  1. Made some changes to this model, I have also amended the cab interior to be closer to the original. I am deciding whether to add cab doors, 1000 had them so i suspect 1001 also did, though I do quite like being able to see more inside the cab, being a detail junky :) Also im guessing the floor would have been timber? Thanks to everyone who has kindly feedback and commented especially Nick Holliday for his excellent and eye and knowledge. I haven't got this bang on Nick, but thanks to you it is a lot lot closer :) And you where right about that Cab window on further studying :) Cheers Rob
  2. Cheers Andy some good suggestions, I intend to fix a few issues next week. Nick Holliday kindly sent me a lot of info, some issues that I need to fix like the double whistle there was only one, the shape of the front splasher is not quite right, it is more curved, there are some extra details on top of the tank missing, and I will thin down those boiler bands. There is also an extra band between the boiler and the smoke box collar that needs to go. I believed the GER always had a Brass boiler band here, but also have an extra boiler band. Just a few of the details to fix along with the Westinghouse pump being noticeably smaller. I have knocked up some interior detail, based loosely on what I could see in a photo, im not going to be exact, it is more to replicate some kind of detail through the cab window.
  3. Thanks chaps much appreciated I can take a look at these elements, I was thinking the smoke door looks a bit too chunky indeed, had no idea about the Westinghouse pump so thanks Darryl, and for all those useful notes. I'm tackling the interior Cab at present so going to flesh that out first, then swing back and fix these bits cheers Rob
  4. Hello folks, im starting a new locomotive build for the clubs 7mm layout, another GER loco in 7mm to accompany my S56, attempting to build 1001 the only version to ever have been painted in Great Eastern blue. I'm modelling up in 3d before breaking down to printable components for printing. I haven't started the cab details yet working on that at the moment, but I thought I would post the progress as im certain I have missed details or placed elements in the wrong place as I have tried to piece this together with simple drawings for scale, and poured over photographs for the details. So any thoughts or help would be much appreciated Cheers Rob
  5. Thanks Andy I just need to pull my finger out and print the rest :)
  6. Ok so first punt at the 6 wheel GNR Howlden's in 7mm, I was quite pleased with the quality of this print, it came out a lot better than some of the previous prints I have done! I am finding this printing malarkey to be a dark art at times! Anyhoo I am hoping to crack out a few more coaches in the next few weeks, following this 3 compartment Brake third, I hope to print a Lav composite, 6 compartment all third, and Full brake, and possible a luggage comp. The roof raises up a bit in these pics, but sits down nicely on the top of the carriage walls. I also have all the vac pipes and end grab rails, plus buffers, and top head lamp printed out separately to fix on
  7. Sorry Jay I missed this the other day, and thank you for the kind words , here is the previous thread I posted the models in but sadly the majority of pictures have gone now! here is the link I have threads all over the place so am thinking of just starting a general thread somewhere, and chucking in all my modelling musings in there :)
  8. Thanks for those very kind words Covkid, I do have a few more pics I will try to add on here in the next few days if doesn't start to get a bit repetitive! View from the railway up to the railway cottages at the back of the farm to the left View down to the Brick Dairy at the bottom of the hill, past old Betty's cottage to the right! And a overview of the model showing where everything is in relation to each other. Apologies Rookie error with the picture spacing
  9. Seeing as I seem to have sadly lost most of my old pictures from previous threads on here, I figured it was a good excuse as any to whack a few back up, and probably expand my thread lurking to beyond the 3D printing arena!! :) Model village, know known as Lower Grampton on my dads model railway, the railway cottages, and the King Henry Arms below.
  10. Finally after a busy few weeks with life stuff, im getting back to working on updating and preparing my GNR Howlden coaches in 7mm, looking forward to test printing some of these next week all being well, but have added a Lav comp to the collection, and updated the brake third. I will also work up the full brake, third and composite luggage coaches to print as well. Hoping to add some 4 wheelers to this stock once i can get my hands on some drawings. Cheers
  11. Thanks Linny that is very kind, A huge thanks goes to Ian for the transfers, they make such a difference, I have really enjoyed making these little coaches, and painting the teak is the most fun you can have with a paint brush :) I can't wait to get onto the other stuff, including the LSWR 6 wheelers :)
  12. Good point :) Yeah thanks for the Decal applying master class Andy, massively helped cheers
  13. Update on the GER Coaches started putting the transfers on these babies, and a huge thanks to @ianmaccormac for producing these awesome 7mm Great Eastern Railway Transfers that go on like a breeze and make a massive difference to the look of these models, I think you will all agree, thanks Ian, really appreciated chap. I should really print and build a background to photograph this stuff on!
  14. Update on the Billinton 6 wheel Double ender. Fixed the warping, not a bad print, a little bit of post required still, but this number is going off to @ianmaccormac who kindly sent me a set of cracking decals for my GER 7mm coaches. Thanks Ian really appreciated chap, they are fantastic set of Decals that will help me finish off these coaches cheers. Will post results soon.
  15. Thanks Dave, I need to pull my finger out and get these 4mm ready, however Im enjoying building this stuff way too much at the moment :) Hence first attempt at something new, A double ended Billinton Brake in 7mm, i'm not 100% happy with this, but it was my first attempt at printing, and there seems to be a bit of slight warping so have chucked another one on the printer to see if I can fix this issue, along with cleaning up some of the finer details. Have quickly misted it in primer to get a better view of the details and any issues. Soler bars and the roof, are just placed on for the moment hence why the solebars look a bit off!
  16. Yes Im going to finish it anyway, but will then concentrate on the Lav comp instead work in progress of this 7mm fictional 6 wheel GER Clerestory
  17. Some close ups of these coaches which are still very much Work in progress, needs glazing, weathering, lighting and thanks to @ianmaccormac I have some transfers to place on these coaches now! Hope to start doing that this week, along with more tests on my Billinton Double Ended brake.
  18. Thanks James good to know! Shame I have almost finished painting up this in 7mm and it looks fantastic! But no worries I will just use the Lav comp instead, much appreciated
  19. Oh wow thanks Annie, apologies for my delayed response only just seen this, love the photo above, amazing shot of the 6 wheel all 3rd lav clerestory comp. Do you perhaps know if they did a standard all third clerestory along with this lav comp? Many thanks Rob
  20. A cheeky pic showing some of the progress on the GER coaches behind Andy’s N2 at the club tonight!
  21. Ta Andy, I have another all third lavatory clerestory 6 wheeled comp printed, but needs a bit of post work, not such a great print this time, think it was my fault and crappy supports! Plus I have GER 6 wheeler all third printing at prsent, but am hoping to print a 6 wheeler Billinton this week for Ian MacCormac who has kindly sent me a bunch of transfers for these coaches. Then im hoping to try out the GNR Howldens
  22. Really impressed with this Phrozen printer, the quality of printing is really solid, even if it does take 32hrs per coach! GER 6 wheeled clerestory in 7mm
  23. Thanks Richard, im hoping to get a bunch up to works finish, then start to think about weathering them all
