I look at this from a different angle, for me the use of 1:120 has always been about making a "railway within the landscape" rather than cramming a lot of track in, whilst keeping the stock and buildings "easily built". That's why N, for me, never worked, it's just too small, especially when you model narrow gauge where the stock is even smaller. 1:120 worked very well on the three layouts I built in TTe and "A Taste of Alber", probably my favourite, shows what can be done in 6x2... Or this (what you can see is only 8ft long!):

That looks like a throwback to petrol/diesel/LPG pumps where you an see how much fuel you've put in... Is there a need? I wouldn't have thought that anyone would be stood watching the electricity flow(!) but surely just a printout would suffice, if that?

Bit of a sneaky question, but as this thread is by people who like them, does anyone have an N gauge model of one and can tell me the bogie centres and bogie wheelbase please? I need a chassis with fairly long bogie centres for an H0e railcar and the 156/8 might be suitable!

Thanks Luke, I used Ballast Bond on the last layout and would agree with you, it is better than the standard PVA mix, better grip as well, will go back to it next time.

Does that fit between the rails? If so I assume you have to modify it for narrower gauges (i.e. 9mm)? What do you use to get the glue into the ballast? Thanks!

In mitigation I don't think the choice of prototype was the best for a new scale/gauge combo though. All the others chose more wisely!

And therein lies the problem, too many models competing with each other from the same company!

(Reply to Michael) I didn't say it was, it's still the same basics but the programme said that it was starting to adapt to a domestic human-made diet which is different to what they would get in the wild. It's the same principle as domestic cats adapting their behaviour to get the best out of their interactions with humans. Evolution!

Didn't seem to harm them either, our's lived to 17 on such a diet! Snowy licks plates clean if given the chance so has milk and cream from time to time. I'm sure i read somewhere that one difference between a domestic cat and wild one is that a domestic cat's digestive system has adapted to suit the diet it gets, i.e. fewer, if any, fresh raw meet with bones in it!

Not all, the narrow gauge Zillertalbahn in Austria are converting to hydrogen after ruling out electric for several reasons. Re the above I assume they'll be using hydro electric power to make it?

Perhaps, I'd put their bottled stuff on a par with any of the ones you mentioned, and better than many as they are bottle conditioned! Mind you I have some dire Saltaire beers in pubs before now.

Perhaps you need to tell Bertie! ;) I don't get this, surely the owners of the charging point could put a limit on the time and if the car owner does that charge them a fortune for doing it. It's just the same as overstaying in a car park, you get penalised for doing so. Or is that beyond their capabilities?

That sort of comment, as I've said before, completely puts me off an EV, there is no way, in this heat, that I'd consider doing that, Climate Control is on and running and doesn't go off until I leave the car. I'm with you on the increased range but 400 would do me if it was realistic and not the manufacturers/Gov test figures.

Ours has always liked the cheapest Sainsburys brand, sachets with jelly, not gravy! When I am cooking meat, doesn't matter which, I leave some raw meat with the juices in the plastic container and she spends the next ten minutes pushing it round the kitchen to make sure she's had every drop!
