  1. Look on my thread......I'm sure you'll find something there For some reason my... My/our scratching building thread does not appear. It's about 13 pages away, as I haven't updated it for a while. It's a shame a lot of the pictures are missing. I kept them all here and not backed up anywhere else.
  2. I've got my eye on this book. Is this the one you mean? Cheers Scott
  3. I model Eastern region around the time of transition. I've made myself rakes of great Eastern, Thompson and Gresley coaches and I was looking to make some mki stock.
  4. How about the books by Hugh Longworth?
  5. I wonder if anyone can help. I'm after oo/4mm scale drawings of BR MkI and Mkii coaches. I have Nick Camplings drawings of the LNER and constituence and Historic carriage drawings by David Jenkiison. Or are BR coaches based on any of the designs in these books? Thanks in advance Scott

  7. Could you show us a step by step? Thanks Scott
  8. Bogies are coming along. The top edge is looking good. Have done a little bit of detailing to the exle boxes. Contemplating how to tackle the underside details, will post some more pictures soon. I'm thinking of skipping the rivet detail on the bogies.....
  9. Hi Tom Thanks for asking. Basically..... 1. once the bearings are pushed through the holes a quick clean up to take any nipples left by the machining process 2. I then secure with super glue, I cut small rectangular pieces the dimension of the axle box and glue again with super glue 3. Once all that is dry, fill in around the bearing with some squadron green filler. 4. Square off any excess filler, then add some basic details (I'll be posting some more pictures soon of my bogies) Any Q's, don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully this will inspire you to make some of your own stock. Post pictures on here or start your own thread.
  10. Hi everyone Can I pick you brains..... What EMU's ran on the Liverpool St to Norwich line from the 60's to the 80's. And the Southminster line during the same time period? Or could you recommend a book of 2 for me to get. Possibly one with 4mm drawings. Thanks Scott
  11. Axle boxes filled. Just got to wait until they are all dry before I can continue
  12. Even more done tonight, quite literally 'on a roll'. The bogies are coming along quite nicely. Started work on the axle box details, done in my usual way. The coaches now have sole bars and headstocks. Any Q's or ideas from my fellow scratch builders are always welcome.
  13. The next bits are done. I've fitted one set of wheels, no wobble and free running. Next will be adding the axle boxes, a layer over the frame sides to hide the joints on the end and give a bit of relief around the axle boxes. Then to add a lip over the the top edge. The gaps in the bogie frames were used to reinforce the bogie sides and help keep the square. Any Q's don't hesitate to ask Cheers Scott
  14. A bit more of the bogies have been done. Before these are assembled, the pinpoint bearing cups will be glued in.
  15. Well... There's the other 11. Soon have some Thompson bogies cheers scott
  16. It's been a while since I last posted. Still a bit miffed that loads of my pictures have been lost...... Anyhow, been busy with a rake of 1st/3rd, full 3rd and 4 x 3rd and guard Thompson suburban coaches. All out of 0.75mm plasticard and built in my usual way. any questions, don't hesitate to ask. cheers scott
  17. Thanks for the breaker advice. Rigged it up to one of my Duettes 16v ac outputs tonight, seems to work a treat. The white connectors turned out to be the 16v ac controller inputs. The black connectors were the dc rail outputs Cheers guys for all your comments
  18. Er....don't think so. My Duette is a good controller, despite its age. Not going DCC any time soon.
  19. Thanks guys, on closer inspection it does say to use with another kit.
  20. Hi guys Been to the Epping and Ongar railway today, the class 31 & 37 were busy, which was nice to see..... Anyhoo, they are raising money to repair the class 45 there and on the stall they had the ratio Pratt truss gantry. Opened the box to find the instructions and two sprues, as per photo attached. Are there parts missing? Or do you use the signal arms and brackets from other kits? Thanks Scott
  21. So is there a possibility that I could power it up from an output of my duet? If so, what are the inputs and what are the outputs? Cheers
  22. Hiya chaps, Got one of these..... However, which is the 240v input and which is the output? Also are they any good? Cheers in advance Scott
  23. But until I finish these 20t'ers the 13's will be on hold. Have added the outside brakes on all 5 wagons and just starting to add the spring details Thanks for looking TTFN
  24. Yeah found those, the diagrams are fairly basic so I've made a preliminary drawing as below. Was hoping if anyone could point me in the direction of a book like Peter Tatlow's with drawings of a similar detail So hopefully I'll be able to make a couple off wagons like these. cheers
