May next year. But I’m sure the team at Accurascale probably have a better idea.
  12. I hope that Accurascale announce some 37s of the centre head code box variety soon(ish). Neither manufacturer as of writing has announced models in BR Green of the centre head code box type. What will probably happen is I’ll renumber a WR 37 to D6916, as that’s preserved at the Pontypool and Blaenavon.
  13. I’m looking forward to running the Maroon one I’ve got on order, should look good with a couple of MK1s or some 21 ton minerals. Hopefully it’ll be a good fit on a “heritage” railway layout.
  14. Think they said there is provision for them in the 37 a few posts back.
  15. Would be good if 37 216 in its BR Green guise made it into the range at some point…. or any centre head code 37s for use with the MDO wagons.
  16. You know it’s comprehensive and good model when even the team behind it can’t remember if that’s it for the specs! It’ll be interesting to see what’s in run 2.
  17. It’ll be good to see them arrive that’s for certain. Can’t be far if invoices are going out now. Hopefully a newsletter isn’t too far away to give a full update.
  18. I ordered Cardiff Canton from HTG, seeing as it seems to be the only one that is a Welsh loco (or at least of the currently available ones), EP seemed good so looking forward to it. I had better extend the mineral set for it… Either way looks like it’ll be a cracking model.
  19. Does look like an interesting model, and if the market is big enough to sustain 2 competing products then go for it! Whilst some may argue that it’s probably better for manufacturers to only do models to a certain standard “unique” to them it sometimes helps to have a duplicate to allow the entirety of the market to be catered to. Though I wonder how this will affect the other Accurascale 37s yet to be announced, either way seems like a decent model even if it is a tad expensive.
  20. Bit confused here, the weight was 240 grams in the EP video and now it’s 280 grams in the newsletter? Not that it matters looks like a cracking model either way.
