  1. Are you teaming up with a particular Club to provide the stewards etc?
  2. A new range of drop-in wheelsets and components to suit Dapol diesels/electrics with pin-point axles will be introduced within the next few months. These have been developed as a private project by a couple of Association members. Edward S
  3. I see no criticism of any person or persons here, only of the material a particular product is currently manufactured from. It’s probably too brittle for its intended purpose and perhaps a more forgiving material is required? A large batch of 3D printed figures from Shop 3 have recently been replaced by the manufacturer, due to them being far to brittle.
  4. JLC Tools are available in the UK: http://www.modellingtools.co.uk/jlc-saw-anniversary-set-9975-p.asp Jerry, Richard Wilson and myself all bought ours at Warley from them a couple of years ago. The blades can be stacked up with the supplied precision spacers allowing several parallel cuts. The JLC cutting jigs are also very well made. Edward S
  5. Likewise please, we need more details on livery etc. I don’t wish to order anything that could only have been observed post-1965. Edward S
  6. Hi Tony What measurement does it set between the rail top and the underside of the buffing plate please? Edward S
  7. Total pie-in-the-sky this one. We don't know who is behind it or if a company has even been formed to progress it. No website either. RTR model production, even by crowdfunding, is a big boys game and this gentleman, who ever he is, is clearly out of his depth and under-resourced. Edward S
  8. Sorry, had to vote 'no' as its not a loco I could justify in my Yorkshire-based rosters. However I wish you well with it and know it will be a beautiful model if it does get to the market. Edward S
  9. The knotted hankie is not accepted Masonic regalia. I think it has Lancastrian origins and may be worn by Ecky-Thump Grand Masters, a sort of undress version of the giant flat cap. (If you don't remember the 'Goodies' on 1970s British TV then you may have to use Google to edumucate yourself...) Edward S
  10. Don't forget the full set of Working Tools, to keep things square, level and upright. The Volume of the Sacred Law (aka The 2mm Handbook) also needs to open at an appropriate place... Edward S
  11. Who is it to be commissioned from please? Direct from a Chinese factory or via one of the established UK based designer-producers? Potential crowdfunders need confidence in the team behind a product before they commit any cash. The fact that you only have a Facebook presence and not a commercial website hardly inspires confidence to be honest.
  12. One word of advise for those wishing to pre-order these models from Kernow/DJM - make sure you pay for it with a CREDIT CARD and not a debit card, cheque or cash. That way if for whatever reason you don't receive your model/s or a refund then your credit card company will be legally obliged to return your money to you. I am not in anyway suggesting that these companies are financially unsound or potentially dishonest, but at the end of the day their cancellation and money back promise is not financially underwritten or guaranteed by a 3rd party and is legally worthless. Best consumer practice for any deposit or pre-payment against goods or services for future delivery is to pay by credit card, affording you much more protection under law. I wish Dave and Kernow well with this project. If it ever gets reduced to 2mm scale then I'd be very tempted by a green one... Edward S
  13. Hi Tony The old L&Y coaldrops on Mill Lane near my office in Bradford are on a wickedly tight inside curve, so yes it did happen. Nice work, hope to see it soon. Edward
  14. Hi Pete That's an awful lot of supporting infrastructure (and work) for not a lot of scenic railway. I fear you would soon grow bored of it. If you want to run new locomotives in then buy a decent rolling road... 600mm is a bare minimum radius for 2FS and longer wheelbase stuff won't be happy on it without a lot of gauge widening. It's less of a problem if you run bogie diesels but for steam locos bigger than 0-6-0 I'd advise 750mm as the minimum radius. Edward
