  1. It’s a shame especially when you consider how old the model tooling is now and there are superior models cheaper. If anyone from GBRF is on here that has the power, what about 66701 in Railfreight red stripe or distribution ? Wouldn’t mind a mainline blue one!!!
  2. What’s the chances this becomes a limited edition next?
  3. Second this. I’d take 2 of each in fgw
  4. They will hold stock for a while at that price, in turn meaning when someone wants one they will have new stock so can charge ridiculous amounts. Worst thing is people will pay it eventually.
  5. Apologies if this is a silly question but what is the difference between Dapol’s “early” and “late” versions? I’m looking to buy 68001, according to the description it’s had the livery issues corrected.
  6. I also done the same, all I could do was get a blue set which is now grey
  7. I’d be happy with a 86 but I think that is wishful thinking!!
  8. I’m over that way end of next week so intend on popping in. Also just brought an Anglia 47! So far i have managed to resist the DRS version despite that being more appropriate for me.
  9. Fantastic shop, ordered with no fuss at all. Highly recommended.
  10. All, much appreciated for the information and photos. Great help to me.
  11. Good evening all, I was wondering if anyone could help me determine if Virgin’s buffer fitted HST’s worked West Coast Holyhead trains or Cross Country also? I am looking to model a buffer fitted version for both Virgin and GNER.
  12. Did you guys do 86’s or 90’s in Virgin? I’m currently doing a Heljan 86 in the correct shade.
  13. Many years ago when the Hornby new HST came out he sold a full respray of the power cars in the merlin great western livery. I snapped them up with the mk3’s to match. When it arrived the workmanship was not what was expected from the price and the description. The Ivory was a completely different shade to the trailers, reason given? The varnish caused it. Needless to say I was not happy so raised the issue further with no help from eBay at all. I ended up having to keep, I was very new to eBay at the time too. I weathered and that dramatically improved the look. I sold 3 years later, thankfully I ended up not loosing a penny on what I paid. He done some fag packet ones not too long back and the quality again was poor, the eBay photos had many issues showing around the cab etc and the transfers had Split’s etc. I have to agree, he massively over estimates his abilities, especially when it’s complicated models/liveries.
  14. Bachmann web site confirms both are 2018 REP models. http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/
  15. That would be fantastic thanks
  16. No need buddy, It’s stupid o’clock, coffee is always a good bet. Without trying to hijack this tread always from the Shed, would you be taking pre orders for the Colas 67 & 70? If you’ll be stocking them of course.
  17. Hi buddy, appreciate it’s early hours etc but I think you have got me confused with the chap you was originally in conversation with
  18. http://www.tridenttrains.co.uk/search.php?keyword=newitems http://www.scalerail.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=10_12&sort=pd.name&order=DESC&limit=50 These guys have it at £135, cheapest I could find. Even Rails have upped their price, I guess they got the wrong invoice too. Just for comparison and for those that may not be able to afford it just yet the below has some at inflated prices compared to most other retailers, I have a feeling these may be about longer than those selling at less than RRP. http://www.oliviastrains.com/trains/mt/Bachmann-diesel/Bachmann-class-66/Bachmann-class-66-options-in-gbrf-livery-2/Bachmann-32-983-class-66-7-66779-evening-star-in-br-green-with-gbrf-branding-livery/ Not trying to cause trouble or irritation, just pointing out that irrespective of the RRP there is still mass variations in price out there. I get that the traders have a business to run and profit to make, I think sometimes too many concentrate on a particular model rather than the full stock as a whole. Just a quick search earlier today looking for a GBRF 66, DB 67, Colas 70, DRS 68, RR 122 and DRS 47 I found each to be cheaper separately from individual shops. I had expected to get at least two from the same shop but no, the shop which had the cheapest 70 also had the most expensive 67 so just goes to show it not all about making as cheap as possible to get rid of all the stock. Having said all that I can see why it’s easy to get frustrated given the forum generates much rumour, usually individual opinions pushed on the general population. Anyway that’s my look on it, no offence or malis meant to anyone. This is a great forum that is generally very informative, and the people on here are helpful, generally polite
  19. Rails is where I got mine from, good service
  20. Sorry guys I’m sure it’s been mentioned already but a search has come up blank, can the Colas 47 still be pre ordered?
  21. Very impressed as always. I ordered 66711 and 66779, delivered the next day. 66779 is a brilliant loco, 66711 unfortunately had a broken front end railing. Quick message and it’s being exchanged, Rails even covering return postage. Just another example of good customer service. May have to give them a call tomorrow and get maritime one brought.
  22. Arrived today, very nice looking loco. My neighbor has the limited addition version on order, will be interested to see them against each other.
  23. Ordered yesterday as well as 66711. Can’t wait for it to arrive. I paid for next day delivery so hoping it will be here tomorrow. Really tempted by the maritime one!!
  24. Second that. This really does restore faith that not everyone out there is only trying to sell known defective items without full disclosure. You would expect a major play like rails would have known initially, but at least the right thing has now been done. Good on them.
