No sorry I’ll just make them from brass.

righto thats fine with me, i'll probs 3d print some myself, since i'll need to design an adaptor of sorts if i plan to run APT-Qs using the MK4 DVT in place of the planned DAV4

The Hunt magnetic couplings arrived today so I put one on each end of a coach to see how close they couple.

They were a bit too short to pivot so I filed off a little of the bogie end ;)

pretty close but I reckon I can go even closer with a bar and pin.

will you be 3d printing yourself a coupling bar? because i'd totally buy one

Mines just died. (7 car)  Continues to derail, didn't make four circuits before the motor or chip seems to have gone pop.  Familiar smell coming from it.  Really not happy with it.  I think this one is going back

did it start smoking from the bogey by chance? Because my one did exactly that, i'll be posting the NDM back to Hornby for repairs tomorrow

Arguably closer to even the APT-Q with the NDM and DAV4 rolled into one as a class 91.

Using the 91 since my NDM is broken fresh from box, gotta send that back to Hornby for repairs, but my plan in the future is to motorize the second dummy NDM and mod the couplings to work with the new MK4 DVT Hornby are making

Mine arrived today! I think these are fair points. The couplings are really annoying. Can’t wait for the Hunt magnetic ones to arrive! But overall I’m very pleased. And especially pleased I got a extra powered MDM. Really needs it over 9 cars!

atleast you got to run yours, my one, brand new mind you, arrived today with a burned out motor already

No easier, these are flat from the pivot so don’t bend like those. All it takes is gently aligning the two

Note they are identical but one is upside down,

slide one over the other until they are interlocked like this.

Then grasp the bogies sideframes firmly and push together.

Do the same to pull apart.

i wonder how easy it would be to swap out the stock coupling with something like NEM? Asking as idea i had was running the APT as an APT-Q using the new tooled MK4 DVT

I think this was discussed when a set was running on Pete Waterman's layout - it's the interior colour IIRC

yes, that was me. basically, its because the first class coaches have blue seats, so its reflecting the light more

I can't find the TPE 802 on their website though.

Now I need to identify somebody with tier 1 status to get some Biomass wagons ordered!

I am also pleased they have done the 755, not in region but I might still get one as I think they are a cool looking unit.

hopefully, if the 755s sell well, we might get a 745 later on down the line
