  1. Excellent weathering and 'growth' on the roof!! Regards, Deano.
  2. Too right!! ....and I'm sure I won't! At £37.50 ea they are good value. Wheels ordered from Peartree at £8 for 2 axles, can't go wrong!! No connection with either, just a happy customer. Regards, Deano.
  3. Whorehouses, or warehouses??!! I'll get my coat!! Regards, Deano.
  4. 2 x 16T mineral wagon kits ordered friday!! (Upcoming house move may mean they sit on the shelf for a while though!) Regards, Deano. Apologies for the hijack!
  5. Looking good David, but I hope you're going to straighten that l/h handrail?! Regards, Deano.
  6. I have no idea either, but I'm pretty sure someone on here will answer?! Regards, Deano.
  7. I'm sure it will look fine Paul. Nice looking plates too! (The coach was 'semi-gloss' It could have done with a repaint!) Regards, Deano.
  8. Hi Paul/Larry Something like the plate in this picture? I hadn't noticed till you pointed it out Larry! Regards, Deano.
  9. Many thanks for the info Paul. It looks good. Regards, Deano.
  10. Hi Paul, slightly off topic, but about the turntable in post 111- is that a kit, and who's? Thanks. Regards, Deano.
  11. I like the round glass buildings with the red roofs in picture 2!! Jeeves, start the engine.......... Joking aside, that's a very impressive layout, Andy! Regards, Deano.
  12. I have a horrible feeling I may be ordering a pair of 16T mineral wagons from David when I get back to the UK!! Damn work always gets in the way of fun!! (David, is it possible they can be delivered within 10 days of ordering?!) Regards, Deano.
  13. WOW!!! That detail is outstanding!! I don't care whether it is visible or not but to produce a result like that must be so satisfying! Thanks for sharing that picture; one day I might just have a go at one?! Regards, Deano.
  14. Nice result with the Mink. I'll be interested to see the Fruit D build also, as I have both of these in my pile of kits!! (IIRC somebody else built a Fruit D not too long ago?) The 35T tank looks quite fiddly but an excellent build! I certainly can't see too much solder?! Regards, Deano.
  15. Paul, I have found that if you assemble the plunger and the wire on the bench, the hole in the frame is big enough to feed it all through and then solder the other end to your motor. Don't forget to thread on any spacer washers first!! Regards, Deano.
  16. Very useful info, John. I have a DA Castle to build, and was possibly next on the bench, but an upcoming house move and renovation will probably put things way behind again!! When I spoke to David last year, he said the Castle kit was to be re-vamped, with more options, etc. I would imagine he will address any errors raised by customers. I was also advised to fit the correct wheels (not by David), and have a redundant set of King drivers; good excuse to buy a king kit!! Your Castle is looking really good! Regards, Deano.
  17. Toasted breadcrumbs?? Hat, coat, scarf......... Regards, Deano.
  18. HAHA!! I've come across many security staff who I wish they would have 'tried' the Borax!! Regards, Deano.
  19. I might just try it with the next plastic wagon build. I have a few brass ones to build too, and with some thought I'm sure the same could be done?! Regards, Deano.
  20. I certainly wouldn't put it in checked in baggage!! As for carry-on, security varies so much all around the world, the Brits probably being the most pedantic! I do take tools (including scalpels and other sharp objects) but always well wrapped in checked in luggage. A few years ago, a complete DJH 4mm Class4 did draw some attention in my hand luggage though! (Must have something to do in the evenings stuck in a hotel!!) Regards, Deano.
  21. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, you produce this GUV! Outstanding workmanship! Regards, Deano.
  22. Interesting idea, George! Will you glue the 'bits' together when it's painted or rely on a snug fit? Regards, Deano.
  23. Some very interesting ideas on ballasting, chaps. Keep them coming. Ballasting can make all the difference to a layout. I'm in the process of buying a new (old) house that has a 24'x12' workshop that I've nabbed from the 'boss' as my new den, so hopefully will end up with a 7mm layout, therefore following with interest. Regards, Deano.
