  1. Interestingly, there are only two current stations in the UK with under in: Ascott-Under-Wychwood and Ashton-Under-Lyne I've not been to either, so... sorry.
  2. Thanks for the links, been thinking about modelling this area lately. Has anyone made up the Electra Graphics N Gauge Tyneside EPB and got any pics?
  3. Looking forward to seeing this, it is an idea I have thought about in the past, interested to see how it works.
  4. Taken on a railtour into the King George Dock in Hull The King George Dock in the Port of Hull by Timothy Young, on Flickr How about an electric hauled Pullman coach rake next.
  5. Here you go: So my reply: West Coast Main Line old and new by Timothy Young, on Flickr And next lets have an AC electric locomotive (ie. 86, 87 etc.) working a service passenger train on the WCML
  6. Railbus it is: The Waggon & Maschinenbrau Railbus by Timothy Young, on Flickr Lets go with their successors - how about a Pacer in a pre-privatised paint scheme
  7. Standard and narrow gauge in Wales 158824 departs Aberystwyth for Birmingham Intl. by Timothy Young, on Flickr Lets get a Snowden Mountain Railway photo next please
  8. 92034 at Crewe, now in Bulgaria: 92034 Kipling at Crewe by Timothy Young, on Flickr If it is not too obscure, can we get a photo of a British built locomotive (ie. not a class 66!) in service on the Continent.
  9. Green loco, colour photo: Deltic D9009 Alycidon at Doncaster by Timothy Young, on Flickr How about a Class 91 in one of the promotional vinyls that EC and VTEC seemed to love.
  10. Looks like a fun little project. What are the dimensions of the board?
  11. What do you suggest? Exhibitions are limited by the quality of layouts and traders available that will come to them. The formula is limited by the definition of an exhibition. Most events in the world have a set formula and run to it - heritage railway galas, motor racing weekends, historical re-enactment events etc. etc. The ones that try and 'mix it up' by incorporating different ideas and trying to cross-over between genres are often the ones that fail. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by media conscious? There are plenty of websites (like this one), youtube channels etc. devoted to model layouts, but none beats seeing them in person.
  12. Thanks for bringing this thread back and keeping it rolling guys. This has quickly become my favourite part of the forum, I love seeing railway photos from different places and getting a chance to keep looking back through my own archive. 156480 passes the old Carnforth signal box by Timothy Young, on Flickr There does not seem to be a 'third generation' according to Wikipedia, so to continue the theme - a DMU built after the year 2000 with semaphores please...
  13. Sleeper train - the Kyiv to Odesa overnighter in November 2016 For the next one - had a lot of general pics recently, lets go a little more specific again - a Loco Hauled Train at a Southern Region London Terminus - scheduled or excursion, at any point in history.
  14. Big enough? Snowdon Mountain Railway across the Llanberis Pass by Timothy Young, on Flickr Lets keep the theme going - a train in the Alps with mountains please.
  15. Same idea at the same time guys! Lets cover both bases - Class 700, no ballast. Thameslink 700106 at St Pancras on 2W18 by Timothy Young, on Flickr To balance out London, lets have a train somewhere in the Scottish Highlands with at least one good sized hill or mountain in shot!
  16. For anyone who has not tried it, the Station Inn at Ribblehead does an amazing Giant Yorkshire Pudding with Roast Beef and Mash or Chilli and Chips. Try it next time any of you are there. A very small 158 and 153 on the viaduct: A Leeds train passes over Ribblehead viaduct by Timothy Young, on Flickr How about a train on the Forth or Tay Bridges next.
  17. Yes, I had to search for Middlesex to check exactly what it covered D Stock 7044 at Ealing Broadway by Timothy Young, on Flickr On this topic, could we get a Wessex Trains liveried unit next, at home or away.
  18. One of my favourite shots: Deltic D9009 runs through Keighley by Timothy Young, on Flickr How about a Class 40 in action on the mainline (can be a preserved model)
  19. Well looks like I've killed it. So here is breakfast: And I'll throw it open to a wildcard - the most unusual railway related photo in your collection.
  20. I was going to post a selfie from Paris, but here is a 66 up in the Alps instead. So since the next post will probably be in the morning, how about a full breakfast, served on-board a train.
  21. Think that's expensive?! I'm trying to wangle someone to pay for a 50 minute Edge of Space flight in a MiG-29 for me. 50 minutes, €17,500....! http://www.migflug.com/en/jet-fighter-flights/flying-with-a-jet/mig-29-fulcrum-in-russia.html
  22. Well they seem to move pretty quickly when alerted. What else can they really do. Yes the text is copied from another sale, but this happens quite frequently - people use chunks of text from official websites or other listings to describe objects. Can't ban a seller for using copied text. Yes the items are cheap, but for these obscure items it is hard for eBay to detect this and they can't really ban a seller for being too cheap.
  23. In Kaunas, Lithuania at the weekend: Okay, how about a European mainland (not UK) steam locomotive - in service (active, or preserved).
  24. These look to be automatically copied and duplicated listings, probably using a bot. I would guess that their motivation is given the low pricing, some people simply won't bother to get around to reporting the missing shipments to PayPal and so even if a lot have to be refunded, they will be able to keep these and with enough listings it will make enough money to be worthwhile. These is also the sinister but hopefully not likely motivation of getting hold of the addresses of UK model railway enthusiasts which could be of interest to people who target houses for robbery.
