  1. Ordered the sound ones via Ian Allen in Birmingham near a year ago (use gaugemaster wholesaler) ... hopefully won't be too long until they turn up as look very impressive ... if of course from the sounds of it they do actually turn up!
  2. Whilst disappointing news it's not a surprise at the moment with the currency markets the way they are but on the upside on hold is better than cancelled outright. I wish both parties all the best and hope that one day this project sees the release it deserves as no doubt will be a fantastic model.
  3. In short pretty interesting modern image selection at prices that look very reasonable given the current econonic climate . . . HOWEVER . . . £319.99 for what at first glance appears to be 1 powered and 1 unpowered GWR HST power cars is really concerning and for that sort of price I'd hope for some Mk3s came with it (Not really any detail on the specific page to indicate if this or isn't the case).
  4. For those wanting some justification for a small rake of the Greenergy tanks saw go past earlier today (Not my video I will add) but was 6E35 Cardiff Docks to Port Clarence working on a Saturday which in itself is unusual ...
  5. For those wanting some justification for a small rake of the Greenergy tanks saw this earlier today (Not my video I will add) but was 6E35 Cardiff Docks to Port Clarence working on a Saturday which in itself is unusual ...
  6. Looks like 6E33 Cardiff Docks Greenergy Gb to Long Marston (Somewhere in the Long Marston area?) last Friday.
  7. 40145 in large logo / as preserved livery would be interesting . . . And fits in with the East Lancs Railway theme . . . (And Bachmann have already got the Etched nameplates too).
  8. I cancelled my pre-order for this to - looks really nice and would suit the HST that's due shortly (And the NRM one now!) but at near £190 even discounted it was simply too much for the contents. At £150 ish discounted I'd have said it was reasonable for today's prices and kept my order or even if this was done as a train set to appeal to the younger generation too but in its own right it is just too expensive for what it is. Likewise the lack of any extra coaches to go with the pack was a huge downside ...
  9. Fantastic announcement - Whilst expensive for what is a special commission with no motor though when compared to say the mk1 Pullmans at near £70 each per coach this looks remarkably good value. Nevertheless ordered 2 already and will save for a few of the others end of the year ... and some more 33's / 73's ...
  10. From Dapols own Blog / Forum: https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/forum/main-forum/class-68/project-managers-blog-af/362-oo-class-68-opening-post
  11. Details are now on the collectors club website for those either a) wanting to know or b) to avoid and await the magazine in the post ...
  12. I suggest a visit to Ian Allen in Birmingham very competitive price if anyone still wants one. Picked up mine last week from them - fabulous service as always too along with it. Not connected just a very happy customer of theirs!
  13. I've ordered the 2 London Midland 321 and the Saltire 320 already but the issue I have is that whilst there are others I would like I simply can't justify the large outlay (50% deposit) on pre-ordering a product that may or may not get done at this moment in time - Granted this would be refunded in any instance of the product not going ahead but it does to a certain degree make me not to want to speculatively order more at this moment in time. However perhaps if orders for said items were 'close' to reaching the point they would go ahead I would reconsider this of course (Even without the early bird offer).
  14. From latest locomotion newsletter: "Watch your inbox on Monday 30th May for a special announcement! What can it be? A steamie or a diesel? We might surprise you all and make a shed!" Red herring or a subtle hint?
  15. Any information on how much the factory fitted sound versions of these will be in OO and when they will be available? Not seen a lot regarding pricing / availability on these.
  16. Number 804 (With the first of the 4 additional trailer cars I ordered) has touched down in Birmingham yesterday afternoon - Looks absolutely stunning and can't wait to get it running! Just want to say many thanks to both Locomotion and Rapido for this stunning model and all the hard work that's gone into developing it and getting all the orders sent out the last few weeks. Now time to get the manual out . . .
  17. Quick question regarding the 'other options' - If I wanted to go for say a Strathclyde class 320 would there just be a single unit number if it went ahead or if there is sufficient interest that multiple unit numbers would be considered?
  18. All 6 of mine have the locked / unlocked the wrong way round on one end of the wagon upon checking my own photos as well. One end locked the other end unlocked ... Oh dear ...
  19. All 6 I ordered (1 of each) arrived from Hattons this afternoon all looking very nice! (I preordered 09/02/16 if it helps others).
  20. If Dapol decide to do the buffet cars (Or use existing tooling that has a few errors but allows for a otherwise prototypical formation) I'd have one of each set but otherwise at the moment if a full set is not likely to happen then meh ...
  21. But at the price of joining the club and buying the loco still makes this on a par with the retailers discounted price of circa £120 for a standard release plus you get the other benefits of the club membership as well which is not that bad end of the day.
  22. I note from the Dapol stand at the Diesel and Electric show over the weekend that the accompanying description for the engineering prototype said "2 power cars, 8 saloons and 2 buffet cars to form a collectors set" ... Only spotted it when going through my photos so clearly wasn't that observant on the day.
  23. First thoughts are these are very welcome and looking from the pics rather impressive detail wise ... BUT ... at £83 per wagon they seem just a tad bit expensive even looking at 2 of each would still come to an eye watering £326 for a small rake of 4. Though my local shop has the Bachmann Polybulks for sale at £59.99 each so what is otherwise £24 extra for what will no doubt be a one off doesn't sound all that bad. Maybe some time with the bank manager to justify a rather small order of these is required ...
  24. Just want to say big thank you for this thread - Without it I wouldn't have known about such an issue and having just got the 5 I had out to check them over (they have been stored for several years at home and even still only been out of the box a handful of times) that it appears 2 have met the same cracking fate (Weathered BR Blue and BR Green variants). In my case the BR Green one is more cracked than the weathered Blue which admittedly is a call crack in the corner but still.
