Nah!
Never surprised that someone has to directed through the forest to see the log pile.
Never surprised at adults with poor verbal reasoning skills who scream like a kid.
I simply stated restricting (for whatever reason) sales hinders a product's success, compared with unrestricted sales.
Want to refute that?

I believe that the EMGS Constitution and/or legal status doesn't allow them to sell to non members. So there is little point in debating it further at this time.
Edited to add that the EMGS Trade Officer has officially clarified that above!
Thanks for your reply. For other people's sake I hope it's more legal status, than constitution.

If you're not a member there is a multitude of methods that have been suggested up thread into how you will be able to obtain this track once it is available.
If you are a member and don't like the way things are being done, you could always lobby support and then get yourself along to the December AGM and make your suggestions known. Then get your proposals added to the agenda with a view to taking a vote and having your proposals adopted/accepted.
First though, I'd do a google for "Charities Commission" and/or "Companies Limited by Guarantee with Charitable Status". You will find multiple reasons why items commissioned to be sold by the society can only be sold to members. Then have a read through the EMGS Memorandum and Articles of Association where you will probably find more reasons why the society is limited to selling to members only.
Can't be bothered with that? Thought so.
One criticism often aimed at Societies and Community Groups (I'm talking in general here and not just Model Railway Clubs/Societies) is that of the Committees sitting on society(members) money. In this instance it looks as though the committee of the EMGS has take the bull by the horns, made an executive decision to invest members monies in developing, commissioning and having manufactured, something that EMGS members can really benefit from. I for one, hopes their venture pays off.
So rather than moan and complain that the ready to plonk EM track/turnouts will only be available to EMGS members, join the bl**dy society and take advantage of the benefits.
P
Edited for crap spelling.
Where did I moan/complain? Nowhere? "Thought so"
As has been explained, due to the way the EMGS is set up we are only allowed to sell to members/day members and this won't be changing.
Thank you for your reply. Good to see some people don't whinge.

I am after the body from Bachmann 31-658DS "Pectinidae". I would be interested in complete loco if the sound has been removed.
-
As I said, very welcome and to be applauded as its a big step forward, but its not a range !! Lets hope they sell well and not only will the society recoup their outlay but are able to expand the range of what's available
Which is exactly why you don't restrict selling to members only

Hi All,
Thought I would share an image from my layout showing the Peco Bullhead points now that I have finished ballasting.
Still have to add a bit more detail & may also complete a tade more weathering to the track work to tone it down.
Hope you enjoy.
Did you use Peco bullhead for the straight sections too?
-
So Peco can give EM track realistic default sleeper colour, but not OO........ smart.
-
Great photo! Immediately I see the the chairs are prominent (something I previously used to distinguish between O and OO track).
-
Apologies if I have missed these throughout the thread, but does anybody have any photos of the bullhead points ballasted etc?
-
Anyone have any of these? Please private message me.
-
Neither of my two did.
Which model numbers are your two?
-
I am after FTG Models Railfreight SPA wagons (see photos below), both Cardiff Rod Mill and plain. Please message if you have.
-
So now instead of one page for all OO Branchline wagons, showing availability/release dates/era, I now have to click through 16 sub-pages and the previous information doesn't exist at all?
Genius

Anyone got the plastic packaging insert for a Bachmann MFA wagon and to a lesser extent, a wagon box?
-
Is it fair to say there is a fault with the model then, rather than a dodgy courier?
-
After Bachmann Charrington TTA wagons, particularly the black ones.
-
I am after Oo gauge Dapol Telescopic Hood Ferry Wagons "VTG" Grey (photo below).
-
How common were these VTG Telescopic Ferrywagons during the late 80s/early 90s? I struggle to find any pics on Flickr. Were they pulled by Metals sector locos during the sectorisation period, like OCAs, SPAs, BAAs, BDAs etc were?
-
Anyone know if there's plans in the pipeline for a Class 60 in Railfreight metals sector livery? A lot of the other liveries have been done.
-
Hi, I am after multiple unused Bachmann Class 37 and 47s in Petroleum sector livery. Also after Hornby Class 60 in Petroleum sector if anyone has any.
-
Have Peco announced what are the next releases in this series?
-
Anyone got any FTG Models Railfreight SPA Wagons? Both Cardiff Rod Mill and the plain railfreight versions?
-
Anyone got any Bachmann 38-056 (not 38-056A) OCA railfreight wagons?
-
Could anyone with Bachmann Railfreight BAA steel carrier wagons (see below) to sell please contact me. Thanks,
Eurostar Class 373 model from 1990s
in Hornby

Years ago (probably 1995/96) I bought the Hornby Eurostar 4 unit pack (engine + dummy + 2 carriages and track). I think this was R1071? May be 1-3 years later I purchased a 2-carriage expansion pack (may be R4013C?). However, the carriages in the expansion pack were significantly taller than the original 4 unit pack and it looked silly. I am sure the real Eurostar 373 doesn't have such a height difference between carriages? I sold all of it a few years later.
I see they released a newer 4 unit pack and a 6 unit pack, along with first class carriage pack since I sold all my stuff.
Which item had the incorrect height/is there a product to avoid purchasing?
Do the more recent models (class 373, not 374) have a newer mould, or it's the same level of detail?
