  1. Which with the current mileage range of an affordable EV it isn't a pleasure. Its been interesting reading BRtraction's experiences and whilst I applaud his tenacity I don't feel that his experiences of his EV make me want to get one. To me I just want to jump into the car and get from a to b with the least amount of hassle possible. There's enough agro on the roads anyway without having to worry about range. I can live with a PHEV uf they were affordable but EVs have some way to go before they can become an ic substitute so I'm with admiles on this.
  2. Didn't most of the UK sold ones end up being sold back to Russia after we'd used them or is that an urban myth?

Wellington pub, Birmingham, the cats are Malt and Hops!
  4. If you look at the comments on that link there's plenty of silly (sarcastic?) suggestions, the one I liked most was for a destruction derby, but that would favour Max...
  5. Oh dear... Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse...

Just a lot of white space... But no cats! ;)
  8. No just a suggestion after the recent fiascos!
  9. Thought that's when it started to go downhill?
  10. If the safety car is still out with three laps to go then that's how it ends.
  11. He didn't say he disliked F1, just that he doesn't like the way it's heading under the current owners and I'm sure many of us share that sentiment. Interestingly he says that he records the races, that's not the action of someone who dislikes a sport, for instance I doubt you record football matches to watch later, Balgrayhill?
  12. "Bearman attempted a pass for the lead on lap 16 but Maloney defended, with Bearman being forced to take the shortcut through the chicane and stay behind. Shortly after, a Safety Car was called after Kush Maini and Brad Benavides crashed out of the second Lesmo, both cars ending up on the grass and in the wall on the inside. There was a red flag called with five laps to go, in order to clear Maini and Benavides’ cars. During the red flag, Martins was issued a five-second time penalty for four track limits violations, putting his championship seemingly under threat for the final four laps. However, shortly afterwards, the race director announced that the race would not be resumed. Confusion reigned in the pit lane as neither Martins, his team or the other drivers were aware how the championship would be decided. Eventually, Johnny Edgar and William Alatalo also received five-second time penalties for track limit violations. Alatalo had been initially promoted to third by Martins’ penalty, his own penalty subsequently putting Jak Crawford on the podium and Martins back to fourth. Maloney won the race, Bearman second, Crawford third and Martins fourth. Consequently, Martins takes the title with a lead of five points over Maloney, seven from Bearman." From: https://www.racefans.net/2022/09/11/martins-controversially-crowned-f3-champion-under-red-flag-as-maloney-wins-final-race/ At least the final result was right...
  13. May see if I can find some secondhand H0e or TT then! ;)
  14. Sorry, Andy, no. We're over in Germany later in the month but not around Detmold. While we are there I may see if I can find a model shop and ask about it. I assume we should get the models VAT free and have to declare them at our customs on return, but perhaps someone will know the procedure and advise me?
  15. I've used MBL many times, they are very good. There's also ebay, though you may have to ask the seller if they'll sell to the UK, many will. I've sold a lot of Zueke H0m stuff recently to German buyers using ebay and its worked well. It's not as difficult as you think!
  16. I doubt 12 or 18 months will matter, once they start to appear it'll gather it's own momentum at that time. We had to wait ages from announcement to launch of RTR 009 and it has taken off. Patience.
  17. I think we'll know more in 12/18 months time. I'm in no rush so quite happy to wait patiently. In the meantime if anyone is desperate to try TT there's plenty of Continental models.
  18. Not to mention The Professionals which started out with BL stuff and then went Ford...
  19. Maybe, maybe not, but it would still have been good publicity... The British manufacturers were always poor during the 60s and 70s, missing several good opportunities... Ford on the other hand...
  20. They wanted an E Type but Jaguar wouldn't supply one for filming!
  21. https://formula1news.co.uk/christian-horner-set-for-the-sack-as-porsche-deal-stalls/ Next job as C4 pundit? :)
  22. Corrected it for you! ;)
  23. Thanks, several people I know have the Suzuki Swace and say they get similar mpg.
  24. Sorry, Andrue, I've probably missed it, but what Corolla model is it?
  25. Thanks Ron, I got the impression from some posts that people had them attached to the mains at every opportunity! Nice to know that you don't have to. That way of doing it seems very logical but not the way many people do it who always seem to want full (or 80%!) charge all the time.
