  1. It's coming along really nicely, David. The coal hole doors look the part and although it's small detail it adds to the personal satisfaction! ...and the working reverser...!! Regards, Deano
  2. Excellent job with the pannier. Some of the photos are so life like!! I look forward to following the next awe inspiring build! Regards, Deano
  3. Thanks Peter, I'm 7mm also, so perfect for detail like yours. Keep up the good work! Regards, Deano
  4. Excellent, tidy work Peter!! Where do you get the chain from? Regards Deano
  5. Hi Grasshopper John, I will get round to starting a thread, so no you haven't missed it!! It's just taking so long with me being abroad so much with work and a training course that will go on for the next couple of months!! Seasons greetings! Also apologies David, for the digression. Regards, Deano
  6. Some fantastic work going on, David. The detail parts are so better than the 'bits' on the DJH Fairburn 2-6-4t that I am currently building! I am fully aware of all the errors in my kit (as highlighted by Dikitriki) but as one of my first 7mm locos it's going together fairly well straight from the box. Keep up the good work and seasons greetings!! Regards, Deano
  7. Grey and black. Quick service too!! (Not sure about over Xmas though?) Regards, Deano
  8. Hi Adrian, hmm it did take a while, but thoroughly enjoyable!! I always have a supply of stirrers, they come in handy for so much else!! Looking forward to further instalments. Regards, Deano
  9. I have just found this thread and have read from page 1 to date. Well worth the time it took! Truly outstanding work of art. Your pictures are so lifelike and oozing atmosphere!! I have recently moved on to 7mm and so far don't have a layout but I can see that many of the techniques and materials (coffee stirrers!) can be adapted. I shall be following the progress. Keep up the good work. Regards, Deano
  10. Fantastic work on an interesting prototype!! Well done! Regards, Deano
  11. Totally agree!! Also wish I had more time!! (Away with work 4 out of 6 weeks, and the 2 weeks I'm home I have to catch up with everything else!!) Reading threads like this whilst away is a huge inspiration though! Regards, Deano.
  12. You've certainly done it justice. Lovely looking locomotive!!
  13. It's still listed on titfields website at £13.95? (Usual disclaimer, just a satisfied customer!) Regards Deano
  14. Yes both methods work, surprisingly?! Brass, unlike steel, does not harden this way. The only way to harden brass is by 'working' it. Regards, Deano
