  1. Hi everyone, I am thinking of doing a repaint of the old FCC class 319s and wondered if anyone would have a good paint match for the blues as shown in the pic below. I assume the dark blue would be Phoenix First group blue (??) but any ideas for the light blue? Ideally humbrol or Phoenix. Thanks.
  2. That's amazing. I love the dirt on the windscreen showing the outline of the reach of the windscreen wiper. I have never weathered a loco before but would love to have a go. Would you mind explaining how you did it and what products used?
  3. Perfect. Thankyou. Just out of interest, is that on DC or DCC? I assume the interior lights work on both?
  4. Thanks for your replies but yes this is what I am worried about. I love the look of the interior and cab lighting but wonder if it will work correctly if it is missing a centre car.
  5. Is it possible to run the class 450 as a three car? Considering getting one but I only have a small layout.
  6. Why have the MK3's RRP gone up to £34.99 along with almost all other Hornby rolling stock?
  7. My standard class TSO (R4781A) is also moulded in red plastic. Also anyone know why are there no reviews of the HST or mk3s in the latest editions of the well known model railway mags?
  8. Noticed a few shops don't seem to have received stock of the MK3 TF (R4815). My local model shop certainly hasn't and only a couple of retailers seem to have stock from what I could find. Could there have been fewer of them made? P.s. Hornby have some powers car packs up for sale on its website. Returns maybe?
  9. Does anyone know if there is a way to prop open the driver doors on the powers cars as I feel like it is a missed opportunity? Hornby sprung the doors so they can open but immediately spring shut. I think it would be cool if they could be open say when waiting at a station platform or TMD and make it look like there is a driver changeover or something.
  10. The MK3 coaches seem to have arrived in some model railway shops now. A number are showing them as in stock online.
  11. Great news! Any idea how long before they make it to the shops?
  12. Kernow model centre has listed on their website that the HST pack is due to arrive this Friday, 15th September: http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/56170/R3510-Hornby-GWR-HST-125-Train-Pack---Limited-Edition
  13. Nice to see a post privatisation layout don the front page of BRM. Doesn't happen often.
  14. I too am thinking of getting the 150/1 for £99. Is this the lowest price a brand new class 150 is likely to be as thinking of doing a respray?
  15. What a shame. Until yesterday it said: expected September 2017.
  16. What are the other two modern liveries you like? Can we be certain that that livery is the one they will use? I have to add to the comments that it is truly awful.
  17. Hi Why has the Brm back issue digital sale ended early? Quite disappointed as I still wanted to buy some more.
  18. Just noticed the power cars on Hornby's website now say expected: September 2017. Could we really have the power cars next month? Excited. :-)
  19. That looks absolutely stunning. I have never even seen a 450 in real let alone travelled on one but just looking at those pics makes me very tempted by the model. Well done Bachmann!
  20. Anybody received theirs yet?
  21. When is this offer on until as I want to buy a fair few but can't afford them all at once?
  22. Anyone read the review in this weeks Model Rail mag yet. Apparently some subscribers have already received their's. What's the verdict?
  23. No I don't expect it to be taken as fact. That is why I said 'in my opinion'. What is the point of a forum if opinions are forbidden? With regards to the desiro, I assumed it was just a respray as that is what other posters have stated. I probably know less than most but given your informative statement about as much r&d being required on the desiro as on the 158 then in my opinion (apparently not allowed), I find it astonishing that a model announced two years later arrives significantly earlier.
  24. Assuming this is true (given the poster I completely believe it is) then in my opinion this is a damning indictment of the proficiency of Bachmann as a manufacturer.
