Very impressive. Its hard to believe that is a 3d printed coach. Are you building a rake of network rail coaches?

Hi Tim it looks like you Nedd a 21 pin with a certain amount of functions.
Dave at Dean Park Station found that the following decoders worked.
Bachmann 36-557 decoder
Dapol imperium 8 function decoder
Dapol imperium mtc 6 function decoder.
Hope that helps.

The gaugemaster collection Dapol 59003 in 00 must be the exception then as its dcc sound/smoke fitted.

Good afternoon.
With the great news that the class 59 will soon be with us in August/september. Does anyone know from previous Dapol products what decoder they use in the dcc fitted models? I have a Hornby select at present and just want to make sure it's compatible as I've had issues in the past with other dcc fitted locos.
Any info would be appreciated

Just for info, a previous video on the new GC layout build shows that the Hornby Mag layouts are in fact in Mike Wild’s garage. So a stone building with concrete floor would definitely affect acoustics and sounds.
That is true topley Dale and the grand Central layout were in Mike's garage but this is no longer the case. Topley Dale has been dismantled and disposed of as they've been given a big space to work in now. All the new videos from Hornby magazine are with the grand Central layout at its new location until the new test layout is built.

So, ive been steadily building up a rake of these wagons and all has been great up until now with all wagons (14 so far) being complete and buckeyes working fine, right up until the last three (15,16 & 17th) that have arrived with me.
All three have broken handrails, all the broken rails were in the box and i can re glue them into place with out problem, so no big deal, just that deflated feeling you get when you see it damaged coming out the box!
I won't say where they came from as my gut instinct is that they have had a rough trip being shipped to me in the "cough DPD" delivery van.
However two of them are suffering from the open buckeye issue, in both cases the springs were in the box, now ive had a read on here about how to fix them and put them back together, im willing to have a go but im worried that if my attempts fail i could loose the springs.
My question is can you buy the Dapol buckeyes seperate to replace the whole thing? Are the buckeyes listed in the link above compatible with the Dapol ones and are Kadee buckeyes compatible with the Dapol buckeyes? Id like to get a float of spare buckeyes with having to replace the whole lot on the rake.
Before anyone says about returning them, i could, but due to work commitments that would be a bit of a ball ache, so id rather go down the fix it route.
Cheers.
West Hill wagon works also some magnetic couplings specially for these wagons.

I'm sure accurascale mentioned they were working on multiple units at one stage. Hoping for a 313 or 377. Especially now that older units are being phased out and 377s are everywhere down south.🤞

Hi Gary, this one was made out of spares - the only thing I had to buy was a loco body. It's mostly current tool Hornby, but the tender top was from a GBL Flying Scotsman, with wire handrails added. Since the new body I bought was valanced, I had to cut away the valances and scratchbuild the details underneath and the smokebox access hatches.
If you wanted to do it directly from a Hornby model though, something like 60029 which turns up on eBay fairly frequently would suit 🙂
No-one does the correct '9' in that Yellow, so ones I fitted are the closest I could get.
Cheers,
60800
Thanks for the info I'll keep a look out. 👍

A little bit left field due to a certain manufacturer having always had a monopoly on the class, but;
An A4 Pacific.
The Hornby model has plenty of accuracy and detail shortcomings, especially around the front end and specifically the cylinders.
Given that manufacturer's recent colossal price hikes and a number of variants that have not been done for at least a decade, I reckon Accurascale could be on to a winner. Imagine this for a first run;
Silver Link in *as built* condition with straight handrails, recessed front coupling and faired in tender
Silver Fox in single chimney, early crest BR green as per the Elizabethan
Mallard in British Railways Garter Blue as E22
Sir Nigel and Bittern in LNER Garter blue with no valances as running in the 1960's
4489 as Woodcock in photo grey / apple green
Union of South Africa in full coronation fitment
Kingfisher in final condition
All the above (and many more) have never been done by Hornby (and only two were done by Bachmann). Coronation livery has never been done properly. The modern fitments on the preserved locos and things like like the brake pipes running down the left hand running board and brake cylinders under the leading driver etc have never been done. The valve gear has never been done accurately and we've never had cylinders or bufferbeam streamlining that correctly cuts under (which I know is not achievable in RTR for valanced locos without having alternate bits to swap out).
It's an open goal for Accurascale if you ask me.
Cheers,
60800
Not to change the topic away from accurascale items but I've gotta say your A4 of sir nigel gresely Is amazing. Can I ask what the base model was?

Hi Darius great work on the 455 I've been debating getting one of these kits for a while now. What version of the kit did you get? Was it already built? The reason I ask is because I'd like to alter the cab ends to reflect how they were on the last day of service and I see you have the cab separated in one picture. Looking forward to see whete you go next with the model. 👍

Blink and you’d miss it…. But on the bottom shelf of Dapols display case, literally an inch off the floor… were Dapols 59’s…
i got down on my hands and knees for a look, I did ask, but was told they have no update.
Looks like two iterations of painted EP, the one from c3 years ago, and updated ones of the same.
ARC and NP look greatly improved on the bodyshells (which are the newer EP).
I was asking about a new run of 73s not knowing that they had announced a new run that day. But also asked about the 59 and was told that productions underway they are awaiting production samples atm. And hope for them to arrive in july.

MRA wagons
in Dapol
10 hours ago, newbryford said:The tipping gear has never been reliable and in most (all?) case now isolated,
Many of them are currently stored OOU.
There is one regular duty at the moment for a few sets, the almost 5 days per week 6C89 Mountsorrel-Carlisle VQ bulk ballast (made up of 4x sets) and return. From what I've seen, all of them are labelled "generator isolated" or similar, so unloaded by grab.
Part of the reason for the JNA Falcons and MXA Lobsters being "low and long" makes them easier to use on site with Road/Rail units whilst maximising weight capacity. The existing box bodies on MRAs are taller than JNA/MXA.
At least they're reusing perfectly good underframes with this project.
There are new IOA style higher/shorter boxes currently being delivered by Wascosa as part of this deal for bulk ballast use. The first ones are due in the UK imminently.
25 of the new wagons were spotted last week by trains_by_lorrydsbon on instagram. Tgry were seen in Woking going to eastleigh east yard. Thanks for the link on the info about the wagons I couldn't find anything about them.

Hi Gary,
We dont at the moment due to the pandemic etc it was a bit tricky but our in house testing shows they run very smoothly. We will organise something between now and arrival but of course you can always order with confidence beforehand and if not satisfied with performance return them as per your statutory rights.
HTH
Fran
No problem at all Fran. I've no doubt the wagons will be absolutely spot on and I'm lining up some 66s to be used for them when they arrive.

Hornby Magazine do have a video of the great electric train show for subscribers at the moment going through favourite parts of the show etc and that does have some footage of both the 92s and the tpe mkvs running. Im sure the video will be on YouTube soon. The 92s weren't running on Saturday whilst I was there as a coupling needed to be located for it. But Mike did show us the 92 in his hands and the detail is very impressive and from the video it seems to perform well with a rake of ipa car carriers. But having said that I've just found a video of the EWS 92 running by itself on a video by tbroyd at the 01:41 min mark and you can just hear the sound aswell.

Hi everyone,
Class 92 update is now here, with early bird price deadline, delivery date and lots more pics of the first decoration sample batch that have arrived for assessment.
Check it all out right here: https://accurascale.co.uk/blogs/news/class-92-update-first-batch-of-decorated-samples-arrive

They do look fantastic and will be well worth the wait. Out of curiosity is the 92 and the mk5 sleepers being produced at the same factory to ensure the colours match. Or is it quote a straightforward process to get diffetent factories to colour match with paint codes etc.

We’ve held back on announcing over £2m in new (unannounced) investment in the last year due to delays in the 55, 92 and mark 5. All three have delivery dates detailed in their most recent updates. Our Irish A class is almost here with the 55 almost complete assembly and much more working away behind the scenes in the mean time we’ve delivered HUOs in two scales, PCV cemflos, PTA and JSA and two runs of PFAs and KUA and PCA and accessories and shared decorated and EP samples of lots more besides. Our MDV , MDO and Coil A are on the boat and all that in the barely three years since we launched.
We are acutely aware locos are vital and have 6 D&E and 5 steam and several MU projects underway that we are striving to deliver to the absolute highest detail and fidelity at the most realistic price points possible.
We don’t believe in half measures or resting on laurels and can not wait until you all have swathes of accurascale running on your layouts.
Several MU projects. Praying one of them is a 377. Out of interest are any of these projects the results of the survey that was done a year or so ago? What was the final result of that survey?

Hi @gary_lner,
Many thanks.
Great point. We did discuss this with the factory but when we initially agreed on the production price it was for an entire production run based on one factory slot and the production lines are arranged for as such. If we split it into two the price would go up and we would have to pass that onto customers, and we're not keen to do that. It presents a bit of a catch 22 for us unfortunately.
Cheers!
Fran
Hi Fran that makes perfect sense. Spreading the cost over the whole mk5 range to give the price we have is great.
Looking forward to seeing the tpe mk5s in the coming weeks.

Hi guys a quick question about the 37/6 variant please. I was just watching the video of 37602 on Facebook and it looks and sounds amazing. Honestly makes me wish I'd ordered one from the start. My question is about the marker lights on the model. Should both sides have the marker lights illumated With the switchable day/night headlight depending on what u want? And if you just wanted marker lights for depot working? The reason I ask is in the video it looks like only one marker light is working. Was thinking it's just the angle of the video or that it's just a sample etc but just wanted to ask.
Any info would he great.
