As you will find with every pre-production sample, the purpose of EP and livery samples are to flush out any errors or issues with the model before it goes into full production. Hi Roy, Far from it. We have less than 20% remaining. We simply thought they would look great with a weathered finish so had a handful custom finished.

Thanks to everyone for their input and observations. I can acknowledge that each issue has been noted. This was of course one of the reasons we publicised and indeed the purpose of the samples themselves. Many of the issues had already been noted, however for reassurance I would just like to clarify the following; The SR Olive Green is incorrect but will be corrected in the final model. On the SECR, the bright red will be more of a darker red when produced. The crest quality will also be improved. The BR handrails will be black. Just to update, we will releases some images of the Wainwright D Class livery sample/s shortly. As you will find with every pre-production model, the purpose of EP and livery samples are to flush out any errors or issues with the model before it goes into full production. Several minor points have been identified so far and necessary changed will be implemented. To clarify a few points raised so far, Yes the coal load is removable. The fit will be improved on final production models. Should the coal be removed it will reveal that the tender inner is fully modelled and detailed. No replacement bogie will be supplied (similar to City of Truro), however instead a unique plate will be supplied which plugs into the NEM socket to hide the socket should you wish to remove the coupling. Various alterations will be made to the livery and application so livery samples shots should not be taken as final product. Overall we are thrilled with the progress of the model and project. Hi Stephen, Thanks for your message. Sorry for the confusion. I can only surmise that the Sales team were confused with the next batch of Terriers leaving China. As for the LBSC terriers, there has been a slight delay decoder fitting, these have been fitted by Dapol in small batches and then posted to customers in date order. We do have another batch arriving next week and will hopefully be in touch soon. Once again apologies for the delay and confusion Thanks Oliver

UPDATE: 05/08/20 The first decorated sample production model has arrived! Please note this is the first sample and various alterations and corrections will be made. Please also note the power wheels on the final production models will be black electro-plated and not bare metal as shown.

Following on from the previous update regarding the slight defect. Over the last few weeks following feedback which was given on a small proportion of the early A1 deliveries, we have made some improvements to our outstanding Terrier models. We expect to see the eagerly awaited outstanding versions early next month.
